The listing doesn’t not do justice…. This property was so peaceful and the interior of the home was absolute perfection.
My gaming of 5 had an amazing week, and the game room is such a nice touch for 3 kiddos.

This beautiful lakefront home truly exceeded our expectations! We are a family of 9 including kids and found this home perfect in terms of great comfort, quality furnishing, a well-equipped kitchen, amenities, plenty of indoor games and outdoor activities, not to mention the picturesque views of the lake from the deck and direct access to the water.
The hosts, Joel and Jen, were extremely pleasant to deal with and accommodating to our needs. They have generously provided every amenity in their home that you can think of to have one fun-filled staycation. We were able to do so many things in a short time like bike ride along the pretty lake, kayaking, paddle-boating, fishing and after all the fun outdoor stuff, we just settled down by the firepit roasting corn and marshmallows. We just enjoyed the cozy basement/den, smartly planned out with a pool table that converts into a ping-pong & air-hockey table, lots of popular board games and a music speaker too.
Poultney is one of the busier towns in the area, it’s worth visiting Downtown, Slate Valley Trails, local farm stands and nearby beaches. The Rail Trail Eatery is a lovely place for a homely breakfast.
We would not hesitate a minute to book here again and make some wonderful memories!

Our stay at the Poultney Lake House was everything we'd hoped for and more. Thoughtfully decorated, extremely tidy and not lacking for amenities, it was a perfect escape from suburban life in CT. When we weren't at the house, enjoying kayaking, family game night, a Celtics win or simply a good book on the deck, we hiked Lewis Deane Loop for a breathtaking view of Lake Saint Catherine, biked the rail trail through "downtown" Poultney and lost a few golf balls at Lake Saint Catherine Country Club. We didn't make it to Whaleback Vineyard, so we'll just have to schedule a return trip. Thanks for everything!

Our family of 6 stayed for 6 days/5 nights. We have a 5 year old and triplet 9 year olds & the property was perfect for their ages. We fished off the docks daily, enjoyed kayaking and paddleboating. Great peaceful view just sitting on the dock, the back deck, or even looking outside from the living room window.
On a rainy day - we loved the multi-purpose game table downstairs that let us play pool, ping pong, and air hockey. The house was comfortable with ceiling fans, box fans, and air conditioning. We liked that we could use the shed to store our outdoor items during the day.
Peaceful area that we’ve never been to before. Activities we all loved included horseback riding at Mountain Top Inn, the Adventure Center at Killington, seeing the foals at the Morgan Horse Farm, and swimming at both Bomoseen and Lake St Catherine State Parks.
Wonderful place to vacation!

Very well appointed, beautifully decorated and in a great location within 15 min of town. Plenty of sleeping room with 3 bedrooms on the main floor and 1 in the finished basement. Outdoor space was special. Deck has 5 comfortable Adirondack chairs with tables, picnic table, and quality gas grill. Also additional seating on the lawn overlooking the water with a fire pit. There was road noise from the other side of the pond but not so much that it was a nuisance. We used the 4 kayaks a lot. There is also a paddle boat which we didn’t get a chance to try. Owners very responsive. Overall it was a great stay and we would like to come back!

The house was clean and full of extras such as a multi function game table, shelves of assorted boxed games & cards. There was a large deck with a large BBQ. All the rooms a large family would need. Clean and functional kitchen. A responsive owner that was immediately available for any questions. The view of the lake was delightful. If you find yourself in the Poultney VT. vicinity,
this is the place to stay.

We had a wonderful stay at Broyles’s house! The house is spacious enough for large groups, and ideally located for outdoor activities in the mountains. The pool & ping pong table combo were ideal for a fun day inside as well. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
