About this cottage rental
The Cottage was built in 1910 as a “Mother in Law” house. It is a small, yet very cozy 2 bedroom home. The shower is constructed from local Vermont slate. All the amenities of home. WiFi and cable.
The sidewalk starts at the cottage which leads to the town in just over 1 mile. Perfect for a walk or bike ride. Pico, Killington and Bromley Mountains all less than an hour drive. Plentiful fishing and boating opportunities. 3 miles to Lake St Catherine, under 10 miles to Lake Bomoseen. Slate Valley biking trails surround the area.
The Cottage is located in the East Poultney Historic District, which encompasses the historic center of the rural village of East Poultney, Vermont. The district is centered on the triangular green at the center of the village (across the street from the front yard) and was developed mainly from the late 18th through mid-19th centuries, producing a village with strong Federal and Greek Revival architecture. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1978. The Cottage is right next door to the old Poultney Schoolhouse which is now the Poultney Historical Society building. Tours of select buildings are given by appointment only through the Poultney Historical Society.
This is the perfect area to ride a bicycle. The sidewalk starts right out by the front lawn, and continues down all the way to Poultney. There are plenty of local bike trails to ride on. For more trail information please visit https://slatevalleytrails.org/bike

The location was perfect for us, close to family. The cottage is beautifully renovated and was very ready for us to move in for an extended stay. We hated leaving that shower! There's plenty to do within a short distance ... so many little businesses and beautiful places to explore! Very quiet, we slept very well in our comfortable bed! I took many morning strolls, such a pretty little area!

This is a sweet and comfortable vintage little home.
We especially appreciated the well stocked kitchen, and the washer, dryer and iron was a huge plus as well.
The location is excellent, and the neighborhood has a few intriguing looking museums.
Nate is a kind and understanding host, and was very tolerant of our surprise guests who showed up for the graduation.
Thank you Nate!
