About this cottage rental
Simple, beautiful, classic New England cottage.
This 1940s beach cottage hearkens back to the days when the only homes on Plum Island were Summer homes. It’s simple and unfettered by the stress and busy-ness of your normal life. Just steps from the beach and close to all amenities.
Here, you will wake to the sounds of the ocean and sea gulls and smell the salt air. Capture the awe of sunrise over the ocean or sleep in; you’re on vacation after all. You can make your coffee and toast at home or walk down to Mad Martha’s for one of the best breakfasts in the area.
Read the paper (or not, given how the news has been) or maybe a good Summer book on the deck while planning (or not planning) your day.
Spend the day on the beach a few houses down, or wander over to the Plum Island basin just down 56th Street. Check out the shops in downtown Newburyport or visit any of the other seaside communities along the coast. Visit High Street to take in the beauty of the Federalist architectural. Stop in at the Customs House to learn about the local maritime history.
Grill a tasty dinner at the cottage or enjoy one of many fabulous local restaurants.
Enjoy sunsets over the basin like you’ve never seen before.
Rest in the comfort and gentle ambiance of your seaside retreat.
The house has a full deck in the back and a full indoor front porch for watching the day go by.
Two cozy bedrooms, one bathroom, and an open living room and kitchen.

We recently returned from a week at the beach and loved our time at the cottage! It’s a great place to get away, relax at the beach, or just chill out on the private patio. The cottage is a short walk from the beach, which was never crowded (you’re pretty far from any of the public access points) and you’ve got a great view of the boats leaving and entering Newburyport Harbor. The cottage was clean, comfortable, and close to restaurants, shopping, and local attractions- everything we were looking for in a vacation spot. We would definitely book again!

My happy place
I grew up in Newburyport and spent a good part of my summers hanging on Plum Island -all wonderful memories. My husband and I were looking for a relaxed place to stay near the beach - and for me it was important that it had that summer cottage feel . We found this home and fell in love - we booked for 6 days and actually asked if we could stay an extra day . The cottage has a spacious front porch great for reading and people watching in the evening . This is really a sweet place reminding me of the places I visited as a kid - spacious kitchen - cozy living room and two comfortable bedrooms . It is a short walk to the beach - which during the week we were there was never crowded - the beach is pristine ! We were walking distance to Mad Martha’s and the Plum island Kitchen- a slightly longer walk to the Beach coma - and to the point for beautiful sunsets . There is a sweet deck in the back with plenty of shade great for hanging out after the beach . We had everything we needed and honestly hated to leave !

Dirty Disappointment
The property was a complete dusty, dirty disappointment. It was as if the owner just wanted to make a quick buck. She left a dirty rundown cottage with all of her belongings including undergarments, tax documents and a fridge, freezer & pantry of expired food.

Charm and character by the beautiful beach
This house has so much character. It was a step back through time. We loved the charm and you don't have to bring anything but yourself and your clothes. Nina has everything there that you could ever dream of. She even left a little care package with memories of Plum Island. The cottage is literally a block from the beach., if that and the beach is so wide you can find your own piece of paradise. Nina gave the BEST suggestions of things to do and places to eat. Thank you for sharing your home with us and a piece of island life. We can't wait to come back.

Slice of heaven!
This little gem was exactly what our family needed. A home away from home and a short, pleasant walk to the gorgeous, uncrowded beach. The house had everything that we could have ever needed. Private, clean and cozy. This place has a special place in our hearts now. We will definitely be back!

Couldn't ask for more!
We loved this quaint little cottage! The location was perfect, literally a 5 minute walk to the beach. Our first impression was a good one. The place was clean and Nina left us a welcoming gift and a list of things to do on the island. It was the perfect getaway for our little family of 3. We would definitely stay here again!

Very pleasant and excellent location
We really enjoyed our stay here. The house was clean and cozy. The location was perfect - right near the beach and the bay, and the large outdoor patio and ample parking allowed us to socially distance with family during the pandemic. We would stay again!
