About this house rental
Our Big Bend Bungalow Casitas are a spacious with spectacular views of the Chisos Mountains in Big Bend National Park to the East and South. With two queen beds, microwave, Keurig coffee maker, sink, and eat - at bar, the casita also boasts a private bath with a large Saltillo tiled shower. A stucco wall around the front provides privacy. The prime location is on State Highway 118 in Study Butte; minutes from restaurants and shopping and the Western entrance to Big Bend National Park. Also minutes from local outfitters for rafting, jeeping and ATV tours. After a day of hiking or rafting, you will appreciate the Casita's proximity to numerous restaurants, fuel and grocery stores. We are located just off Highway 118 so there is no need to hunt for the casita in the dark skies or on rough, high clearance vehicle required roads in the area. The casita has one of the best, unobstructed, views of the Chisos Mountains of any rental in the area.

Free standing Casita near Big Bend. Great location. Alittle remote but there is a grocery store and a few places to eat near by. Convenient for our trips into Big Bend. Nice bathroom and kitchenette. Would stay again.

We wouldn’t rent it again.

Nothing unique, but this one is located right on the road whereas most are set back away from the road, the air conditioner is insufficient, it stayed warm in the cabin even at night with the air conditioner on and the temperature outside around 60. And there was no Wi-Fi which we needed badly for uploading pictures.
We communicated with the managers but they did not or were not able to do anything.

This property was good. I don't know if it is worth the money, but it was the only thing left when I was planning my vacation in the area. We stayed for one night. The room is clean but basic, had enough amenities for one night, but any longer than that and the fridge would get full and we would have had to wash dishes constantly as there are only 4 of everything. We were looking forward to having a campfire, and based on reviews I was under the impression there was firewood included. Upon arrival, there was none, so I messaged the owner. We could not find any wood in town, so we had to light a bag of charcoal in fire in the pit. The next day the owner did get back to me and said she would have some delivered, but it was too late as we were leaving. Other than that, no complaints, it did the job for the one night we stayed. The ghost town nearby is super cute. The noise from the highway being so close didn't seem to be an issue, but it is definitely not a secluded cabin which would have appealed to us more for the price.

The property was nice because it had a full kitchen, and it was spacious in the casita. Supposed to be "dark sky" country, and you can see many stars. We see as many stars at home in AZ!

Thé Casita was exactly as the pictures … we thought it was perfect. My sister and I spent most of our time hiking and trip. The cabin was nice and refreshing to come back to every afternoon. It was very quiet and private. The AC worked great, the shower had plenty of nice hot water and the 2 queen beds were perfect for us and very comfortable with nice linens. The little kitchen was all we needed. Restaurants were close by but far enough away to give us quiet time and privacy.
We would definitely stay there again. The only negative was the wifi never worked and our cell phones were not getting much service most of the time

I can’t say enough about the location for our trip to Big Bend! The Wi-Fi didn’t work during our stay and that was a bit of an issue for us but I’m sure it’s been fixed. But Location is key! It is very basic (very) but met our needs. If you plan to cook you will have challenges but we didn’t and enjoyed some very good local establishments. I found it pricey for what it is but also realize it’s the going rate in the area with so few options. Because of location I would recommend and stay again!

A wonderful stay and so easy to get to Big Bend! Comfy beds, AC, coffee, it has everything you need for a great night stay!!!

This was a very cute little place to crash between Big Bend hikes. No issues with the property at all.

We enjoyed our Spring Break stay at the casita and found the place to be nicer than the photos show. Beds were comfortable and the place was clean. There were several options for k-cups for the Keurig coffee maker. Location was right next to a Big Bend Boating and Hiking company which we walked over to and booked a nice half day canoe trip for my family (kids ages 8 and 5). It’s about a 10 minute drive to Terlingua and 15 minutes to the Big Bend park entrance. It is right off the highway as other reviews mention but road noise was not a problem.
The only con is that we weren’t able to connect to the wireless, but were mostly out and about anyways.
We would stay here again.

Excellent property. Super close to Big Bend and all the things to do in Terlingua.

We had a good stay. Casita was clean and comfortable. Good communications with the host. The casita sits next to the hardware store which had a little more traffic than I expected but died down by the evening. Overall was happy with the experience.

Rental was not ready upon check-in, but was quickly rectified. We wanted a place close to the national park and Terlingua with a private bathroom. This casita checked those boxes. It was comfortable and we enjoyed the outside sitting area. Wi-fi was spotty.

Piece of cake booking. Just what we wanted. A place to sleep and watch the sun rise over coffee early. On the highway but we never noticed any noise. Likely a visitor could pay a lot more but it’s unlikely it would be more comfortable than this bungalow. Thumbs up. And the Park is right there.

Property description is accurate. It is like a basic motel room: 2 beds, shower, microwave, keurig and small fridge. I found the beds to be very comfortable. When we arrived it was 85* in the room due to a faulty AC. Some parts were left on the porch a couple of days later but it was never fully functional. With outside temps near 100* in the afternoons this was a problem. In addition to making sure the AC works, it would be a good idea to put a grab-bar in the shower (slick floor) and another next to the rather low toilet.

We love to hike Big Bend NP - this is a perfect location to do just that.

Casita was as expected with basics needed for overnight stay. You can watch sunrise from the front door seating area. Great location to Big Bend park! There were a couple restaurants around to eat. Small grocery store down the road.

Nice little space to relax both in inside and out, perfect for two people. Very close to Big Bend.

cute and convenient
the cabin was clean and conveniently located near the park. near the road, but road noise was not too bad at all. owners were communicative and helpful when we had a problem figuring out the heater.

The casita was quite new but poorly finished and appointed for a unit which cost a lot. Counters were 41" tall - no way to sit at the counter with the medium height stools provided. The sink was too small to wash a standard dinner plate. Floors were a mix of tile and unfinished cement. Firepit and firewood on the patio were a nice touch. Under-counter fridge was small, and a previous renter left a bag of ice in the freezer which was frozen into a mass we couldn't remove without leaking a gallon of water onto the kitchen floor. Shower caulking was the wrong color and poorly applied. Cobwebs around some of the windows.

It’s exactly as described. 2 queen beds, a shower only bathroom and a small kitchen area. The kitchen has a small sink, a microwave, coffeemaker and compact fridge (dorm room size). Outside front area is walled off and has a couple nice sitting areas and a stocked fire pit. The only things I would add are a toaster, a hot plate and a TV. The roadnoise starts getting loud around 6am and continues to just past dark. Nit a problem if you plan on being out all day.

We really loved our stay in Casita A. We’ve stayed in the Ghost Town area before and it can get pretty busy. With the town still very accessible, we preferred being away from the crowds. We spent our days at the National Park and our nights sitting at the fire pit and stargazing. There is traffic noise during the day but it is silent at night. Will return for sure.
