About this house rental
CEDAR COTTAGE is a new custom home on 2 acres, with views out over Ducktrap Harbor to Mount Megunticook and the open ocean. It is located a couple minutes north of the picturesque town of Lincolnville, and 15 minutes from Camden and Belfast. The long porch in front of the house provides beautiful views, whether it's admiring the islands in the distance, watching the ferry go between Lincolnville and Isleboro Island, having a nightcap while the sun sets behind the Camden Hills, or gazing up at a million stars at night.
The house was finished in 2021 and includes slate floors from a local quarry and rustic wide plank pine flooring milled from Maine white pine. The home has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. Two bedrooms have king size beds, with one of the bedrooms having an en-suite bathroom. The other two bedrooms have full size beds. The house comfortably sleeps 8 people.
The kitchen area is open to the living room, and has a large granite island with seating for 4, as well as a dining table that seats 8 people. There is a large porch off the living room with ocean views. In the basement there is a cozy family room area, with a 60 inch 4k TV. The house has fiber internet (and wifi). There is also a full-sized washer and dryer.
Cedar Cottage is the perfect spot to access all that mid-coast Maine has to offer and is a beautiful home to spend any season of the year. Of course Maine's fame as "Vacation Land" is best linked with the summer, but whether it's the bright greens of spring, the explosion of fall colors, or the beauty of the ocean in winter, Cedar Cottage let's you enjoy all Maine has to offer.
The surrounding area has so many activities:
* Camden ... the quintessential Maine town, with the Windjammer Festival, Camden Hills State Park, and the National Toboggan Championships - 15 min. South
* Rockland ... the Lobster Festival (77 years in 2024), the Farnsworth Museum, and ferries to Maine's famous outer islands - Monhegan, Matinicus, and Vinalhaven - 30 min. South
* Boothbay Harbor ... the Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens, Windjammer Days, and boating trips to see whales and puffins - 60 min South
* Belfast - Maine Celtic Festival, Marshall Wharf Brewery, Arts in the Park, and Belfast Harbor Fest - 15 min North
* Bar Harbor Area... Acadia National Park, the Lupine Festival, Bass Harbor Head Lighthouse 90 min North

Ocean View” is a beautiful, cozy home that made time “fly by” during Tropical Storm Lee. The weather cleared and we enjoyed the numerous outdoor activities in the area. Great communication from our hosts. Would love to return to this wonderful home at a future date.

Our family had a wonderful stay in Sheehan’s lovely new home. It was just blissful sitting up high on the deck, looking at the bay and watching the ferries go by. The house is brand new, well furnished, and well stocked. And the location is great, just minutes to Lincolnville Beach, Camden Hills State Park, Camden, and Belfast. A fantastic vacation!

The property was perfect for our group of friends to get together. The location is in a beautiful spot between the mountains and the ocean, with nice views of the harbor. Everything was as advertised, very clean and comfortable. It was a great jumping off point to get to all points in Midcoast Maine. Sheehan was a great host. Very accessible when necessary. He was kind enough to check in on our comfort during a very cold snap and his new home held up very well.
We would go back in a heartbeat.

This was our first time in mid- coast Maine and we were looking for a centralized starting place for exploration and this was perfect. We loved our last minute stay here and Sheehan was great to work with— very responsive and accommodating! The house is clean and new and beautiful and looks as shown in the pics. It was very comfortable and had everything we needed to cook dinner and relax! Wi-Fi was good too! Great breakfast at Dots and fancy coffee at Green Tree just 5 mins away, and we got to know the folks at the Whales Tooth Pub— amazing mussels (ask for extra bread to slop up the sauce!). The house is about 15 mins from Camden with no traffic but if you’re in season we imagine it would be longer. Saturday at noon the one road into town was pretty backed up! Camden has lots of great shops and restaurant options— the lobster tasting menu at Natalie’s was amazing! We had our boat at the public marina in Camden and mostly explored other towns on her— great to cruise around and tie up in another harbor and explore for a bit! We’ll definitely be back next summer!

A comfortable home with a lovely view.
We came looking for a comfortable home base while we spent time with family in Northport and Belfast. The home was clean and comfortable and well equipped. We have not previously stayed this far south and I was surprised at how much I enjoyed the proximity to Camden and Lincolnville in addition to our usual haunts. Sheehan could not have been nicer as I hemmed and hawed through figuring out our actually dates. The lovely view out to the water was a bonus and the large capacity washing machine helped make my life a little easier.

A lovely spot to stay in Northport
We truly enjoyed a beautiful fall weekend at this home in Northport. The home being new; was very clean, and organized with all the amenities that we needed. The location provided easy access to the beach and ferry in Lincolnville, nearby woodland hikes and a quick visit to Belfast. We would definitely love to return. The host was communicative and extremely helpful- thank you!

Pretty Perfect
I am a bit of a clean freak and picked this property because it looked new and clean. It did not disappoint. communication with manager is excellent and I would highly recommend this! I will mention the stairs were a challenge for my Mother as she has a bit of a limitation physically. The kitchen and living are on the top floor to maximize the view of the ocean so a lot of stair climbing but totally worth it! Every detail was beautifully finished out. It was very private, quiet, and relaxing. Loved the location so close to Lincolnville and Camden. Also a good drive time to Acadia, Bar Harbor, Booths Bay, and more.
Thanks for a great stay!

Recent stay
This spacious, beautiful home exceeded our expectations. We gathered with friends we had not seen in two years because of Covid. All amenities were well thought out and available. Our hosts were gracious and available for any questions. Our location allowed us to visit many different sites in the areas. We enjoyed Young's Lobster Shack, Natalie's, Franny's Bistro and In Good Company for dinners within easy driving distance. We are grateful for a chance to catch up with friends and enjoy the Maine coast.

Great new cottage!
Super nice, brand new property. Lots of room for a family, and very well furnished. Close to Ducktrap cove, Camden Hills and other recreational activities. Bonus is an A/C system for the top floor (in mid-July, a definite plus!).

Private, peaceful NEW cottage with lots of amenities!
Our stay in Northport was quiet and peaceful. We saw wildlife (deer and turkeys) daily. There was an ocean-view with decent sized balcony. Main living area is spacious with comfortable furniture. Bedrooms and bathrooms were comfortable and clean with new decor/fixtures. We enjoyed campfires in the firepit, outside grill, lots of kitchen amenities (blender, coffee maker, toaster). We were able to save money by eating some meals in but the location is 5 minutes from the villages of Lincolnville and Northport which have several places to eat. Camden and Belfast are each about 15 minutes away. The only drawback is that you have to drive everywhere -- but the trade-off is peace and quiet! I would definitely consider staying here again.

Cozy Hideaway with Great View!
What a great week we had at Cedar Cottage! From the time we arrived we were taken by both the beautiful natural surroundings as well as the stunning house! Cedar Cottage has a wonderful layout, as the main living area is on the second floor. The windows and deck allow for views of the ocean. The bedrooms are on the main floor and the lower level. As the cottage is brand new, the appliances, fixtures and all the furnishings are comfortable and stylish.
Outside we saw several deer, and even a porcupine meandering up the dirt road!
We were a multi generational family with grandparents, and aunt, parents and 2 children and we had plenty of room and privacy.
The location of Cedar Cottage is central to many costal towns. We enjoyed traveling to them and made our way up to Acadia to enjoy the National Park. While Northport is a quiet little town full of stunning nature, the surrounding areas are bustling villages waiting to be explored!
Sheehan our host was very good with communication and was very responsive with questions that we had. We loved our stay and hope to return in the future!
