About this lodge
Set on 80 acres in beautiful Butler County, Timber Creek Lodge is nestled on the edge of the Kansas Flint Hills, providing a refreshing getaway, only a short drive from Wichita, Kansas.
A spacious "barndominium" styled in rustic industrial decor, every detail has our guests in mind. With amenities & furnishings curated to provide an intimate and luxurious country experience, guests immediately feel right at home, whether inside by the large woodburning fireplace, or enjoying nature on the covered patio.
The 1,856 sq ft of living space includes 2 private bedrooms and 1 bathroom. The great room with 25’ ceilings, boasts a large stone, wood burning fireplace, and 65" smart LG TV with all your favorite streaming services. Equipped with complimentary Wi-Fi and multiple Apple chargers, Timber Creek Lodge also has several indoor and outdoor games, including shuffleboard, dart board, corn hole, horse shoes, cowboy frisbee golf, arcade video game, board games, cards, poker chips, chess & checkers, a small library of DVD & VHS videos, and books.
On the main level is the master bedroom with queen bed, and full bathroom with walk-in shower. Up the stairs is an open loft with sitting/reading area, a game table, and a twin roll-away bed plus a small futon-like pad floor sleeper (ideal for kids!). Also upstairs is the private and enclosed second bedroom with a queen bed and a twin-over-full bunk bed. All together the Lodge sleeps 6-8 people.
The Lodge has a full size washer & dryer available to guests, and mud room/utility area to hang coats, bags, and store shoes and boots.
The open concept, full-size, fully stocked kitchen includes granite countertops, LG appliances including double wall ovens, and a custom-built live edge oak island as the center piece. All the essential small appliances, pots & pans, serveware, dishes and drinkware are provided.
The 16x20’ covered outdoor patio is a wonderful spot to sit and watch amazing Kansas sunrises, experience the wildlife, or relax and unwind on a perfect Kansas evening enjoying your favorite beverage. The patio is equipped with plenty of comfortable outdoor seating and a Solo Stove for evening fires.
When you come out to Timber Creek Lodge to engage in our agri-tourism experience, you have use of the Lodge and non-hunting access to 80 acres of rangeland and creek bottom. We keep paths mowed thru the pastures so guests can enjoy hiking and exploring the property, fully experiencing and immersing oneself within Kansas wildlife and nature. You're sure to spot a deer or two!
As proud patrons of local artisans, Timber Creek Lodge is furnished with several custom made pieces created specifically for the Lodge. All amenities and furnishings have been curated to give you an intimate and luxurious country experience.

Timber Creek Lodge is a peaceful place for rest and renewal, and is not a party destination or wedding party crash pad. We are a no smoking/no pet property, and request no more than 8 guests on property during your reservation.
As a Kansas registered agritourism property, we request all renters complete a supplemental rental agreement, which will be sent once your booking request is received. We kindly request this agreement be signed before booking is accepted. We thank you in advance for your cooperation.

This is our second time staying here and absolutely love it! Our son goes to college in El Dorado and this is a perfect place to stay while we are here visiting him and going to his baseball games.

Our daughter was getting married at the venue right down the road and this Vrbo was a suggested place to stay. We checked it out and booked it. Best decision ever! It was so clean and had so many things to do there. My adult kids and my friend's children had so much fun with all the games and such they never complained they were bored. Bonus being close to the venue for the wedding. Definitely stay here!

We were in Butler County to visit our son during parents weekend and came across this listing. The property is exactly as advertised - it is amazing. It is in immaculate shape, comfortable and very well appointed. The physical setting is absolutely beautiful. Amy is a great host and is very responsive. I highly recommend the place and can't wait to stay there again!

We were looking for a relaxing place for to hang with friends for the weekend. This was perfect spot with comfortable places to sit & sleep, games and a firepit. Everything was high quality and super clean. We will definately be back.

We had the best time. We sat on the porch everyday until 2:00 p.m. just enjoying each other. The home was perfect for us. The time spent with my sons and father was priceless. I wish I would have booked one more day.

