Enjoyed this great home located on the lower end of Outer Banks. Great location with everything you need close by. Beautiful views of inlet. Be sure and stop by the road where you see all the kites!

The house was very clean. It was stocked well. It was very comfortable and just what we needed. The cats were not an issue at all. They are well taken care of by a neighbor and not a nuisance. The house was exactly what we needed and close to the beach. Would definitely stay here again.

Everything was below standard
The house has Roaches and a opossum living under it and there are 20 pluss cats everywhere but it was decent, i wont stay at that location again because of the bugs and cats though.

Loved everything about this home 2 weeks we spent! The view was amazing on the water. Everything was just perfect for us ! House was fully stalked. Very Clean ! Beach close by. Fishing right off the dock from the back yard was a plus! . I've seen reviews regarding the cats next door. I made friends with all those cats. Was also hard saying goodbye to them as well.. being the big animal lover that i am , Neighbor takes amazing care of them ! Thank you Vacasa for a great stay ❤

Really enjoyed the area. Quiet neighborhood. Not to far to drive for day trips. Comfortable house.

About a 10min walk to public beach access across 12. Easy keypad entry. Convenient to dock kayaks. Have Rokus on the TVs but they required a Pin for guest access which we did not know. It would have been great if guest could sign into their accounts in the apps on their visit. That would have made the evenings seamless in finding things to watch. We didn't have young children with us, but I would think that would have been a huge perk.

House was nicely appointed for the price point . Could use more seating on deck, maybe a table. The seating at the counter was a little rickety as my boys are 6’2” and 6’6”. Loved water access for kayaks and paddle board. Outside shower was disappointing no water pressure and rusty nails in shower. Overall a very enjoyable week, love the Avon area.

Was able to check in early which was nice neighbor has a lot of cats which was fine with me but the housekeeping crew did not do a good job at all on cleaning the floors in bathrooms

About 3 days into the stay i went to put the glasses we used in the dishwasher. The dish washer was full of dirty dishes which means the cleaning staff didnt check it which makes me wonder what else they didnt check. They were probably left not done because there was no dish washer soap, this leads me to believe that prior guests were not using soap which means the dishes i used were only washed with water when put away. Also the neighbor has no fewer than 20 cats that leave feces in the yard while i avoided it all week i stepped in some while packing my truck the night before i left so i drove 12 hours home in a wet shoe.

This house has great potential, very comfy beds, all amenities on one level. We arrived to a dirty house, floors were sandy, cockroaches inside and out, and the neighbor has about 20+ cats roaming around outside. They would come up on our deck and lay around. We are allergic so this was not ideal.

Perfect beach house
Loved being on the canal, owner left kayaks and spent a lot of time exploring the sound. Kitchen well stocked with needed supplies. Beds super comfortable. Location great, short walk to ocean. Neighbor does have a lot of cats but she was super nice and cats were friendly or indifferent and not annoying at all. The only drawback was severe leaking toilet tank in master bathroom. Water to tank had to be shut off first day of arrival and plumber never showed all week. Previous review I read indicated this was a problem a few months back. Other than that, wonderful stay, wonderful home, well kept and clean.

Great location! Needs repairs.
The houses amenities are are dated. Had to clean the house when we arrived. The floors were very dirty. Had cockroaches everywhere. The yard and area under the house was like walking in a litter box. Had to clean our shoes every time before we entered the house. There are some deck boards that need replaced. The shower curtain poles would not stay up on their own, had to balance them very carefully and not touch until getting out of shower.

Very nice home!
We love the peace and quiet of staying on the sound and it was everything we could ask for.

Quaint but showing its age
Great location on the sound but renters need to be aware of the feral cat colony next door. The cats did not bother us but renters should know. Though the house could use some care and maintenance, we enjoyed our stay.

Cats and driveway
The driveway has a very big pot hole and it floods really bad and the neighbors has way too many cats that gets on your car and on the deck and you have to watch where you was walking and the cats uses under the house as a restroom and it smells

We loved the fishing, crabbing and easy access to beach. Also loved that the house was fully equipped in the kitchen!

We had a great time here, but didn’t spend a ton of time in the house. The view and location is wonderful, and the dock access to the sound was perfect for us as we came primarily to fish. Highly recommend walking to Froggy Dogs for lunch, dinner or Karaoke night. We used the Avon pier beach access daily and it was just a short drive away. The house is well stocked with kitchen supplies, and linens. There was also a set of beach chairs and kayaks in the storage room under the house. The fish cleaning station, outdoor shower and foot wash area were also great bonuses. There are also a lot of board games to play. With all that being said, there was several downfalls.
If you have a small car, take caution as the small dirt road you have to take to get to the house has large rutts and holes. The neighbor has a lot of, and by a lot, I mean A LOT (we counted more than 30) cats that like to get on vehicles, and leave their business in the yard to step on, so watch out. We stepped in cat poop within the first five minutes. The master bathroom toilet leaked a lot when you flushed it, but as long as you don’t lean against the tank, it will be ok. In addition, the main bathroom shower doesn’t drain very well at all. The back yard/waterfront area was great, but there is a large portion of fence that has fallen over in the back yard, and the back porch swing is broken. Ants were a major problem inside and out, and we had to keep everything in the refrigerator and stand with our food while we were cooking to make sure they weren’t getting into it. Overall this is just an old beach house without the bells and whistles, that hasn’t been shown a lot of TLC, so if you’re looking for high end luxury like a lot of the beach front houses have, this probably isn’t the house for you. That being said, we came to spend the majority of our time on the water or at the beach, so we were pleased with our stay, and would likely stay again, providing we could get it at the same rate that we had this time (~$150-200 a night).

Cute Home away from Home
This house seems a little older, but overall it's cute. There's no pantry space for groceries, so we had to stack all of our groceries on the counter. Though the cabinets are well stocked with various dishes, cups, pots & pans. This was a great vacation home for our family of 6!
