We have stayed twice at 260 South bay and will continue to as long as we can. The owners can't be any nicer and the interior is always immaculate. We always leave some extra water or canned food for the next guest and leave it in the same condition as when we found it..
Trish is wonderful and always positive. I hope this VBRO stays around for a very long time.
We are booked for November with the third unknown, faceless owner and I'm packing as I'm typing.

The owner has done all they can do to make this a good experience. It appears to be newly remodeled and it is quite nice. Location is perfect although the amount of construction due to the hurricane is noisy and ruins the sight from the deck with construction equipment blocking the beautiful setting. This cannot be controlled by the owner and it is quite sad for all the people in Naples that live by the water. This will pass in time and the location will be perfect. The other thing the owner cannot control is the size of the property. They make the best of the space that is there but for instance, they cannot have towel bars in the bathroom. We have never dealt with that before and turns out to be difficult to know what to do with wet towels. Otherwise, everything is in the property that is needed and is well stocked. They also have chairs and an umbrella that you can walk down to the beach with. The umbrella made it comfortable to be on the beach for hours and was appreciated a great deal. We are seriously contemplating going back next year, which is the highest compliment.

Under other circumstances, this property would rate well - pleasant decor, very clean, well-equipped and a short walk to beautiful Vanderbilt Beach. Sadly, our experience was very disappointing. From 7AM - 5PM each weekday, a large excavator and bulldozer trenched and buried 4’ culverts along the bayside road just 25 yards from the unit. A massive generator a few yards further away droned night and day. The noise and dust rendered the deck virtually unusable. Inside the unit, we suffered the constant din of construction. According to road-crew, the work had been on-going for a number of weeks. I messaged the host (with video) suggesting the roadwork should have been mentioned on the VRBO site. The response was “we were unaware of any construction starting at this time”. This may be true, but to me does not relieve a host, local or not, from the responsibility of knowing and listing conditions in/around their property that may affect their guests. Soon after, I visited the VRBO site again and found the host had added a disclaimer to inform potential renters of construction in the area and that “all rates have taken this into account”, suggestive of a rate adjustment (logically a lower rate) during construction. Since we were experiencing the inconvenience of said construction, I asked if our rate would be adjusted accordingly. The host responded “this is not an emergency pertaining to the home ..this is you wanting a discount”. I found the reply insulting. Considering the intrusive road construction, an uninformed host seemingly insensitive to issues impacting our visit, and an insulting response to an honest question, we rate our experience as a 1.
