I would absolutely recommend staying here. The house is beautiful, spacious and so welcoming and warm. The location is great, private but close to town and the surrounding area. The fire pit beach area was so fun to hangout and make smores. We brought our dogs and they loved it! They had a blast in the brook and the fenced in yard area was perfect for them to run and play.
Thank you for such a nice relaxing weekend, we will be back!

Alex and Rebecca’s VT retreat is a true gem! As a group of 12, with 3 different families including kids of all different ages, the layout of the house was ideal. Each family had their own bedroom and bathroom, with rooms to spare! There was endless entertainment for the children and plenty of cozy spots to spread out and relax in. It never felt crowded. The massage chair was a big hit for the whole family, especially after some great days at the mountain. Stratton is a quick 7 minute drive from the house, which made going back and forth throughout the day easy. The backyard and property itself is beautiful, with a babbling brook and tons of land to explore and fields of snow to play in! The kids especially enjoyed finding ladybugs in the window sills and setting them free outside. A highlight for them :) We definitely hope to make this house a yearly winter tradition for our family! Thank you for keeping such a clean, beautiful and cozy home.

Our stay was fantastic! The house and property are beautiful and the location is secluded and peaceful, which is exactly what we wanted. There are so many things to do around it, so it’s the perfect home base. The property owners/managers were great communicators and recommended some really good places to visit. Weston was one of them and it did not disappoint. Highly recommend staying here!

We love this location to kick-back and relax. The fenced in yard is nice for our dog Roxie. We enjoyed cooking smores over the firepit, hiking some of the local trails and spending quiet time with family and friends. Having separate bedrooms/bathrooms for each member of our group is a plus. Alex was very responsive and flexible.

This is an excellent choice for extended families who want together time as well as privacy and outdoor space for kids and space where adults can gather and play cards in the evening without waking up kids sleeping upstairs. House—a former boarding house—is generous in size and well furnished, and property is distinctive in that it's got a good sized fenced in yard great for young children and about half an acre of the property around the house is mowed, which makes for good play areas for grown-ups as well as kids. There's a river behind the house, and a great natural pool to splash in about 50 yards up river. Importantly, Alex and Rebecca were attentive hosts. We got to the property just a few days after the terrible mid-July floods that tore up the local roads, and on our first day in the house received a flyer from the Town of Jamaica warning us about another storm on the horizon and saying further damage to the roads could leave us isolated for a while. I called Alex, and he arranged for us to move out that night to a house in the nearby Stratton ski resort, and we stayed there two nights and then were able to return to the first house without worry. Excellent handyman associated with the house, so when something went wrong—a dishwasher that wouldn't drain all the way—Eddie was over in a couple of hours and fixed the problem. And if you're in the habit of getting up early, and are capable of walking quietly, you'll find deer by the river until they see you.

This is a lovely old house near a river on a quiet country road. Our family and friends enjoyed quiet time, lots of games/movies, cooking out, sitting by the firepit and walking along the river. Everyone loved having their own bedroom/bathroom and our dog enjoyed splashing in the swimming hole and playing in the backyard. Hosts were very responsive and flexible. We hope to come back next year!

We found this to be a charming old house located along a gentle river. It was a perfect getaway for our family and dog. We had fun exploring neighboring towns, Stratton Ski resort, hiking to waterfalls and just hanging out by the river to swim and build sandcastles.
Thank you for opening your home to us!

Family get away
My family enjoyed having the space for everyone to have their own bedroom/bathroom. The property was dog friendly and our dog loved swimming in the creek and having a fenced area to lounge around in the sun. We loved all the indoor and outdoor spaces and made great memories at the property.

Wonderful!
We had a wonderful family reunion at this quintessentially New England sprawling Vermont farmhouse. This home is set up perfectly for large groups, and it easily accommodated our multigenerational family reunion. It felt like we had an entire Bed and Breakfast to ourselves. We can't wait to go back!

Family Reunion/Ski Trip
We booked this property the week between Christmas and New Year's Day for a family reunion. It is a really charming property. The house has plenty of space for multiple families to spread out and have their own space or to gather, depending on preference. All upstairs rooms have ensuite bathroom, which is a big plus. Even in winter we enjoyed the surrounding property for hikes, etc. We were able to bring two dogs - the fenced in back yard was a huge plus. Another big win is the proximity to Stratton for skiing. Getting to and from is a breeze - about 10 minutes up the road. The property manager, Alex, was very responsive and helpful. But honestly we had no issues while there, as everything went very smoothly! We'd definitely book again!

Perfect Vermont Getaway
What a beautiful home nestled in the southern Vermont mountains! Great for outdoor activities right on the property with the beautiful river and nearby hiking and skiing. House was great for a large group with lots of living areas. Kids (big and little) loved the air hockey and there’s room to spread out for games, reading, etc. Bedrooms are all well appointed and furnishings are beautiful. Having the separate bathrooms for the bedrooms was great! We had a beautiful Thanksgiving weekend and even got a little snow! Thanks Alex and Rebecca, you have a very spot!

