About this cabin rental
This is a studio style rustic cabin located on the main street Big Bear Blvd near popular attractions, such as The Village a mile away, and Snow Summit less than a mile away. This cabin features full wood logs as part of the architecture, cozy private spa and fireplace to complete the Big Bear Lake experience!
The space
From the curb the property may not seem all that appealing, but once you enter the driveway lined by pine trees, you'll find a little gem hidden behind those pine trees. Plenty of room for parking, and much privacy for couples.
Guest access
The main cabin (originally the bed and breakfast building operated by the original owners) is not accessible to guest occupying this listing unless permission is given. A large selection of boardgames and DVDs are available in there, and you can request specific entertainment options from there to be used and then returned during your stay. You're welcome to use and enjoy any of the benches in and around the gardens on the property, and kindly share the barbecues :)

What a pleasant little cabin my husband and I stayed in.
We came to Big Bear Lake to celebrate our 23rd anniversary and hike around the mountains. Was pleasantly surprised at how located the cabins are to everything we planned to do, including our anniversary dinner.
The employees were very nice and accommodating. The house cleaner speaks Chinese only and uses a translation device to converse which works well. Will consider staying here again.

We had a very nice weekend stay here. The address in the listing leads you to the main lodge on the property and it took a bit of time to find our cabin since we arrived late at night, but the host was very resposive to our messages in helping us find the Sierra Madre cabin, which was cabin 3 on the property. I read some reviews with comments about the couch being old and dirty, but I'm thinking they must have replaced the couch since then because it seemed to be in pretty good shape when we were there (although we did not use the pull out bed)

Sofa is in need of replacement, its broken down horribly. Carpets should be steam cleaned. No remote control for tv.

I got this cabin for my husband’s birthday. But it was too unexpectedly bad.
Kitchen was not equipped at all.
No kettle,no scotch,no clean spoon,knife…
Very dirty and old.
In description they mentioned about having barbecue. No barbecue was there.
In the picture there was firewood, but no firewood was in the cabin.(we had to buy it from them).
I extremely do not recommend this dirty cabin to anyone.
Windows were too dirty,we couldn’t even see outside.
Sofa was so so old.
Carpets were not vacuumed properly.
Outside area was full by trash and unusable stuff.
Very bad experience.
I felt really ashamed about my birthday gift to my husband.

As a single dad, I travel with my little one frequently. Great cabin that is centrally located. It was like a step back in time, but in a good way. Whenever I travel, I always find a place with a kitchenette, this saves me money. I purchase my food and then take with m to cook on site. This way I can afford to take my daughter out to eat. This is a great setup, kitchen, living area, bedroom and bathroom. Even though it was cold, we sat outside at the cute tables and chairs to feel the sun. This was the first time we stayed, will be back again. Thanks!

Warm and cozy cabin.

super cute cabin. the cabin is in a very convenient location and very close to the village, restaurants and shopping. i was very happy with our stay here.

The cabin was nice, clean and warm. Perfect for 2-3 people. It sleeps 4, but it's very small and even with 3 people it gets tight. Close enough to lifts to walk (about 15-20 min).

First impression: it was very confusing to figure out which cabin was ours exactly. The address will lead you to the main house at the front of the property, but the little tiny condos are all along the back. There was no one there to guide us and tell us where to go. Finally an elderly woman found us and was able to lead us to the correct place. (Thank you)
Then, we were able to play in the snow a little bit on the sleds, which was cool. But when we bunkered down for bedtime and pulled the couch bed out for our two sons to sleep on, the mattress was littered with rat droppings, and old cough drop wrappers. Who knows when the last time the sheets have been changed?! I have stayed in many VRBO‘s in my life, but not once have I ever experienced rat droppings in the bed. These were the most unsanitary rental conditions I’ve ever experienced. Not to mention, there was an extreme odor upon entering the place. We couldn’t tell what it is at first, but I’m willing to bet it has something to do with the rodent population that’s in there.
The description says that there’s a spa on the premises, but there was no spa to be found. I reached out to the owners to help a fellow tenant figure out where her cabin was, but no one ever got back to me.
I even gave the owners a chance to reconcile themselves before posting this review, but to no avail. Very bad communicators and poor customer satisfaction. Quite disgusting, do not recommend

Bed was more than worn in, parking at the property was not big enough for vehicle and fire place didn’t work well.

We stayed at this property for 2 nights during a blizzard. We never received an email with instructions on how to check in so I had to call the property manager on arrival. He was very helpful and sent me a text with the code for the key box. The cabin was cute and just right for my wife and I, although we couldn’t figure out the TV. The fireplace was a nice alternative anyway. It was convenient having a gas stove, microwave and coffee maker. It was a little noisy because walls were shared with neighbors. My 4WD SUV got stuck in the driveway due to ice but fortunately other guests helped push us out. The Chinese family that worked there were great with trying to keep the paths to the rooms clear of snow and helping us get wood for the fire. Overall, it was a memorable stay and I would come back again.

Overall the stay was pleasant. Heaters were brought in when the heater did not work

My friends and i needed a place to relax for a weekend to getaway from the rigors of grad school life. This was a perfect, relaxing place to stay while we were away. It felt private enough but not too remote and it was very neat when we arrived. Appliances worked well and we were very comfortable.

The Sierra Madre cabin we stayed in was exactly as advertised. We enjoyed the location as trips to the north shore, shopping, and skiing were very easy. Only one complaint: the bed is too soft. After 3 nights, we were pretty sore.

Our cottage was super cozy. Had everything we needed for a comfortable 3 day stay in Big Bear. Lovely decor inside and a great ambiance when we sat at the table outside our cabin. Definitely will return next time we visit the area.

This is a lovely little spot. Located close enough to downtown and very close to Snow Summit. The unit was very cozy with pine paneling and a stone fireplace and a nice outdoor seating and eating area. I would definitely stay here again!

I would definitely stay at the location again. The property was well maintained and clean. The room on the surface looked very well kept however when you pull out the bed from the couch there where mouse droppings. I was not sure if it was because there where strong storms and that is why or if they did not do a deep clean. But I would book again but make a comment about deep cleaning before we arrive.

Cozy cabin, great location
This cabin is in a great location. Very cute and cozy. Overall we enjoyed our experience. We did experience a mouse in the cabin nibbling on our food, but we are in nature so that’s kind of a given. There was a mouse trap in the property we weren’t aware of which was a little startling when we found it. But our stay was overall good.

Nice quiet time spent with my wife. Thank you

Minus the ants in the bathroom, the rat droppings in the pull out couch, and the unvented kitchen, this place wasn’t bad. It is in need of a deep clean. It is off the main road so you can hear traffic but it is close to the village and shops. I wouldn’t return but it was just an okay stay.

Nice place in a great location. sadly we found rat poop on the blankets which they nicely offer to change. the next morning we found rat poop again on the stove and dining table.
It would be a great stay if they can take care of the rats problem.