The Groom stayed the night before with his groomsman. The enjoyed the fireplace and games and just some down time before the big day.
Then the Newlyweds stayed and enjoyed the remote location. The house is gorgeous and the views are spectacular.

Timber Creek Lodge was amazing! Amy was great to work with. Shuffle board was fun. The house was beautiful. Very clean and beds were comfy. Even the single roll out bed was comfy. The house has everything you’d need! I’d love to stay here again. Very cozy place!

This was a beautiful property that gave us the room we needed, as I traveled from Minnesota to meet my biological paternal family members in Butler County, Kansas. We had up to 20 visitors for dinner each evening, and we had a lot of room to spread out in, yet staying close enough to talk. It had everything we needed to prepare dinner. After everyone left for the evening it still was an intimate space for my husband and I. The grounds were very nice, and it had a lovely porch to look out to a field and a pond. Thank you Butlers for having this beautiful property!

It was a great experience for all. We had a family gathering & it was relaxing very comfortable Lodge with everything u need for a great weekend! Timber Creek lodge was perfect, I was catering the desserts at the wedding and the beautiful kitchen and double ovens were exactly what I needed. I totally geeked out over the kitchen, it's beautiful, all top of the line and that huge, live edge island is everything!!! The hosts are great and easily accessible, but we didn't need to as tthey have thought of everything. The teens loved the darts and shuffleboard, and of course the wifi too. Plenty of games and activities for everyone. We wished we would have had more time to sit outside with the fire pit also, maybe next time. We also saw deer both mornings. If your on the fence, just book it, you won't regret it. We can't wait to come back!

Great Escape to the Country
Our family group loved our 2 night stay at Timber Creek Lodge. We wanted to get away from city lights to see the Perseids meteor shower and it was better than imagined. The rest of the time we never ran out of things to do. Amy is an amazing host and has gone over and above any VRBO host with her attention to detail. In addition to everything listed there are wonderful books - guides on stargazing, birds, trees, planning a country home (including Amy’s and Lee’s personal account with photos), - fascinating maps on the walls, and so much more. Lovely place. “Luxury rustic”. A true escape. No other people in sight. We will return!

Our host was super easy to work with and great with answering questions. This was an awesome experience. The barndominum was perfect for our family holiday. It is decorated and appointed beautifully. The location was perfect too, very easy to get to but remote enough to have a truly country feel. Thank you to the Butlers!

Relaxing Stay on the Prairie

If you're reading this review you've at least shown interest in the listing. Let me tell you, Timber Creek is one of the best VRBOs we've ever stayed! First off, the property is beautiful. Picturesque section of the Flint Hills that transports anyone to peaceful country living. The front porch is clean, big and spacious with enough outdoor seating for 8 adults easily. Lucky for us, rain had provided enough dampness we could enjoy a fire in the provided fire pit! The real joy however, is inside. The interior is masterfully decorated with plenty of space for all eight of us adults to hangout, enjoy company and play indoor games. The kitchen is fully stocked with all household appliances. The bar is fully stocked with a myriad of glassware for any type of beverage. The dining table is huge enough to spread out and converse over as is the custom-made bar. Many games were played on the shuffleboard table and the owners even provide two Sony bluetooth speakers for your enjoyment.
The bathroom had all the touches of a four-star hotel with drinking glasses, q-tips, ample washcloths, hand towels, soap and shampoo. The bedrooms both had extremely comfortable beds which made for some of the best sleep I'd had all vacation. My only regret was not being able to stay another night.
There were four married couples during our stay and Timber Creek Lodge was perfect property for our semi-annual get together of lifelong college friends. I truly hope to return to enjoy the space again.

The steampunk aesthetic is charming--it's a thoughtful design that combines a modern interior with a bit of western throwback. Lots to do here for the whole family: our kids had a great time running around, fishing (catch-and-release), and playing the outdoor games provided by the hosts, and they loved what they named "the kiddie loft" upstairs. Easy getting in/out--just a real easy process overall. Would definitely recommend!
