About this house rental
Welcome to North Captiva Island! A short, ferry ride separates you from reality, for your tropical paradise vacation. As you approach the island by boat, the troubles and worries of the real world will fade away. Be on the lookout for tranquil manatees and playful dolphins that love to show off their aerial skills.
Roughly 25 minutes after leaving the mainland, you will step ashore at one of the two ferry docks on the island. A host from our new property management company will greet you at the dock and escort you, via golf cart, the very short distance to Paradise Palms. There are no paved roads, traffic lights or traffic jams on this island. A North Captiva traffic jam is three golf carts within 50 yards of each other. North Captiva is a barrier island with five miles of beautiful white sand beaches, no crowds, turtles, dolphins and manatees. The majority of the island is State Park which you can enjoy free of charge.
This custom, spacious home, built in 2015, is one of the few on the island that has a private pool located on the living level. You won't have to walk downstairs to enjoy the pool or cook on the grill. Simply walk out any of the 3 sliding glass doors from the kitchen, master suite or bedroom. The house has beautiful new furnishings and has been professionally decorated. The kitchen is fully stocked, complete with modern stainless steel appliances and a blender for your frozen drinks. The sky deck has 360 degree views of the Gulf of Mexico, Cayo Costa and Pine Island Sound.
North Captiva Island has so much to offer! Sip your coffee as you enjoy inspiring sunrises from the roof deck in one our Adirondack chairs. Walk across the road to the boat docks to search for manatees. Walk any of the five miles of beaches, looking for shells. Charter a boat with one of the many experienced Captains to experience world class fishing. Kayak, paddle-board or swim in the warm shallow waters that surround the island. Load up your golf cart and head to the pristine white sand beaches to spend the day. Walk into the park and find your own stretch of private beach with no one around. Head back to your private pool for a cocktail and grill up the catch of the day or walk the beach at sunset, then head to one of the four great restaurants on the island for dinner. Don't forget to catch the moon and stars from the sky deck before turning in.
There is plenty of room for all to gather in the open concept living area. The Master suite has a queen bed, attached bathroom, two dressers, a closet and a sliding glass door for pool deck access. Bedroom 2 has a queen bed, dresser, closet and also walks out to the pool deck. Bedroom 3 has a queen bed, dresser and closet. Bedroom 4 is a loft (with pocket door) that has a sleeper sofa and dresser.

We had the most amazing week at Paradise Palms. The house is just lovely! Spacious and super clean with everything you could possibly need! Beds were super comfortable. The location is spectacular on the runway. One Direction is open ocean and One Direction is the Bayside every morning we got up and walked around the circle to both sides, it was wonderful! Lots of starfish and we even found a live conch shell! We loved the outdoor shower as well nice to rinse off the beach before you head into the house. The pool is so convenient directly off the kitchen. We lived out there. I will definitely be returning. Thank you so much Scott and Jana for allowing us to stay in your beautiful home! Sincerely, the serendipitous sisters ❤️😂

The house is gorgeous and having a pool was everything. The island still has some damage but is beautiful. The owner was responsive to my questions prior to my arrival which was super helpful.

This home is well positioned on the Island. We enjoyed the proximity to everything. It’s clean and the kitchen is well equipped. The beds were comfortable. But, if you’re a North Captiva regular, you know golf cart can make or break your stay. Their cart is top notch! Love that it’s up high and have big tires. We appreciated not having to worry about it. The island was a bit crowded and we didn’t have great weather. But the house was perfect. Thanks for sharing it with us.

We loved Paradise Palms. The house was spacious and immaculate. The pool was so nice for our kids to gather around and relax and visit. We ran out of propane mid-grilling and a new tank was delivered within 10 minutes! It was a fantastic and memorable time for our family escaping the Minnesota winter weather! We will definitely return.

We had a great stay on North Captiva! We enjoyed the deck on the top of the house with Adirondack chairs and the Osprey nest nearby (with baby ospreys!). Great location, close to the beach and near to Mango's and when it reopens Barnacles Bar. Management company was responsive when we let them know the hose was leaking on the deck by the pool. Thanks for sharing your beach house with us!