Had a great weekend with family
This property is excellent. Easy to find and easy to access. Wonderful old new england house. Very comfortable. My favorite part is the sound of the brook that runs through the back yard. I would never get tired of waking up to that sound. We had a great time. I hope I get an opportunity to stay here again.

Wonderful property best VRBO ever.
Went to Jamaica VT for a 50th wedding anniversary party. Our entire side of the family stayed in this charming historic home. The kitchen. Had everything we needed including a center island with seating. Each upstairs rooms had quality bedding and a full bath in each room. Omg was that great.
The property grounds were so much fun with rock hopping along the Stoney river to a wonderful fireplace gathering site and relaxing in the steamy hot tub.

Property is gorgeous
We had a group with kids ranging from 5-11 and adults. We all had a blast… the property is second to none. The kids spent so much time in the river behind the house, walking on rocks, baseball and nerf guns in the yard and fires and s’mores at night! Alex was super responsive when we had some weather issues and needed to check in early.

Perfect getaway for big group
We travelled here for a getaway with extended family and it was a perfect getaway. It rained our first day and we were able to stay busy with the various activities in the house. The property was remote enough to feel disconnected but you could get what you needed a short drive away. It was great to have bathrooms attached to all the rooms so each group had there own space (we had younger kids and older kids on different schedules) and we could also all convene in the kitchen, family room or outside. We would definitely recommend this property!

Dog friendly getaway
My best friend and I took our kids ages 6, 12, 14 & 14) and our 2 German Shorthaired Pointers for a getaway in the mountains of Vermont. The hosts have a gorgeous farmhouse on a beautiful riverside property. The antique farmhouse had every modern amenity you could ask for. We had plenty of cookware, an outdoor hot tub, a propane grill. There was a massage chair that I thoroughly enjoyed, lots of different sitting rooms, board games & A huge dvd collection. The kids loved the foosball table and the air hockey table. The dogs loved the river with the beach and swimming area. The hosts reached out a couple of times to make sure we had everything we needed. We had fun exploring local farms, villages, and scenic mountains. I would definitely visit again!

Absolutely wonderful getaway!
If you're looking to get away from it all for a bit, but retain the amenities that make a vacation comfortable and relaxing, this is the place! The house was very well equipped for a large group and is much more spacious than the pictures can show. The property is absolutely beautiful and calm and you really feel like you're part of the mountain while staying here. Finally, I can't say enough about how responsive and courteous Alex and his team were - we had everything we needed (including a couple of requests that weren't included in the listing) and Alex responded within seconds to our questions. We'd happily come back for another week!

Great spot
The Pikes Falls home is wonderful! Great quiet location not far from Jamaica center, Stratton and Manchester not to mention a hidden gem 2 miles up the road called Pikes Falls. It’s dog friendly with a nice fenced in backyard area plus some great swim holes right on property that the kids and pup enjoyed. The home itself was comfy as well as fun with the air hockey table getting lots of use. Both the caretaker and owners were quickly responsive to any questions. We had a lovely stay.

Absolutely Fantastic!
This is the type of property you almost don't want to review so as to keep it a secret! :) We were a group of three friends with our sons (between the ages 6 to 13) looking for a Memorial Day getaway - this house was truly wonderful. Sadly, it was cold and rainy the whole weekend but the house was so perfect for that. Lots of bedrooms each with their own bathroom gave us lots of privacy, and three separate living areas gave us lots of space to stretch out. The kids loved the bunk room, and a huge collection of DVDs, games, an air hockey table and a massage chair absolutely saved this rainy weekend. When the downpours slowed we got to use the incredible property - gorgeous private grounds right on a river with a fantastic swimming hole (sadly only used by the dog!). It's located a few miles from the town of Jamaica, so easy to pop down to the store for anything, an easy distance to Stratton and lots of hiking. The fenced in part of the yard is perfect for young children and dogs, while the whole grounds are great for older kids to explore. We took advantage from the break in the rain to head to the falls a mile or so up the road. There are two places for fires outside. While there are plenty of attractions in the area, there's enough on the property that you could easily spend a relaxing week without leaving!
The house was clean with super comfortable beds, great water pressure, all the plates and kitchen things you need. We can't wait to come back on a warmer weekend and use the swimming hole. The owners were super easy to get in touch with - and when we had an issue turning the heat on at arrival they had an electrician there within the hour and we were warm and toasty. They also sweetly offered us a late check-out, which was greatly welcomed as the sun finally came out on our last morning! The wireless - as they mention - is not perfect (don't plan coming up for Zoom meetings) but it's perfectly adequate for a vacation.
Overall, this was an excellent find. Book this. You will not be disappointed.
