Perfect for families with children; And for Two Families to Rent Side-by-side!
We offer BOTH mirror image sides of our vacation rental duplex, 303 and 305 Strawberry Street. We recently purchased this duplex and plan to continue the history of making memories for families for years to come! This 1925 duplex has beautiful soft light from tall windows and a great dining room to gather. Couples, small groups of friends, and families who want to slow down, go to the beach and the park, and relax in this walk-able small town should feel right at home.
Each side has 3 bedrooms and 1.5 baths - they are similar bot not identical. The atmosphere is sunny coastal with style-conscious kitchen and baths. The property has a fenced-in small yard with deck with table and 4 chairs, upscale grill, outdoor shower, and some beach gear for your convenience.
Our property is conveniently located at the crossroads of Cape Charles - an easy walk to "downtown", the beach, and across the street from Central Park. The duplex has a covered porch to enjoy your coffee in the morning overlooking the park and a back deck with table/chairs, umbrella and new gas grill, overlooking the fenced-in back yard with outdoor shower. The kitchen is newly equipped with upscale dishes and serving pieces if you like to entertain, Keurig coffee maker, electric and stovetop teapots. The kitchen also has a high chair, or youth chair if the tray is removed, plus children's dishes are provided.
WiFi internet is provided and a new 40" flat screen. We've added a few DVDs, games, and books in the dining room bookshelf, along with a few toys/puzzles.
Bedrooms: 1 with a king size bed, 1 with a double bed and 1 with 2 twin-size beds. Linens provided by a linen service.
There is an outdoor shower and small, fenced-in back yard. Beach gear that is provided to lighten the load of your travel here includes: 4 beach chairs and beach cart. Sometimes guests have left their purchases, e.g., fishing poles and crab nets, rather than take them home. There is a stacking washer-dryer in the kitchen. For dog(s) approved in advance, dog bed is provided. A pet cleaning fee is charged for approved dogs. An additional cost of cleaning any furniture and bed spreads will be retained from your security deposit if the fur is found on the furniture and beds.
Cape Charles is embraced by water on three sides: commercial town harbor and yacht center (south), public beach (west), and marina (north). It's a wonderful setting if you love the water! Park Place is 3 blocks from the beach (Bay Ave.) and 2 blocks from the shops on main street (Mason Ave.). We are a mile from Bay Creek's two signature golf courses by Arnold Palmer and Jack Nicklaus, with top ratings by Golf Digest. The area promotes eco-tourism opportunities, including kayaking (even kayak/wine-tasting trips to a local winery), fishing off the town pier, hiking, and birding. You can rent jet skis at the harbor, bicycles, and golf carts. The town often has festivals, planned recreational activities for children and adults, and sometimes shows, movies, or live bands in the Park. The Eastern Shore Birding and Wildlife Festival in early October - fall weather is great here! Festive Fridays for shopping and Christmas treats are held the month of December on Mason Avenue. Year-round, Cape Charles has live theater performed by Arts Enter and others at the Palace Theater, art galleries, a Brown Dog ice cream shop, ladies upscale consignment, and beautiful spa to name a few of the attractions in town! We have good eateries and, if you like nostalgia, be sure to stop by the lunch counter at Rayfield's pharmacy at the corner of Mason Ave. and Fig. Street. Cape Charles Medical Center is located on Mason Ave. too.

We enjoyed our stay at Strawberry Street. The house is prime location for its proximity to the Central Park, beach and downtown! We did joke that the house might tip over, there is a significant lean, it’s especially noticeable in the bedrooms.
The house is simple but had everything we needed inside - and the shed outback had nice supplies for the beach as well!

We had a great time in Cape Charles. The house was extremely well equipped and felt very spacious for our group of 2 adults and three kids. The outdoor shower was handy and we appreciated the beach chairs and boogie boards that were provided. Central Park was right across the street and we easily walked to all the shops and restaurants. We did hear the neighbors on the other side of the duplex quite a bit - didn’t detract from our stay, just know that sound travels VERY easily!

Our family stayed here for Christmas and it was the perfect spot for us. The house is located directly across from Central Park and walking distance to anywhere in town. The house was clean and in great condition. It had everything we needed. Would stay again.

I had to book last minute and John was so nice and accommodating. The house was very clean. It’s in a perfect location facing the park and only a few blocks from the beach, shopping and restaurants. The weather was a little dreary and having a comfortable, well stocked home made up for that.

