Very comfortable cottage with everything you could need. In a good location for walking & visiting areas of interest. Local pub serves lovely food
Nothing it was lovely
5.0
It was well equipped, cozy and clean in a lovely village very close to the local pub .

Excellent location with a very good and friendly pub a few yards from the cottage . Friendly hosts on hand should there be a need - not that we needed them! Lovely touches around the cottage with a welcome hamper, plus tea, coffee pods, milk in the fridge, shampoos, dishwasher tablets etc - in fact everything thought of. Lovely comfortable beds!
Nothing but a couple of suggestions. We were able to use the outdoor seating area as the weather was kind to us. One of the areas is quite small and especially if we were with children could be deemed a little unsafe as although there are solar lights around the seating area it could do with some lighting on the steps and some low border fencing. A hook on the inside of the en-suite bathroom door would also be helpful.

The position of the property in the heart of the Peak District was great and the property was absolutely gorgeous, the interior design just outstanding. I would recommend, unreservedly, James Cottage to anyone wishing to visit the Peak District.
Nothing!

This was a perfect stay. Great hosts really pleasant and helpful. Great location, great facilities, garage to store bikes, pub across the road that does food. the cottage was beautiful, great shower and lots of little things were there to make you stay better. we even had cake and prosecco on arrival. little things like dishwasher tables, washing up liquid and coffee and tea bags were provided to make you stay that much easier. The garden was lovely and a great palce to eat or just relax and the summerhouse was a nice touch. will be going back

A beautiful cottage with all the home comforts. There is a lovely patio area in the garden and a
summer house where you can sit if the weather is inclement. The owners where very helpful and provided everything we needed.

very well equipped and nicely decorated and presented.
Marcus and Mel were very helpful and accommodating and we would not hesitate to revisit.

Excellently stocked kitchen, in terms of appliances and pots & pans etc. Also, the underfloor heating was much appreciated.

Cottage was immaculately presented, very comfortable and the hosts made every effort to ensure we had all we needed. There was plenty of space, an excellent open plan kitchen, which was extremely well appointed. Upstairs provided more than adequate facilities with 2 wash/bathrooms. Outdoor patio area plus summer house was also a very nice touch
Although there was no terrestrial TV (not a priority for us, but maybe for some) the hosts provided many other alternatives via a good size, Smart TV

We loved our stay here. It was easy to find, welcoming and comfortable. We wished we were staying longer and will certainly return to James Cottage if we ever come back. If you want a Peak District village experience, then I highly recommend James Cottage. Our hosts were lovely and respectful. This was a perfect place to stay, relax and enjoy the local area.
There was little not to like. My only suggestion would be to provide some coffee pods for the Nespresso machine.

What a marvellous cottage! We loved everything about it!! Highly recommended.

A lovely cottage, equipped to the brim, furnished lavishly and immaculately clean. We were greeted upon arrival with a hamper with a bottle of bubbly and regionally baked carrot cake. The owners reside adjacently, and Marcus was always about to give us helpful pointers and an affable chat.
The village is quaint and idyllic, perfect for a trot along its many public footpaths, and well located for day trips into Bakewell, Manchester, and much of the Peak District. We didn't get to try the local pub, but the menu looked appealing and it came highly recommended. Next time, perhaps.

The cottage was faultless, clean and tidy, we took our 22 month old and they put Stair gates up for us and left toys out, so thoughtful.
Need egg cups for boiled eggs.

I liked everything about James Cottage - the decoration was the perfect blend of homely and stylish, the sofas and beds were comfortable, plenty of toilet / wash facilities (surprise en-suite!), spotlessly clean, everything looked and felt high quality and luxurious. Easy to follow instructions for fire/heating etc, incredibly peaceful, slept exceptionally well without any disturbance, gorgeous location with countryside as far as the eye can see. Lovely hosts with the perfect mix of friendliness without being intrusive. A wonderful welcome hamper with delicious goodies.
I couldn’t fault it!

This is a beautifully renovated well equipped cottage up to a very high standard; the ambience is akin to that of a 5 star hotel. For example , welcome basket of Prosseco and delicious cake ! No corners have been cut to make this a great place to stay. The village is an excellent base for walking , birding, photography and exploring the Peak District. The slightly raised garden at the back of the property was full of lovely flowers when we were there. The village boasts a popular pub , a church and a good children's playground which is next to the cottage. Owners live next door and were helpful and not intrusive.
You have to drive about 4 miles to the nearest supermarket in Buxton (no shop in village) - but Tesco delivered without a problem. No country views from inside the cottage - although the outlook to the garden is very pleasant. All UK properties are expensive this year but for this one you will pay the price but get the quality to match

James Cottage was even better than expected. A lovely welcome basket was there for us on arrival with lemon drizzle cake and Prosecco and a bottle of milk put in the fridge. Chelmorton is very well situated for walking in the White Peak and there is a really nice pub just opposite. Mel and Marcus are very helpful and friendly. Marcus gave us details of local walks.
The cottage is well equipped it and the pretty garden outside are beautifully maintained. The best cottage we have stayed in so far.
Absolutely nothing
