It was great.

The size of the unit is fine for two people, with the bed being generous (soft mattress). We found the unit easy to access and really enjoyed the patio for our pet and use of the grill. The kitchen has the most minimal set up I’ve ever experienced with 2 of each basic utensil, cup, plate and bowl. No cooking staples like seasonings, dry goods, oil, or sharp knives, missing correct coffee filters, or serving platters of any type. Further, the two coffee cups were unclean when we arrived, the bathtub/shower was dirty and the skylight leaked for two days during rainy weather. The bathtub was also very slippery and presents a fall hazard without a rubber mat. The toilet runs off and on all night. The kitchen faucet leaks despite all efforts to stop it. Without a nightlight, the bathroom is pitch black at night, so we donated one from Tru Value down the street. Finally, despite the extensive instructions left for study, the climate control unit was ornery and difficult to use.
We are seasoned travelers who go with the flow but this place is not luxurious or chic. It is basic, shabby and spartan.

We enjoyed walking to the Historic Holland Hotel with live music on the patio, dinner at the Riata Restaurant, and the interesting shops close by. Comfortable bed and great coffee.

This was a great location for visiting Big Bend. Property looks exactly like pics. Nice, plenty of hot water, comfortable bed and couch. Very nice to be a little to cook breakfast. Great communication with owner. Would stay again if in the area.

As I am familiar with Alpine, I knew in advance the general location of property. Exterior is very pleasing. Loft had some minor inconveniences, easily remedied. Overall, met all my needs.

I needed a place to stay while my son backpacked the Outer Loop trail at Big Bend. This was a perfect spot. April made the whole process easy and was readily available throughout the stay. Location was perfect, in walking distance to great shops and restaurants. Wi-Fi was great and I was able to work while I was there, including several video calls.
Place was clean and well provisioned and the outdoor (shared) patio with bbq, table and chairs, and small freestanding fireplace was really nice.

We really enjoyed our stay in the loft! The loft is located between the two main roads in Alpine and is very convenient for walking to/from bars and restaurants. There is a charcoal grill in the shared courtyard, which we used and was a great amenity to have available. We had our dog with us and there is a convenient grassy area by the courthouse with pet waste stations (just a block over). The convenience of that little spot was great for anyone traveling with pets. The parking in the ally is very tight, but we were able to park there with our truck with no problem. The train is close by, but we were not disturbed by it at all. I saw many comments about it when we booked and the host provided ear plugs so I was expecting the train to be loud. It was not loud at all. April was responsive to our needs while we stayed there. We loved our time in the loft and are already looking at the calendar to find a time to go back in the spring!

This was a great little find. It is a small studio, but offers a full fridge, microwave, stove, sink, seating area, dining table, large bed and bathroom. Alpine is about a 2 hour drive from Big Bend, but it is an easy, quiet, peaceful drive. Alpine itself doesn’t have much to offer in terms of restaurants or entertainment. I stayed Sunday-Thursday and many of the restaurants and shops were closed several of those days. But I came for the peace and the park, so that wasn’t too much of an issue for me.
The only concerns were that you could hear the neighbors talking/moving around. Of the four nights I stayed two were rather noisy, the other two were fine. There is a great little window by the front door, but it does let in a lot of light right to the bed when the sun rises. I could not get the streaming services to work on the tv. If there was laundry access, it would have been more desirable, but overall it was a great place for the price.

This was a great, quiet, place to stay. The central location was great. The worry about the train noise wasn’t needed. The bed is so comfy I slept right through it. Traveling alone I felt very secure. I was in the area to go to a camp reunion. I will re-rent and just enjoy Alpine.

We loved our stay. They provided ear plugs because of the train but neither of us needed them it was quiet we heard the train one time. The property manager bent over backwards to accommodate us, we will return on our next visit. 10 out of 10

Very well kept place in the heart of Alpine. We enjoyed all the amenities that April provided while also being in the heart of downtown Alpine. You can easily walk to all the restaurants and bars and not worry about driving/parking.
My wife and I will come back and make sure to stay here again. Thanks.

Overall the stay was excellent. The only suggestion is to make sure there’s extra dish rags and towels in the kitchen. Also ensure there is enough toilet paper for the length of stay. Otherwise it was clean and would recommend.

It is rare to rent a property that is exactly as advertised. All furnishings were new and the room was clean, comfortable, and quiet. I highly recommend this property especially if you are traveling with a pet.

Perfect spot for my son and I and the pups. Couldn't have been in a better location! Cute patio, friendly neighbors and quiet even though it faces the back of the hotel. Walking distance to all the fun stuff in DT Alpine. Will definitely stay again!

Great spot in downtown Alpine
Pictures in the listing don't do the place justice. It has been updated with a oven/range as well as a full size fridge. The Aveda bath products and local coffee provided were awesome as well. We really enjoyed the place!