This was our first time vacationing in Cape Charles. The property had all the right things to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. John was very communicative and helpful when we had questions. The cleaning crew seemed to leave a few responsibilities behind upon our arrival but this was a minor thing to us and John was helpful to get everything squared away. The property itself is older so has the all charm of an older space, i.e. uneven, creaking but beautiful floors, noise traveling, but it didn't bother us much and we found it gives the place character. We enjoyed the kids toys supplied because any kid knows that other peoples' toys are better than theirs :) The park being across the street was great. They have a big playground, fields to run around, concerts on Saturday night, and a splash-pad fountain; all were a big hit. The only thing we found a little difficult with the property was the number of outlets in each room, which was exactly one. With two very small kiddos, we have lots to plug in (noise machines, monitors, "wake-to-rise" clocks, chargers), so we found this a little challenging. The property supplied extension cords and power strips to help but we still found it a bit hard. Overall, a wonderful week with all we needed. We will definitely vacation to Cape Charles next year and hope the Twins on Strawberry St. are available to rent again! Thanks John for a great stay!

The location was absolutely perfect! We rented a golf cart which made travel to the beach, shops, and restaurants extremely easy. In addition to the beach, our family enjoyed the lovely park across the street; great place to walk and for our granddaughter to play.
The owner has equipped the rental so nicely that you feel comfortable and at home!

We had a great stay. The house had everything we needed. Cooking was easy with previous posts being accurate about what the owner provides. The owner was very fast and helpful responding to any requests during our stay. Once we arrived we could easily walk to restaurants or the beach. Thank you!

Really cute historic duplex in picturesque and charming neighborhood right out of Gilmore Girls. Super quiet and family and pet friendly. House is well equipped and owner is very responsive. Some minor issues with a ceiling fan, door lock mechanism, and missing HDMI cord were rectified promptly. We really enjoyed our stay as a family there. Located directly across from a very pretty park.

This was our second year staying at the twins on Strawberry. John is a wonderful host and very easy to communicate with. We love the location right by the park for young children, and the outdoor shower is a big plus. It's also so convenient having all the kitchen staples stocked (spices, oils, all cookware, flatware and tupperware). Would highly recommend to anyone!

The house is located perfectly in the town of Cape Charles. Restaurants and the beach are in walking distance. I was pleasantly surprised to find the many spices, laundry and dish detergent that isn’t normally supplied by the owner. It was also nice not to haul all of our beach chairs and umbrella for once!!!

A comfortable, older home with a well stocked kitchen; enclosed backyard and inviting front porch. The house has some of the quirks of a 100 year old building, like squeaky floorboards, but has been updated in many important areas, like air conditioning. And the location was perfect for easy walking to downtown shopping or public beaches. Our 4 day stay was a wonderful timeout escape from pressures and obligations.

We loved this lovely house from the get go. Beautifully decorated and so well stocked in the kitchen, bathroom, outside seating with an umbrella for the table. The owners have thought of everything. This rental is in a great location to access the beach and local shops and restaurants with an easy 5-10 minute walk to both. The house is very comfortable and has everything you could need to make your stay enjoyable! We would love to come back in the summer time to experience Cape Charles in a different season

A perfect location in Cape Charles. Very easy walk to the shops, eatery, ice cream shop and the distillery. Also an extremely easy walk to the beach which the house provided very good beach chairs and beach cart. Sat on the front porch each evening watching the golf carts go by, and yes I think their are more golf carts than cars in Cape Charles. The check in was effortless, the location great, the house was clean and comfortable with all the necessities you may need. Communication with John was very good, but that was only before arrival because everything was perfect during our stay so we did not need to reach out to him. Being an older house not a lot of outlets, but extension cords were provided which struck me as very considerate host. The house was well stocked with all your needs. Thank you John for a great house to enjoy.

Good location, family friendly
A family-friendly property, 10-minute walk to the beach or town with kids in tow, and conveniently located across from the park/playground. The rental was well equipped, there is even an outdoor shower out back. A couple of minor things- the bedroom door closest to the bathroom would not stay closed no matter what we tried, and there were ants in the kitchen. But overall we enjoyed our stay and would return.

Pros:-Well stocked with everything you need, kids stuff, beach gear, full kitchen, etc.-Great location, 3 blocks to the beach & 3 blocks from the Main Street. -Very CleanCons:-Mostly cosmetic, lots of empty nails on the walls where we assumed there used to be decoration.-The twin room door doesn’t close because the door handle seemed jammed. Overall great value.
