Great breakfast, nice choice of items. The location in the cellar was unique. Our bedrooms were spacious. Bathroom had a great Walkin shower.
We were there when a late night wedding party was going on. Made sleep difficult the first night of our stay.

A real Schloss experience in Germany. Beautiful architecture, full of history with a vineyard to match - specially if you love Riesling. The rooms are big, comfortable and private. Breakfast included made to order eggs with a great selection. Excellent experience!
Nothing but the doors are creaky - like a real castle experience.

What a spectacular location and magical place. we stayed in the wellness room-so gorgeous. we had wine in the terrace from the wine boutique and the breakfast in the cellar was amazing for our day of cycling!
loved everything about the property.
charming and historical--quiet too with those thick castle walls!

This was a unique stay and something we really wanted to try. It was very quiet so we were one of only two couples staying there so had plenty of space and basically the entire castle to ourselves. We stayed in the ZauberKammer which was very spacious. The facilities were fairly basic but one would expect that as it's not a hotel. Overall it was a pleasant stay and the host was always available to assist if needed.

Great to have a stay in a real castle. I would have liked to be able to go up the turret to see the view
The bed in our second bedroom broke and even though it got fixed immediately they were not able to relax as they were scared it could break again

I came on a sunny day so could very much enjoy the spectacular view of the castle and grapevines. The room was renovated and well-equiped. Breakfast was also good that I’d recommend to order as the nearest restaurants are 1,5 km away downhill and open late.
I’d wish to have water kettle and hair dryer in the room.
the ceiling light was broken so the room was relatively dark at night but the host lady provided extra stand lamp.

stunning building, rooms amazing,
room was too loud, couldn’t make dark even in winter. breakfast at 9am was too late

amazing views and very well taken care of the old structure of the castle
heating almost non existing… the heathers were there but wouldn’t warn up

This hotel was more of an experience than simply a stay at a hotel. The rooms are, obviously, in a castle and are authentic both in positive and negative ways. We were thrilled with the antiques, squeaky door, and knights armor right outside our door. However, you hear others at the hotel easily —especially walking above you. The site is also not well suited for persons with a disability. The breakfast room is in a cellar accessible from the courtyard through a door with uneven and poorly lit stone steps. Checking in and out was not at a desk per se, but literally occurred outside at a desk like structure in a part of the courtyard—if it had been very cold or rainy, this would not have been feasible. If you’re flexible, ambulatory without the need for well placed stair railings, and have a sense of adventure then you will love this place.

fabulous location overlooking the Rhine with walking trails out of the castle door. huge rooms stuffed with antiques, with a shower in a turret, comfy four poster bed. plus the non-commercial feel. walking distance to the village for an evening meal.
the breakfast was expensive for what it was and the cellar breakfast room very musty and dark

It’s a beautiful and real castle!
Staff is very helpful. They were not on site but we can reach them on the phone 24hours. They were willing to help us with early morning breakfast and etc. The room is very spacious and furnished with antique furniture but the bathroom is updated and clean. The restaurant is located basement sellers. It’s unique setting and good to take photo.
Our shower did not have enough hot water for a shower but we had a separate bathtub which did have hot water so it was ok. The restaurant is in the basement cellar and we were the first one in for the day so the musty smell was very strong especially in the back room.

amazing property!

Break fast was good, location has plusses and minus's, for example to walks were well signed (+) but the road noise was invasive (-).
Rooms need to have a fridge in - especially if there was no evening dinning.

Great breakfast. Medieval-styled room in an old world castle, yet was kept very clean. Quite spacious room and bathroom. Beautiful location with fantastic views. Parking readily available.
Would be nice to see more evening events for our entertainment. We only stayed one night though, so we may have caught them on an off-day.

Everything here was amazing! Our kids had a great time staying in the castle and we didn't want to leave. Everyone was kind and welcoming, even given our very limited skill with German! We wish we had given ourselves more time to explore the area, but we're only there for one night! We reserved a family room and it was 3 bedrooms, which was lovely for our family of 5 and gave the kids a little space from each other, which is often hard to come by when traveling.
Nothing really. It was slightly our of our typical price range, but absolutely worth what we paid (and probably more!!)

Beautiful castle, peaceful, clean and authentic. Beautiful grounds and surrounds.

Location is fabulous and it will be more beautiful in summer. It gives you a great experience of staying in a castle overlooking the town with vineyards all around. The rooms are spacious and view simple exceptional. A must visit if you want to experience a piece of history from the 13th century.
There is no concierge support and no room service which makes little inconvenient if you are looking for a complete package. Certainly covid times have clearly taken its toll and shortage of staff was evident. Apart from breakfast there was nothing available during the day. So you have go to the town below to pick essentials.
