Enjoy this large 4 bedroom/3 bath north woods getaway on beautiful Lac Courte O'reilles Lake located just south of Hayward, WI.
This 5,000 acre lake provides great Walleye, Muskie, and Bass fishing, ample room for recreation water sports, a large sandbar for throwing the anchor in, playing in the water and socializing, as well as dock accessible restaurants/bars for meals and entertainment including live bands. We have a private dock that allows for space available for a boat and sandy beach that is great fun for adults and young children. Miles of ATV/Snow mobile trails are also accessible no need to trailer.
The lake home is situated in a small bay at the northeast corner of Lac Courte O'reilles Lake, a short boat ride (or snow mobile ride) to Trails End Resort. Enjoy some dock fishing, an outdoor grill for an evening meal, and a camp fire with a great view. Take a 10-15 minute drive to Hayward for shopping, mini-golf, and a trip the famous candy store. Several golf options and restaurants close by as well as LCO Casino.
Boats- LCO is an amazing boating lake. It's clear clean water is excellent for swimming, skiing and fishing. The lake has a secret sand bar where boaters like to anchor and swim but the majority of the lake is generally fairly deep and has a sandy bottom. We have several pontoon options we rent out to guests. We have two 2021 Benningtons, one with a 90 hp motor and one with 125 HP motors. We have several cabins on this lake so it's first come first server for the pontoon and it often books up early. Your Bayshore Retreat rental also includes a private dock to dock your boat. Additional water toys and boats are available to rent on the lake. Please ask for a list of places. Several well maintained public boat launches are also located near the cabin. Power is available at the lake shore for charging boat batteries etc.
Fire pit and gas or charcoal grill- There is a nice fire pit by the lake for you to relax by and enjoy star gazing or just enjoy the lake and the outdoors. We also supply a Gas Grill with propane on the upper deck for our guests to use free of charge. The charcoal grill we do not supply the charcoal. There are also lawn chairs by the lake to sit back and relax while enjoying the lake views or star gazing at night. The screened in porch also has a table and chairs where you can sit and have a meal or play games while still enjoying the north woods.
Bayshore Retreat is located approximately 9 miles south of the city of Hayward. It's about 140 miles northeast of the Twin Cities Metro area. The Hatchery Creek Trailhead (Birkie Trail and CAMBA mountain Bike Trail access is also approximately 8 miles from the cabin. There is a casino nearby as well as several wineries.
Parking- you can park up to 4 cars as well as several boat trailers or snowmobile trailers at Bayshore. Sorry, we do not allow camping in RVs on the property or tents.

I was in town for a couple weeks of work and the property had plenty of room for me and the crew!
4.7
Nice property. Very clean and lots of space if you had a lot of people like we did (8 people). We rented the 90hp pontoon which was also very clean and well maintained. Water is extra clear and highly recommend staying here.

Loved the property, the cabin was beautiful and clean! Very warm area to run our morning meetings, beds were comfy, and everything worked as it should.
Couple changes I'd make if it were mine... there were no towels in the bathroom so i had to run to town the night we got there, no soap dispensers in shower, and the upstairs shower curtain could be improved so that water doesnt leak on floor.
Other than these minor things the stay was amazing, thank you!

Great place for our large family during the holidays.

My family enjoyed our stay. Plenty of room but super cozy! Loved the reclining sofas in the great room. It’s a bit of a hike uphill to get back to the cabin from lake but manageable. Always a bonus when you can bring our pet! Great communication from the host as well!

This home was perfect for us. We were looking for an area of Wisconsin we hadn’t visited before, wanting to do some hiking and touristy stuff. The Ice Age Trail was within a half hour drive so that was also a plus. The home itself was very clean and stocked with all the essentials. A short walk took us to the sandy beach, which I have to admit was a pleasant surprise for me. I was able to walk our dog on multiple routes also. Very pleasant experience for all of us.
4.7
Cabin is just as listed. We had a delightful time! The beach was perfect for children with a gradual slope and was easy to navigate with the pontoon. We would definitely stay again and recommend to others.
4.7
Property was clean and everything you need for a comfortable stay. Owners and managers are great to work with. 2nd time stay here and would recommend to anyone.
4.7
Easy access to the snowmobile trails, great views, and short drive to town.
4.7
Great place to stay for snowmobile trip. Went with a group of 10. Works out very well and was able to access the lake right fro the property. Everything was as advertised at the cabin. Will considering coming back again if we come back to this area.