We have been to NCI 3 times and this house was the cleanest, beautifully decorated and best equipped of all of them
Both the owners and property managers were the quickest to respond and resolve the problem

Great place overall. Very good location overall. Lots of construction going on due to the rebuilding from the hurricane last year. So be aware of that. The place was clean and exactly as described. There were some minor issues, like the dishwasher not being attached to the wall and tipping over whenever we loaded it. But it still worked and not a big deal. We had a great relaxing vacation!

This property was exactly as described. It was clean and nicely decorated. The property management company, Shalley’s, was also amazing. Whenever I had a question, they always responded quickly. Also, ordering and reordering groceries was a breeze.
It was out first trip here, but we will definitely be back. It was our best vacation in years!

We had THE best time on North Captiva Island! The damage from the hurricane is still present but it did not distract from the natural beauty of the island. The house was perfect, well stocked and very clean! The pool was an added bonus for the couple of afternoons we had for lounging. We loved exploring the island both by foot and by golf cart. Highly recommend this house and the island for an unforgettable vacation.

We could not have asked for a better trip! The home was beautiful and the island was breathtaking, even in the aftermath of Hurricane Ian. We enjoyed taking golf cart rides around the island, beach days, and pool afternoons. We even got to see dolphins a few times! Scott was so great at communicating with me in advance to our trip and Brian with Shally’s was awesome while we were on the island! Island girl ferry was the perfect way to get to and from the island and ordering our groceries through Shally’s was a breeze. Highly recommend staying here. We can’t wait to make it back!

Shally’s Management Ruined Everything
It’s unfortunate that the owners have gone with Shally’s management company. From the first second we stepped off of our ferry until the moment we left, they were extremely rude and confrontational. We will never consider staying in any house that is managed by them.

Great house! Great location!
This was our first visit to North Captive and it exceeded expectations. The house was just as pictured. Great central location close to everything. Clean, spacious, with great views from the roof deck of both sunrise and sunset. Pool was great for relaxing after the beach. Owner and property manager were great to deal with. We will definitely be back!

Beautiful updated home, highly recommended!
We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Paradise Palms. We appreciated the fully stocked kitchen,(keurig and high speed blender were a plus) Comfortable beds, all new furniture, and cozy beach decor. Biggest advantage this property has compared to other north cap homes is the pool on main level and open concept living area. Plenty of room to enjoy hanging out with family and we used pool more due to location. The construction across street was noisy at times but didn’t bother us much. Only downside was It is located in high traffic area but the place is so nice it makes up for it. We would definitely recommend and return!

Great place to stay on North Captiva Island
This property was a great place!
We had a family group of 3 couples that stayed in February. The house is in a great location and within walking distance to the beach! The heated pool was very nice for when we were not at the beach.
The house is decorated in a coastal theme. It is very spacious, neat and clean. The kitchen was well equipped with plenty of dishes, glasses, kitchen utensils and cookware.
The house comes with a golf cart and we rented a second cart from the owners.
Great way to get around and see the island!

Comfortable House
Comfortable beds, warm clean pool on same level as beds, house was clean and everything worked. Owners were great to deal with. Would stay here again. Not really necessary to have a house on the beach for this island

Very nice house
House was clean and well maintained and very comfortable. Pool was great. Short drive on the golf cart to a beautiful beach.
The only complaint we had was the sulfur smell in the well water - just not used to that. Otherwise a great stay.

A great low key location
House was great. Just as pictured. There were 4 adults and we had plenty of space. The pool was great, we enjoyed coffee on the rooftop for sunrise and bubbles for sunset. Having the golf cart as part of the rental was great. Only cons is that the island has 4 restaurants but only 2 were available to us so it would’ve been nice to have more options for dining out or grabbing a drink. Overall we enjoyed our stay.

Wonderful Home!
We recently spent a week at Paradise Palm. This beautiful house was clean, nicely decorated and looked exactly like the pictures. The location was great and the living level pool was a huge hit with everyone. We did have some issues with the golf cart (which is essential on the island). If you are planning a stay at this home, consider renting a cart of your own so you can enjoy everything the island has to offer.

