The name is well chosen, as it is a cozy atmosphere. The fact that it is quite small makes people more stressless and opened to talk to everybody.
The kitchen is quite small, but actually didn't bother me as people doesn't cook at the same time.

Great atmosphere with everybody relax. Outside couches are comfortable ! The AirCon in the room makes sleeping possible compared to the outside furnace.
The rooms are quite small but lockers/closet makes it easy to store everyone's bags,.

Very clean, easy check in process, I was talking to someone by sms but he was super friendly. He sent me a list of things to visit which was much appreciated. Many backpackers so it had a good vibe. Very nice room as I had a double bed :)
Add one multiple plug please

The location, my flight was cancelled so I got an bonus holiday extra in Darwin. With the local bus (Free of charge they waved the ticket price away) to the Airport. All need to sees are in walking distances from the hostel. 100% motivated people who end, start their work holiday in Australia, or people like me who enjoyed to be in between people who have the same interest, and of course saving lots of money! An hotel next door via booking.com would have costed me € 180,00 for two nights, now I spend € 18,00 a night. This is for a missed flight an very nice bonus. Yes, you sleep with max 6 in a room, close your eyes and sleep well; I did not mind to be with others! The shower(s) were extreem: hot and cold and cleaned. Lots of soap is available and nice balconies and relax area and outside kitchen are available. I did not use it, but even washing machines and refrigeration are free to use. And that all with an happy manager, who provided lots of good tips, incl. an tip how to go to an Zen bar serving free (yes, I did not pay) food! Talk go him and you can even safe dinner that way, the view you get from Zen is the best spot in Darwin 360 degrees view on the 16th floor!
Hard to say yes, maybe something then:
a place to lock your valuable items like your passport and cards over night. A safe box, or an cubboard to lock yourself when you take an shower would be an improvement. Now I left my wallet, money and pasport under my pillow when I took a shower. But all people were so nice that I felt I could thrust them.

Cheap / a bed for the night.
Japanese bidet in one of toilets.
Reasonably secure.
Found it:
Shabby
Unclean in places - cigarette stub litter on floors and on food preparation surfaces.
Smell of weed downstairs when long term (I believe) resident workers returned late afternoon.
Noisy at night
A few notably anti social characters - my roommate drunk and incoherent with the associated smells of stale beer and fart.
Disorganised rooming, I was unknowingly allocated a bed in a female room. An embarrassing surprise when I woke early.

Did the job! My cousin and I shared a private room here.
Hostel was far enough away from the main street to be able to get a sound night sleep but still close enough to ride a scooter into town.
My bed was surprisingly so comfy for a hostel and I am a princess when it comes to accomodation lol.
the toilet paper brand could be better lol but that's being so extra - it was honestly fine.

Facilities are basic but functional. Check-in was simple and communication was good.
Mattress cover underneath sheet was stained and should have been washed or even discarded.

The staff was amazing
The beds were uncomfortable. For the price. I would've liked a bit more activities or something that felt like I was getting value out of what I was spending. Like a free breakfast or low laundry costs.

Bed quality was really good, I stayed in a private room, the quality of the bed was very comfortable.
Communication was quite weird to check in, lucky I message the property way ahead before arrival. if you are arriving before midnight, you are very likely to be ghosted by the property, I saw a lot of people had to sleep on the courtyard because the property didn't reach out, my tip: get in touch and chase up to get your check in details.

There is a pool with a few sunbeds. One staff member (Valentin) was friendly.
The review refers to the Darwin Hostel (which does not seem to exist officially yet). When I wanted to check in at the Cozy Hostel, I was told on the spot that it was fully booked and that they had to rebooked me in the Darwin Hostel. Once there, I walked through a construction site to the "hostel". Everything has more of a camping feel: a small kitchen outside. The beds are in a dark and small container. The showers and toilets were very dirty and partly not working at all, there was no cold water at the sinks. Price/performance does not fit at all ($56).
But the worst came when I wanted to book another night there out of necessity (because ALL hostels in Darwin were fully booked). Since you can't book the Darwin hostel online yet, I was supposed to send my bank details (including the CVC) by text message. I refused (due to security concerns) and as an answer to that the owner (!!!) of the hostel himself insulted me personally (see pictures for SMS message). I really don't expect much from a hostel... but I have never experienced anything so unprofessional.

The property was clean, tidy and quirky like any normal hostel setting with poorly painted but colourful walls and decorated interior/ exterior.
The mattress was HORRIBLE.

Well nothing except the help of the manager Valentin. He isn't the owner and tried his best to sort everything out.
The beds are absolutely terrible, the rooms are uncleaned, the rooms look like jail, we were laughing about it with the backpackers tho. The kitchen isn't one, only two cups and three glasses for the whole hostels. No hot shower either. I mentionned that to the staff and the owner had the worst reaction ever, no comment. Well just looking at the answer he gives to the bad reviews on Google tell a lot about how he treats his clients... Honestly the worst hostels I had been to in two years of travel!
