About this apartment rental
A beautiful shepherd's hut, perfectly hidden away with a wonderful view of the Norfolk countryside. This romantic little hut is a great place to escape and so carefully thought out; from the decking with its Japanese Ofuro wood-fired hot tub, chiminea and mini fish pond, to its Sonos smart speaker (with Alexa) and power shower.
This gorgeous hideaway is open all year round - and why wouldn't it be?! The inside of the hut has been designed with chillier winters in mind - there is underfloor heating, double glazing and insulation throughout. The bedroom area boasts a comfortable king-size bed with a pocket sprung mattress and built-in side tables. The kitchenette in the hut is fully equipped and has everything you could possibly need to cook up a storm after a day exploring. There is a combination microwave/oven, a two zone induction hob as well as a fabulous butler sink. If you like listening to the radio, or some music whilst cooking then you are in luck! The hut comes with an Sonos smart speaker (with Alexa) and there is also Wi-Fi. Warm up or refresh yourself after a long day with the walk-in power shower and a heated towel rail in the bathroom adding that extra luxury.
Outside, there are not many decking areas that compare to this! This large decked area faces out with views of the rolling farmland and countryside. It is a wonderful place to sit and enjoy a drink, with the chiminea to keep you toasty and sound of the miniature pond and water feature to soothe your worries away. If you would rather cook alfresco, there is an electric barbecue on the decking, and, for a small additional cost of only £80, you can sit back and unwind in the Japanese Ofuro wood-fired hot tub. There is no better way to spend an evening than relaxing in 40°C, listening to the owls and gazing at the stars.

Had a fabulous time, hot tub was good fun to get lit and warm up.
Nice a quiet surroundings, tree laser was great to watch when chilling out.
Bed was a little hard but that’s personal choice as others might like it that hard.

We had a fantastic time, the customer service was great, hot tub was great, really cost living space , perfect for a couples get away.

a weekend away to the pheasant was a relaxing experience. Nights enjoying the hot tub , bbq and peaceful setting made by the fire and fairy lights! We ventured off to banham zoo and enjoyed a Sunday roast at the crown a few minutes drive down the road:)
Although the hut is very close to the owners house, it really doesn’t matter as the hut is turned away from the house and facing a cute field ( it’s very private ) so the only time you really realise you are in their garden is when you’re driving in so don’t let this put you off!

Wanted a complete break from everything after recent events in our life,, came here to get away from everything , relax and not give a care about anything in the world to recharge our battery’s ,, and we was t disappointed , very nice location, a very friendly cat that visits at points of the day and a hot tub that relieves stress ,, all in all a great way to unwind and nice place to stay

My wife and I had a lovely stay at The Pheasant - it's a charming getaway location, lovely scenery, cosy and comfortable & the hot tub was great, 10/10 - will hopefully be staying again in the future :)

Wonderful time at the Pheasant. We had everything we needed and the hut is well equipped and organised. A perfect place to get away from everything and an enjoyable first stay in Norfolk. Thank you.

Lovely little hideaway. Is located nearer to owners residence than anticipated. Also need to mention that the hot tub is located only 20ft or so from a farm track which, during my stay, was used a fair amount. The hot tub is partially screened but not enough that we didn't get the odd wave from passing tractors etc! The hut could have been cleaner, the windows and particularly the shower screen need attention. Not a fan of fleecy grey Teddy bedding either...please consider plain white cotton, I'm sure most people would prefer this. Having said all of that, we did relax, we were comfortable and also enjoyed a visit from a lovely cat. Just a few tweaks and it would be perfect!

Even though it was in someone’s back garden, a large back garden, it’s very private lovely Wood fired, hot tub, Chimney the place was immaculate and very pleasant. Would recommend and will go back.
Highly recommend.

Really lovely place to stay and everything was thought out well, such as the amenities. Only downfall was the bathroom could have done with a clean, but cleaning items are provided so we made do, Hot tub was lovely and would recommend:)

Overall we had a lovely time and enjoyed our stay. There were just a few disappointing aspects - it seemed dusty and like it hadn’t finished being cleaned, the vent in the bathroom was thick with dust and the glass in the shower was smeared with dirty marks. We kept finding dead flies in corners, shelves etc. We also found there wasn’t enough fire starting product to maintain and keep re lighting the fire which was a shame. There was a can of empty bug spray which we really could have done with. The citronella candles outside we tried to light but were on their last legs and need to be replaced. The insects are relentless so these things would have helped. Most annoyingly I had emailed ahead a few days before to ensure the hot tub would be started up and ready for when we arrived, which it was not. I’m not sure what happened there but it seems the message hadn’t been passed on. We made the most of it and enjoyed our time.

Lovely chill out getaway
Very nice and helpful owner, beautifully clean and very well equipped. Very high standard of fittings and has everything you need. Large comfy bed, proper kitchen and lovely shower. Although it’s in the owner’s large garden, it’s totally private as they have positioned it well and screened everything off. Best advice is take enough food for your stay as there’s an adequate fridge and then stay on site the whole time and just relax and enjoy it.

Plesent pheasent
A very plesent stay with a lovely warm welcome. A lovely secluded spot at the bottom of a garden. All you would need for a short stay can be found at the pheasent.
The one and only little thing I could say would make the pheasent any better, would be bug nets on the windows and fly door curtains/ strips. As quite a few flies as would be expected in the countryside. Ut for anyone like me who likes the outside but not the bugs, I like to have a safe haven away from them.

Prefect romantic getaway
Julie was an amazing host, meeting us on arrival to explain where everything was and we loved the flap Jack's she'd left to welcome us ❤️
The hut comes complete with everything you could need for the weekend. The bed is very comfortable, the shower has good water pressure and you are well stocked for toiletries!
The guide book had all the info you could ask for and more and the laminated walking guides to explore the local area were a brilliant idea.
As we'd called ahead the hot tub was ready on our arrival and what a treat it was! We topped the fire up later in the evening and the water was still warm enough for a quick morning dip the next day! There is more than enough wood for both the hot tub and the fire, both of which we enjoyed.
The location is secluded and while you are in Julie's garden, we didn't see her after we'd been greeted, meaning we had a peaceful private weekend to relax and unwind.
Thoroughly recommend!

Unclean
Sadly the property was not clean on arrival and the first morning was spent purchasing cleaning items so we could clean the property. We didn't feel it had been cleaned since the last occupants. The outdoor decking was very dirty and solar lights around the hot tub were not working.
The hot tub was nice and eggs and milk were provided. Shower was decent and underfloor heating waz a nice feature. We felt if more care was taken to housekeeping (especially with Covid) and lighting had been working it would have been a better stay.

Amazing
I booked this trip as a surprise for my partners 50th birthday and it was a perfect weekend. Julie was so accommodating and purchased balloons for me so that the hut could be decorated when we arrived. The hut is so lovely and has everything you need, the hot tub is great and very secluded.
To top the weekend off we had perfect weather and my partner proposed to me! Would highly recommend & we hope to return again.

A tranquil escape from reality.
We chose The Pheasant as an escape out of London when lockdown eased up. It was perfect. The hut itself is so clean, warm and beautifully appointed. I loved all the little touches, especially the flamingo fairylights!
Having the chimenea, hottub, and BBQ on the deck mean you don't actually want to leave. Though if you do, there's a cute little pub in the local village for variety. The owners are really friendly and welcoming but leave you alone (unless you need them.)
I have already passed on the details to several friends as I've been raving about it so much.
