Our hostess Maree was absolutely lovely. The location was perfect for us as we were able to completely disconnect from technology. The expansive Australian outback, uninterrupted sunsets and sunrises were spectacular. Our accommodation and all the facilities were spot on for us. As a full working Sheep Station, watching the sheep being run into the pens was a bonus. Drinks and a fire under the stars was a definite highlight.

Country. Hospitality on Sheep station
Loo/showers 50 metres away from rooms outside this could have been worded better in booking description. Rooms not soundproof and I had a loud snorer next door so I had no sleep until I bought earplugs and sleeping tablets.

Farmstays are a unique experience and the hospitality was second to none.

The Shearer’s quarters at Evanston Station were extremely well done up and had an amazing character and feeling. The bedroom was small, but very comfortable. The facilities and equipment for self catering were great, and the sunsets were fab. As was the hospitality of our hosts and the fire and nibbles we enjoyed with them one of the evenings. We fully enjoyed our stay and highly recommend Evanston Station.

Very welcoming hosts and gorgeous rooms. The refurbished shearers quarters have all the country charm, show casing history and outback life. A full functioning kitchen with everything we needed. Lots of thoughtful touches.
An empty cupboard to pop our groceries in would have been great!

Thanks for a lovely stay. Bed was comfy and the shared Kitchen/Dining area was great. Enjoyed having a private bathroom just a short walk across the driveway. The area was lovely and quiet with beautiful sunrise and sunset. The Breakfast package was really great as well.
The only small issue was how much noise transfers from the other guests - not that they were noisy at all - just that due to the nature of the building (old shearers quarters?) - tin and wood - any sound was very clearly heard. Light from their room also came through the walls a little in the corner once my light was out. Having said that, I did really love the accommodation and felt very well looked after.

Everything! The incredible welcome on arrival. The bed. The linens. The artwork and little styling touches all around. The facilities. The eco bathroom products. The food. The sunsets!

Loved the peace & quiet. Maree was an excellent host.
The bed & pillows extremely comfortable.
Enjoyed having drinks with the family around the fire on our 2nd night.
Cold shower both days, even though water in the kitchen was boiling hot?? It was very cold when we were there 0-3deg at night!!

Thank you to our beautiful hosts for such a magical station stay. We loved all the luxurious touches - the fabulous country wall art & decor, linen sheets & bed cover, plush towels, natural bathroom products, comfy bed, amazing well equipped common kitchen and the pleasure of sitting on the verandah watching the sheep being rounded in. So peaceful and soul nourishing.

Beautiful place to arrive to late in the day. Highly recommend the paddock tour. Shared kitchen facilities are functional and charming. Hosts were lovely. BBQ was amble and high quality.
40 mins drive to Longreach which can be a hassle if all your activities are there.

Peaceful farm stay nice rooms, clean, good beds, fell vacilitated communal kitchen. Beautiful sunrises and sunset. Lovely friendly owners.
Needs a couple of good comfortable chairs. Was a bit far away from longreach for us as a base. But in saying that a lovely place.

The serenity of being out in the country, the stars, no tv, brilliant. They also had a few board games which passed our time away. Would highly recommend it for 2 couples or more. Our team will be out next year and I will organize we stay there for a few nights
Nothing - brilliant

Hannah was very helpful from my first contact with her. The accommodation was excellent with great attention to practical and aesthetic detail.
We loved our stay, and wished that we could have stayed longer.
We could not fault Evanston Station in any way.

Being the son of a wool classer from this area (1960s), I grew up around sheep. So, the opportunity to stay at an operational sheep station was too good to pass up. The accommodation is setup in what would have been the sheep workers quarters and kitchen building. Owners have gone to great lengths to meet your every need. Whilst answering the early morning call to go to the toilet, I only got a few steps outside and I stopped, it has been a long time since I have been able to view the sky with no light pollution, I could see the stars all the way down to the horizon.
Not staying longer and having the time to look around the property, which I was invited to do by the owners. The only suggestion I would make is to increase the depth of the step from the verandas to the ground, we found these just a bit shallow and easy to miss when stepping down.