Great Property and Owner, Property Manager is sub-par
We had a great time in North Captiva. The beaches are beautiful, a quiet environment, just what we were looking for! The owners have done a fabulous job making sure the home is well equipped. Tortuga Property Managment(PM) was our only negative, they failed the owners. Even before arriving I had to ask questions twice and then re-confirm that they'd received our grocery order before getting replies. They met us at the ferry on time and the check-in and check-out went smoothly. Overall, the communication from Tortuga(PM) was poor. They ONLY provide you a TEXT number to communicate with them, so you're at their mercy to reply. They don't acknowledge well or clearly explain resolution to issues, so you'er waiting on them, wondering and frustrated. For example; no Teflon frying pan (eggs in the morning), prior tenants left trash scattered outside, slow drains, dryer not heating, Golf Cart was Intermittent, and exterior rocking chair had a rotted leg (My 75 mother was rocking in the chair outside when the leg broke). It's the PM's job to keep on-top of potential issues, do pre-walk throughs and reply promptly to the guest. PM replied vaguely on my second request, that a fry pan had been ordered; which we realized meant we wouldn't have one for our stay. The Golf Cart broke down 5 times in the first 2 days and the PM company didn't respond for more then 24 hours initially, on day 5 of 7 they brought another, which solved the issue however, I had to connect with the Owner to get a suitable reply, resolution and apology before that. We'd figured out the corroded battery connection through necessity by then and learned how to get the golf cart going again. You rely heavily on the Golf Cart to transport your family and supplies to the beach and other areas. Tortuga PM doesn't have professional communication skills, Clarity is so important when you ONLY text! They should have a check-list PRIOR to check-ins to avoid issues, if being MIA. Their one employee Katie, is wonderful and kind, she's not one of the owners or text people. We figured Tortuga PM was on "Island Time" even if employed by the owner to help us as guests or we thought perhaps they lived off-island. On the final day when PM picked us up(on time)we learned from their son, our luggage transport helper guy, that he does in-fact live on the island which made me realize as the ferry departed N. Captiva, that a fry pan could've been provided for those morning eggs! That would've been nice....

This fabulous house is in a great location on the island. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay (even had a brief visit by Hurricane Elsa!) The Island is beyond charming. Great homeowners...We highly recommended the Paradise Palms.

BEAUTIFUL HOME & BEACHES
Property was amazing! The pool was wonderful! The house is clean & perfect! We loved this home!! However, Tortuga Property Management picked us up late from the dock, everyone else was gone & we were left for an hour to wait bc house was not ready. Check-in was at 4 and house wasn't ready until after 6. That was frustrating & then we asked for an additional golf cart that we never from Tortuga. The golf cart provided by home is veerrryyy ssssllloowww & quit working at one point. My husband this it needs new batteries. Functioning golf carts are a necessity on the island to get to all the beaches so that was disappointing. Tortuga is struggling, we have recieved much better service from them in the past. :(

We stayed at Paradise Palms for ten days and I want to start by saying how much I liked this house. Rooms are large, layout is fantastic, and everyone had plenty of room to spread out. The kitchen is well stocked with any dishes or appliance you may need, spices too! Decor is updated and the location is fabulous. My daughter loved the TV in her room and the second floor pool deck is perfection. This was our second time to the island and our first stay had a ground floor pool that was too buggy to enjoy all day - so having the pool on the second floor is definitely a plus. We brought our boat as well and the dock worked well for us, no electric or water so come prepared. Be sure to see the manatees in the dock area and watch the resident ospreys perched next door - or enjoying dinner on the sky deck!We did have a few issues during our stay and had to reach out to the management company for assistance. After one load of laundry, the washer threw a code which a web search described was a motor error. The dryer also threw a code that described a blocked vent, and the lint screen was clear. We informed the management company and they sent over the maintenance man in a few hours. He stated that the washer had been a problem for quite some time and that he had a part on order and it would be around a week for the part to come in. So we were unable use the washer during our stay. Then we noticed the pool was starting to turn green so we notified management that we needed a pool tech and were told they would schedule a service call. Two days later the pool was vivid green so we notified the management company again and they sent a tech that was able to add chlorine and the pool was quickly remedied in few hours and completely clear by the time we left. Overall we had a great time. Fishing was good and the beach was wonderful.

Nice place. Great pool. Very clean.
We just spent two weeks at Paradise Palm and loved it. The house is clean and well equipped. The pool was great for the kids. We had our boat and used the dock near by making it very convenient for us. Any questions or concerns we had were quickly addressed by the property managers and or owner Scott. We would recommend this property and would book again.

Location
Just didn’t like the location the house and pool were great tho. The outside yard and landscaping could use some help but the owners are new to the house so they’ll probably spruce things up yet. It’s a great island to vacation on I hope to go back someday.