A group of 10 of us stayed on a snowmobile trip. This was a perfect spot for the area. Place was very nice, then we found the basement. Definitely recommend this property.
4.7
We had a nice time at the cabin. It was very clean and the fireplace kept us warm on the chilly nights.
4.7
nice cabin, could use more parking or a turn around for boats, otherwise we had a nice time

Great girls weekend getaway!
4.7
This lake home was well outfitted and plenty spacious for our group of 12. Nicely furnished and very functional, ample parking, nice views of woods and lake. Beautiful place!
4.7
Very comfortable and well maintained vacation house! Nice we could tie the boat up to the dock. Bring a fishing cart (my beach fishing cart worked great) to bring things back n forth to the house.
4.7
We rent one of the 3 cabins available here depending on our group size every couple years. Everything about them is amazing. Our dog loves it. The fishing is excellent as well location is just close enough yet far away enough from it all. Highly recommend
4.7
The home was very nice with plenty of room for all of us. County Road E was very noisy at times. The tv in the great room worked well after some trial and error. There were six remotes; some of which we have no clue what they were for.
We never did figure out how to operate the TVs in the basement or the loft.
There was lots of refrigerator and freezer space. The grounds could use a little TLC. There are large weeds growing in the roof gutters and although the grass was mowed, a few days could be spent trimming suckers and weeds. The house is a good two hundred yards up hill from the lake. You can’t see this in the pictures.
That’s the negatives but the pontoon was great, the beds were comfortable, appliances worked and we had a wonderful time.

We had a blast

Family cabin trip success!
We really enjoyed our stay. Cabin was spacious for all of us. Cabin was clean and had all the essentials. Rooms were comfortable. Wish it was a bit closer to the lake but it was still a quick walk down for swimming and fishing.

Snowmobile Trip
Stayed for our annual snowmobile trip. The place was clean and had everything needed for a comfortable stay. Trail access was right outside the door
4.7
Overall nice property. It is great for snowmobiling as you can access the trail right from the house. Parking is a little tough with trailers, but manageable.

Winter fun
Cabin was cozy clean and fun. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay

We have a tradition of spending New Years with friends at a northern retreat, this property worked well. Games, movies, wining and dining all were great. Fireplace is a plus, although there is a limited time switch so you need to get up and twist the dial every hour. Reasonably clean, although kitchen cabinets could use a wipe out. Not really good for snow shoeing, the lake surface was either chewed up by snowmobiles or water just under the snow. I would recommend to anyone wanting a winter getaway and it looks like a great location for summer fun.

Cozy thanksgiving getaway
Had everything we needed to comfortably stay multiple days. Everything was as it appeared and nothing was missing

We had a girlfriend's weekend...all 65+. This was all we hoped. Loved the screened-in porch. Put steaks and baby potatoes on the grill. It was well laid out, lots of room, comfortable, located in a quiet area. Beds were comfortable... ceiling fans in bedrooms. We forgot to stop for a bag of ice, so glad to find the refrigerator had an ice maker. Never did figure out how to turn the fireplace on...called owner who replied promptly, but the switch on the wall he said would turn it on,
only turned on lights, as it was labeled. So, we just turned the furnace up. All switches labeled, which was very nice! You might want to bring a nightlight....the one in the loft didn't work and there wasn't one on the main level.... it's nice to have when you get up at night in a strange house. Enjoyed our visit!

Gorgeous ,cozy home
Gorgeous home. The only downside was the walk to and from the water. It was a bit difficult for myself and a toddler, especially carrying wood to the fire pit.The beds were nice and having 3 bathrooms was definitely a bonus!
4.7
We had a family get away and this property exceeded all of our expectations. Close to Hayward, on the water, and secluded. We really enjoyed our stay and would recommend it to anyone.

Perfect week!
We loved our week at the cabin! Wish we had two weeks! Everything was perfect! The cabin was very comfortable and we had everything we needed to make ourselves at home. Jon was always very responsive to any questions we had and answered them quickly. The three full bathrooms was a bonus as was the screened porch. We lived there! Especially on the nights it poured! We highly recommend staying here! Don’t forget to rent or bring your boat! And your floaties to enjoy the wonderful quiet bay! We will be back! Thank you Jon!

This cabin was clean, had a great screened porch and had sufficient bathrooms to handle our group of 7. We had a problem all week with the Wi-Fi. Only time we had good service was when we were first up and no one else was awake. More than 2 on at a time was a problem.
The home is not on the lake but is a short walk to a great sand beach which our grandson enjoyed a great deal.
Boat rental is available and if you're going to spend any time at all there makes a great deal of sense.

We had a great time enjoying the cabin and the lake during our annual fishing trip! Cabin was clean and comfortable, but is starting to show its consistent use as a rental. Unfortunately the paddleboat was full of water and stained with a bad smell so it was not able to be used. There was also a plastic box of beach items that appeared to be broken and full of water too so those items were not used either.
Comfortable area by the water and we enjoyed spending time there too.
4.7
We had a terrific time at the cabin. It's roomy and we quickly felt at home. A highlight for us was seeing a young bear several times. It was timid and quickly left the area once it saw us, so we didn't feel threatened. The lake was beautiful and we were thrilled to have a mature bald eagle fly out from the shore barely over our heads as we paddled by in a canoe. The only frustration we had was that certain amenities were lacking.

The cabin is spacious, and we had plenty of space. At night there is no need to count sheep, you can count ants! There were carpenter ants everywhere. The lake is down a big hill and was a great workout to go back and forth. The WiFi only really worked at night which kept us engaged with each other rather than our phones. All in all we did make the best of our weekend and had a great time.
