About this house rental
Our Big Bend Bungalow Casitas are spacious with spectacular views of the Chisos Mountains in Big Bend National Park to the East and South. With two queen beds, microwave, Keurig coffee maker, sink, and eat - at bar, the casita also boasts a private bath with a large Saltillo tiled shower. A stucco wall around the front provides privacy. The prime location is on State Highway 118 in Study Butte; minutes from restaurants and shopping and the Western entrance to Big Bend National Park. Also minutes from local outfitters for rafting, jeeping and ATV tours. After a day of hiking or rafting, you will appreciate the Casita's proximity to numerous restaurants, fuel and grocery stores. We are located just off Highway 118 so there is no need to hunt for the casita in the dark skies or on rough, high clearance vehicle required roads in the area. The casita has one of the best, unobstructed, views of the Chisos Mountains of any rental in the area.

Had an amazing time at Casita B and the folks over at the High Sierra are the absolute best!!!

Nice property, close to Big Bend NP and Terlingua sites. Clean, quiet and good A/C. Only downside was lack of communication from property manager. Sent two inquires and never heard back.

A friend and I stayed here while visiting Big Bend National Park. The casita was spotless, close to the park and provided a great place to rest in between park adventures!

This was exactly as described. It was clean and about as close to Big Bend that you could get outside of the park. The heat/cooling worked great as well as the wifi. It is bigger than it looks from the outside. Would stay there again.

Great spot! Perfect for Big Bend.

Great location. Right on the highway. Very close to Big Bend! GPS was a little off for finding the place- but the host gave easy directions to find it. Other reviews commented on the loud road noises- but honestly we didn’t notice it a whole lot.
Issues- No Wi-Fi during our stay. Due to location we did not have phone reception. We were able to use the gas stations guest Wi-Fi finally to contact the host. The response was they sent someone to look at it but it was never fixed during our stay. This was a huge inconvenience to us. We had no way of notifying our family we had made it safely. We have pets at home that we couldn’t check in on. Also- our son has food allergies that we would not have had any way of contacting emergency services if needed. We took that chance going into a remote area but it was advertised that there was Wi-Fi at this location.
There was no broom! I felt awful leaving a dusty home from our adventures.
Outdoor seating was nice for supper to watch sun set!

Great location for accessing the area. The fire pit and grill came in handy and made for some great nights. Beds were comfortable and house was clean and nice.
Only complaint is that it’s right on SH-118; road noise isn’t an issue but the house is a car length and a half off the road.

Great typical house. We spent very good time. The view is magnificent. It would be perfect if the property was provided with wood for the burning fire pit, portable cooktop, some pans to cook.

While the location was good for staying near Big Bend, the road noise is very loud and the one AC/heating unit is not user friendly for someone passing through town.. No instructions are provided on how to use it. We froze the first night because we could not figure out how to switch from AC to heat. The owner did respond to email after the first night and told us how to switch it to heat, but no further instructions were given. Then the next 2 nights we were up all night switching from heat to cool when it would get too hot. I’m sure if you stay during the summer when you want the AC on continuously it will be fine. Not ideal for winter time though. We were only there for 2 full days and one of those was waisted because we were all completely exhausted due to no sleep, which doesn’t mix with with young children. I might would expect this from a budget motel but not when paying this rate.

The Casita was perfect for our family. Great location, perfect place to start our Big Bend adventure. We will be staying here again for sure!

Great Location and views of the mountains and even stargazing. Easy checkin and air conditioning worked great.
The listing was inaccurate in that it listed fire extinguisher and first aid kit, neither were there at least that i can find. I'm a Safety guy, so maybe that's no big deal to others.
Also, we connected to network, but no internet. The info in the house gave a phone number to call for any issues. I tried contacting it for 2 days then got a reply that person had sold and another person now owned the Vrbo.
Overall clean place, few amenities (eg; no broom, no flyswatter,)
Fire pit was nice, and picnic table.
Would stay here again.

We enjoyed staying in this casita. It is kinda close to the highway but convenient to restaurants and BBNP. There is a small fridge and microwave and a large shower. Plenty of towels. The owner was very welcoming. Nice views. Would not hesitate to stay here again!

Perfect little casita
We had a great time staying here. It’s about 30 minutes from big bend, there’s a little grocery store close by, and the restaurant our host suggested was fun and had nice staff. The casita was perfect for our needs, full bathroom, comfy bed, kitchen with a mini fridge and microwave. Our host supplied keurig coffee and even left us a bottle of wine! There is a fire pit outside with wood. There is a charcoal grill available (you supply the charcoal and lighter fluid). We watched the sunrise each morning from the front porch and stargazed outside from the picnic table. If we return to terlingua we would love to stay here again. Thank you!!

Very comfortable and close to Big Bend. Wish it was further off the highway. Did not use courtyard due to heat and dust. Enjoyed our 3 night stay.

Would stay here again!
We loved our stay at the Casita. This was one of the only properties we found nearby with bathroom/shower. The casita was clean and comfortable with a nice sized mini fridge/freezer. The location is close to the main highway, but with little traffic, the road noise wasn’t too bothersome. Beautiful night sky sitting on the porch.

Close to Big Bend Nat Park. Comfortable and clean. Cozy, with a functional kitchen. Served our needs well. Town was practically empty with little to no dining. Dusty, dry, empty. No night life.

Casitas are a cool concept
Overall, loved the little casita and can't wait to stay again once the surrounding casitas are finished. Stars are absolutely beautiful out there in Terlingua and the patio/porch area with a fire pit is a really nice touch. Only thing is there is no stove top which would have been nice, not a dealbreaker though as there is a grill outside.
