About this house rental
As of May 1, 2024, the Driftwood Beach House is subject to the new municipal and Provincial Short-Term Rental Rules that disallow rentals of under 90 days. Therefore, we can only accept reservations for 90+ days.
Book your stay at the Driftwood Beach House now for next summer before it sells out! It's just a 35-minute beautiful ferry trip from Vancouver (no waits even without reservations in summer 2022 and 2023). Skip the Okanagan where you'll encounter the inevitable yearly summer forest fires.
It's also one of the very rare oceanfront homes on the Sunshine Coast that has no highway noise - all you hear is the sound of the waves. With 4200 square feet, 6 bedrooms (7 beds), a living room, family room, a huge deck and a covered patio, there is plenty of room for everybody. The 2 natural gas firepits, a brand-new Broil-King barbecue with a searing grill and 2 infrared natural gas outdoor patio heaters mean outside enjoyment all year long! If you like to cook, our kitchen is stocked with all kinds of small appliances and cookware - blender, food processor, slow-cooker, microwave, mixer, and all the pots and pans you'll need.
The most peaceful location: a private 200-foot driveway, 100 feet of south-facing waterfront, and a Pacific Northwest rocky beach with only 8 homes. You will see sea otters, seals, water birds (lots of bald eagles) and even Orca whales from the enormous, south-facing glass-front deck or from the water's edge. Walk down our pathway to the beach and launch your kayak or paddle board from our secluded beach. At night, sit by the ocean and listen to the waves while sipping a nightcap by the firepit taking in one of the famous Sunshine Coast sunsets.
The Driftwood Beach House is conveniently located for hiking, cycling, kayaking, paddleboarding, canoeing, and swimming. It's just a 5-minute drive into town and a 45-minute drive to Dakota Ridge for winter snowshoeing and cross-country skiing. At the house, there's plenty of fun for the whole family: a pool table, foosball, ping pong, hot tub, TVs in every room, plus a big one in the family room in case a game is on! Plus, we have the Sonos music system on the main floor so you can cook and listen to music at the same time!
What's included:
We supply bathroom towels, linens, kitchen linens, cleaning supplies, paper towels, garbage bags, toilet paper, shampoo, hand soap, iron, ironing board, laundry soap & blow dryers.

Our family loved staying at this magical spot -- overlooking the ocean, fires on the beach, and all the amenities you could need. Fantastic for a large group of all ages.

We had our whole family staying .. plenty of room for all. Although the weather wasn't the greatest (so really couldn't take full enjoyment from the fabulous outdoor spaces) we were totally fine with inside games/ space and comfort.
Being right on the water, sipping a cup of coffee or a glass of wine and just enjoying the view (and seals, eagles, hawks, hummingbirds) was a vacation in itself! Highly recommend!

This was a wonderful place to gather our family, consisting of my wife and I, our 3 children, their spouses and our 5 grandchildren. The house is absolutely great, with an entertaining contemporary Pop Art decor. The kitchen is super well stocked. The game room was very popular. The electronics are up to date and in good working order. The views, the beach, the fire pit....all worked to make this location ideal. The pictures cannot do it justice.

Incredible property! Incredible view and fun decor. Lots of space for everyone to gather or disperse. We had a few issues but received prompt support to resolve the issues.
Really nice spot for s get together.

It’s a very nice house. We enjoyed it very much, but few things were not functional, such as smoke detector went off in the middle of the night . The owner is responsible, but didn’t solve every minor problem.

The pictures don't do the property justice! Everything you need to have an amazing time with friends and family!

Fabulous property in a great location. Enjoyed by all age groups. Kids loved to explore the rock pools and beachcombe amongst the driftwood and shore. Adults loved the beautiful view and the relaxing sound of the Ocean. House was superbly equipped. All the family would love to return in the future.