Great communication from property owner for directions to location prior to arrival.
Fantastic night sky for looking at the stars and Milky Way with no light pollution.. well equiped kitchen, bbq, if you want to cook your own food.
Fluffy, thick towels, comfy bed, lots of ammenities shampoo, shower gel, moisturiser.

Room was very small with no space at all, simply take away all decorations will have some room to put trolly case on floor and room for a book on the night table. Doona was warm and the strip heater was sufficient. Kitchen was fantastic, too bad the toilet was not attach, and the solar light inside light up time was not long enough. One suggest to Hannah, pack an overnight bag and stay for couple of nights will find all the inconeivenince. But overall a very nice experience for city folks like me.

Converted shearers quarters are utterly delightful, but be ready for rustic. Outdoor separate bathroom but new & clean & lovely hot water. They even provide blankets to snuggle under to watch the stars sitting on the verandah. Delightful hosts. Delicious breakfast. Definitely access only by car but it’s the real outback station experience & totally worth it. We loved it!
There were a few too many cushions of all things! It was so nice it’s hard to find too much to complain about.

Breakfast was adequate. Beds very comfortable. Kitchen facilities were excellent although I don’t think we would have liked to be there with a full house. Wall heaters in bedrooms were great. Loved playing Squatter again. Sunsets were amazing as is the night sky.
The steps off the verandah were too high and too narrow. Too many pillows in the bedrooms. A rubbish bin in the bedroom and toilet would be handy. Bathrooms need more shelving/storage room and more towel racks. Hand towel in the kitchen would also be handy. The doors need a good oil as they creak terribly when trying to silently open the doors in the middle of the night!

A world away from normal motel accommodation, this is a real working sheep and cattle farm and staying there is like being a family guest. The family room was well equipped and comfortable. The guided tour of the farm is a must. For people who live in the city, this is a real slice of outback Australia! This an excellent alternative to the accommodation in Longreach.

Unique sheep station experience.
Friendly hosts. Comfortable bed.
Quality linen and country breakfast.
The sunset and silence at night. Thank you Hannah ☺️
Kitchen renovations were still in progress. The proximity of the rooms makes it ideal for a group that know each other.

Hanna and Mac were fantastic hosts, they were super welcoming and accommodating. Breakfast was big and tasty and filled me up for the day! The farm itself is so peaceful and it was so nice just sitting out on the deck listening to the sheep all night. The rooms were very rustic but beautifully set up and had really nice towels! The bathroom is set up outside of the rooms about 20m away in a cute little outhouse setup with a toilet and shower. Thanks for the stay guys, I'll definitely be back if I stay out that way again! Cheers
It was a little dark outside at night and I couldn't figure out how to use the old light for outside,

We stayed in a shearer’s room, which really added to the experience - shearing had been completed only a short while before we got there. The room was comfortable, well supplied and immaculate.
Hannah and her mother Maree were wonderful hosts. The breakfasts- if you survived their size!! - we’re simply great. The whole family was friendly, helpful and cheerful and our 5 days there has been the highlight of our extended trip.

The hosts were great. Breakfast was good.
Having en-suite facilities would be a big improvement and make a big difference to the experience.

What can I say? I honestly loved it, loved it, loved it! Hosts were absolutely fantastic very lovely people, friendly and welcoming. Everything was beautiful. The view was amazing and the country so clean....I love the country. We dined with the family in the homestead and again for breakfast next morning. Well let me tell you .....the meal was excellent and Omg I was so full..(I rolled home) Hahaha!😃 We are coming back again. We had the opportunity to meet the whole family and pets and friends..watched a beau4storm roll in and our experience was magic. Thankyou so much to our beautiful hosts. X
