We had a great week with our kids and grandkids! Plenty of sleeping areas, and large living space for all 12 of us.
We would have liked to have a bigger (flatter) lawn area for outdoor games, but the lake certainly made up for it. Host was attentive and responsive. We would stay here again.

We rented the Alton Bay home for a week in July. Cherie met us at the home upon check in. She took the time to explain different aspects of the property.
The house was perfect for our family of 13, including grandparents, parents and 6 grandchildren, as well as our 2 dogs. It had a well stocked kitchen, plenty of towels / beach towels and more beds with bedding than we needed.
We enjoyed the dock, floating dock, canoe, kayaks and paddle boat. The lake was calm with small islands to canoe around. An association beach with a sandy beach area was only a 3 minute walk or a short swim from the dock. Hiking trails were within walking distance.
The home has 3 levels with gorgeous views of the lake from the expansive deck, bedrooms and downstairs porch area.
A big thank you to Cherie, who was easily accessible and a wonderful host.
Our 11 year old granddaughter summed it up when she said “I loved the lake house! The lake was so much fun. I’d give it a 10 out of 10”. We are already looking forward to family fun at the lake next summer.

The hosts deserve 11 on a scale of 10. They are generous, considerate, and responsive. They have installed a stable, safe stairway to the lower level based on comments by prevoius reviewers about a difficult spiral staircase that used to be there. The home is well-stocked and comfortable. (Bring your own favorite board games.) We loved the boats and had a great
time with 3 generations—from college age to seniors. The latter were able to manage stairs to the dock and used the ladder to the pond, rather than jumping in as the younger ones did. Highly recommended!

The owners were absolutely wonderful. The property is perfect and my family and I enjoyed every second ❤️

We had a great time! Being right on the water and being able to use the boats was lovely! Great trip.

Plenty of space for everyone. Kids loved the canoe. Time around fire pit was fun. Large deck overlooking pond was beautiful. Totally enjoyed our time.

Stayed a week with 6 adults and four children. Plenty of room, and a well stocked kitchen, and new washer/dryer.
No beach at the house, but jumping off the dock and swimming to the raft was great. All boats were in good operating condition. 20 minutes to Alton Bay for resupplying. Plenty of places for running and hiking,

Nice place on the pond with some good space for a group. Would definitely stay here again. Thanks!

We were a party of ten ranging from 10 years old to 73 years. The view was awesome and there was plenty of room for everyone. The only drawback was the fact that there was no bathroom upstairs where four of the bedrooms were, which could be difficult for those with mobility issues. All in all we had a marvelous time. Cherie was wonderful to deal with, and we will definitely return!

The property is as advertised! We had 6 adults and 4 kids, ages 11 months up to 65 years, and had a very comfortable week. Everyone had a nice place to sleep, we cooked every night and found it easy to feed that many people with the dishes and cutlery provided. Table space for games and puzzles, we used the floaties and life jackets for the lake, very little tv watched but nice to have the option with the tvs and rokus provided! With the docks we found no need to go to the little beach down the street but it was a 2 minute walk if needed. Wolfboro wasn’t a long drive for a little lunch or some shopping. The deck furniture was comfortable and abundant, so nice to have that excellent grill as well. We used the fire pit and hammock, all
of the amenities. Didn’t know there were beach towels as well but there were regular towels, hand towels, and wash cloths, plenty for a big group. Very responsive hosts as well. Would stay again.

The pond is peaceful and perfect for swimming and kayaking.
The deck is huge and the views are beautiful.
The bedrooms are a nice size and there is plenty of room to gather.
As others have mentioned, not having a bathroom on the second floor can be inconvenient and the spiral stairs to the basement are shockingly steep.
A nice house for a large group.

This was the first time in many years that we as a family were able to vacation together. Our soon to be married grandson and his fiance and newly engaged granddaughter and her fiance were able to join us for a few days as well. We lived on the wonderful deck most of the time and totally enjoyed the view of Hills Pond. The water temperature was perfect for swimming and we enjoyed the use of all the water toys. The men went fishing every day and caught and released all that they caaught.
The scarey stairway to the lower level was a negative and the lack of air circulation down there made for a very musty smell. There was no screen door on the slider so it couldn't be left
open for circulation. The tiny shower in the lower bathroom was too small for the 6' and over men in my family, but we all managed. Thank you for sharing your house with us.

Good Fishing
The sunrise and sunsets are amazing. Fishing is pretty good too. Not a big lake so it is nice and quiet.

Lovely view of the lake and sunset
We had a great time. The kitchen is very well equipped and the space is great. The driveway is very steep and difficult to descend if you can't park below. The lack of an upstairs bathroom for the 4 bedrooms could be an issue. The spiral stair going to the lower level is extremely narrow. That said for our group none of that was really an issue and we had a great time.

Perfect weekend trip
We had a great time at this property swimming in the lake, taking the kayaks out to the nearby islands and hiking up nearby trails. The house is spacious with plenty of room outside on the deck. Would rent again

Serene, Restful, Hills Pond
We loved our stay at this beautiful restful location on the quiet and serene Hills Pond! This home suited our group of seven adults and one baby very comfortably, with space to spread out. The upstairs bedrooms and the sunroom bedroom were spacious enough and quite comfortable; the ceiling fans in each of these rooms helped keep us cool on the warmer evenings. There were TVs in each bedroom also, but we had too much fun on the lake to use them. (There is a bedroom in the basement, but we did not use that one.) We spent many delightful hours floating and diving into the cool, deep pond off the private dock. The lake association’s sandy beach, just a two minute walk away, was perfect for the baby to play and to access shallower water. We also enjoyed the use of the two kayaks to explore the pond and to get close up views of the water lilies in full bloom. There is also a canoe available, but we didn’t give that a try this week. The view from the deck is spectacular, especially at sunset, and the firepit is a fun gathering spot that overlooks the pond, too. Cherie, our host, could not have been nicer or more responsive to our questions. We appreciated her suggestions for local hikes and quick replies to any texts we sent. The only minor issue was an off and on again odor from the septic system on one side of the house, but Cherie has plans to address that immediately. Be aware that there are steep stairs, and a steep circular staircase if you have mobility issues. I, myself, would stay here again without hesitation, and heartily recommend this lovely oasis.

A beautiful spot for family fun
We spent a weekend together here as a family—three generations, 11 people—and it was everything we could have wanted and more. The spot on Hill’s pond is gorgeous. The house is roomy and has everything you could need. The space is even nicer than it looks in the pictures. We kayaked and canoed and swam. We had a big bbq and ate on the deck. In the evening we roasted marshmallows at the fire pit. We even used the ping pong table and the treadmill. Perfect!

Excellent Family Getaway
We VERY much enjoyed our time at this property! One night we had 10 people staying and hardly saw anyone! The stone area in front of the bottom level is PERFECT for corn hole. With an audience area nearby at the fire pit! The kayaks, canoe and raft were excellent for entertaining everyone from 5 to 50 year old. The kids caught sunfish and even bass right from the dock. The location is quiet and clean. We hope to return next summer! Very highly recommended!

Family Fun
It is difficult to find a place to accommodate 11 people. This was perfect, enough space for everyone to have personal time when needed but close enough to share the experience. Host was wonderful and offered suggestions for local activities. The lake is beautiful and we would definitely stay here again. Canoe and kayaks was a great bonus of which we took advantage.

Huge Lake House
Literally everything we needed was supplied, we only needed to bring food. 10 of us slept very comfortably and even though it’s on a pond, it definitely was more like a lake!
