About this apartment rental
Refurbished to an impeccable standard, 1 Church Cottages is a beautifully finished semi-detached Victorian cottage positioned, as the name suggests, just across from the Norman church of St Martins. Set in the centre of the ancient village of Westmeston at the foot of the South Downs, the cottage is the perfectly positioned for exploring the beautiful rural landscape of East Sussex. The south coast is only 30 minutes' drive away with beaches at Brighton, Saltdean and Seaford.
The property has been lovingly restored with great attention to detail and retains many of its Victorian period features such as the original fireplaces in both bedrooms. On the ground floor is the spacious, tastefully decorated sitting room with cosy wood burning stove for those cooler winter evenings. French doors open onto the secluded garden, which has two terraces for guests to relax and unwind in the summer sunshine. There is an open-plan dining area with a table and four chairs and a country style kitchen with electric aga and breakfast table with bench seats. Both bedrooms can be found on the first floor. The master bedroom features a king-size bed and has lovely views on to the south-east facing garden and to the church beyond.