We were really excited about our upcoming stay, sadly didn’t find the beach access child friendly, and had issues with tv which we don’t think we would have been so disappointed with had their been some compensation (better customer service as we paid for it) and better communication. We paid a lot to stay there and after an accidental break of a fridge part, but not up to standard with what was offered in the cost of the rental. I sadly would not stay here again.

Was the perfect spot for a large family getaway.

I rented this property for my family (6 adults and 2 young children) to celebrate a milestone birthday. The pictures are very accurate, the house was clean and everything was very clearly organized/labelled. There was more than enough space for us all. The hosts are very quick to respond to any questions. By the end of the week, nobody wanted to leave and go home. We already miss sitting on the deck watching the boats, eagles and seals. Please note that the hosts make it clear that the house is not childproof. We had no issues with it, the biggest concern was the stairs but they are easy to see from multiple sitting areas. Hope to return one day!

What more could anyone ask for- sea ,sun, blue sky and a beautiful house within a stones throw from the ocean!
The house and furnishings were superb and the beds and bedrooms enormous with ample space for our party of 11 adults whether dining, playing cards or just relaxing, either indoors or outdoors on the deck or patio or in the hot tub!!

We absolutely love sechelt. And this property was one of the best. The location was perfect with its own parcel of a rocky beach. We were close to the town but far enough to have peace and quiet. The house was more than well equipped with everything we needed. Enough room for 4 families and enough things to do for all the kids. I definitely recommend staying at driftwood.

We had an amazing time as a family on the beach front property!

fabulous views and great beach access
We had a wonderful stay at this property. The rooms are large and the living area spacious. The views were stunning and we thoroughly enjoyed our time near the water even though it was late February. The whole family had a great time and we definitely recommend this place to others.

Great place to relax and unwind
Our family had a very relaxing visit in this quiet community. There was plenty of space for all to unwind and take in the beautiful views. Check-in and out as very easy and we knew who to reach out to should we have any questions about the property. Would absolutely recommend this location and hope to return at some point in the future.

Comfy house in a beautiful location!
A lovely house all around. Well-decorated and the X-mas tree was a nice touch. Kitchen was well stocked with equipment and the labels on the light switches made life a bit easier!! Proved to be more than enough room for our party (8 adults, 2 kids). Heavy snow made the last bit of road a challenge and driveway unusuable..sure that's not a problem in the summer :). Greatly appreciate the owner reaching out in advance to warn about the conditions and quickly responded when we had issues with the controller of some of baseboard heaters. Highly recommended property all-around with views that are hard to beat!

Escape to the sunshine coast
We had a great stay. Although there are a lot of rules they were easy to follow and having everything labelled made it easy to find. The rooms are beautiful. And waking up to that view was really special. We would definitely stay again.

Beautiful Ocean Front Home!
The home is very nicely updated and we loved the way each room had a bit of a theme. Lots to do with a pool table, foosball, firepit at the beach, and loads of room to hang out and watch the ocean and feel like a true getaway.

Gorgeous views and well appointed house
Large house with gorgeous views right on the ocean and access to the beach. While the rules book (do's and don't 's) in the house were pretty long, we tried to follow all. Very spacious rooms and great views from most of them. We had a big family reunion and we thoroughly enjoyed it.

amazing view
This house is beautiful and great for family gatherings. I would recommend this property. My only negative feedback is that we had to rewash quite a few of the dishes and utensils they were not very clean and there are a lot of rules listed in their home manual. Didn't like the idea of being charged if guests used extra towels and extra linens. Thanks

Gorgeous and spacious.
Our group of 11 fit like a glove. Stunning location, well-appointed, fully supplied house with lots to do and room to be together and apart. I could stare at that ocean view forever. We hope to return next year.

Our three families were all so comfortable getting away and truly able to relax. The home is so exceptionally set up for all to gather, reconnect and have fun.

Beautiful
The house is lovely and location is hard to beat!
We had a lovely time, the only improvement I would recommend is Aircon at least in the bedrooms, it was the hottest week ever in BC and Aircon would be great.
But overall it was amazing and we would be happy to come back
