Location
This apartment is sold as for four, with a double bedroom and a sofabed in the lounge, but the three-seater sofabed is so big it blocks the access from the bedroom to the bathroom, unless a person squeezes past, against the wall, banging into the TV, and then they still cannot avoid touching the sleepers, waking them up. The apartment is a very narrow conversion (from an old corridor?) but no one at Sonder can have checked how this large sofabed actually works. We had a miserable night. A different sofabed would have made all the difference.

Location was great.
Price good for location.
Comfy bed.
Liked the security.
Great cleaning staff.
A little worn looking. esp walking down halls with old, stained carpets. Gave it a little sketchy first impression.
Happy with my little studio though!

Perfect location in the heart of old town Alexandria. But that has a downside. It’s easy to get to everything and the King Street free trolley service makes getting around even easier
Our room (300) faced on to King Street and the road noise was very bad. If you want to sleep beyond 7am you may have a problem as that’s when the buses and garbage collections start . The windows are timber sash single glazed in keeping with a historic property but they offer no sound insulation and the window in the bathroom doesn’t close at all. There is virtually no hanging space for clothes in the room and none for long items like women’s dresses or coats . The evenings can also be noisy, especially at weekends with the drinkers going home late and the posers cruising up and down King Street in their V8, V10 and V12 engined cars.

Bedroom exceptionally noisy because of garbage truck from 6.30 to 8 each morning. Room temperature controls did not work: temp was 65f and could not be changed. Main door code lock was almost unusable: unilluminated grey on black touch buttons that mostly didn't respond. Every entry required multiple attempts. And finally, Booking.com sent me several emails claiming the booking was "fraudulent". Contacted Sonder and they said this was a common problem. I have strongly suggested that they stop using you, not least because I have of heard many similar problems with your system.

Great location in downtown old town Alexandria; easy walking and public transport, and plenty of diverse food options and local attractions close by. The apartment (room 205) was comfortable, clean, safe and fine - though facilities were available we did not do any cooking; but enjoyed the good coffee and tea. We enjoyed being able to open the windows (somewhat) and the very comfortable bed.

Location
Strong smell of garbage in the worn out-looking hallway. Hotel was more like a Day’s Inn than like the boutique hotel I was expecting based upon the website and the nightly rates they charged. Don’t plan to return here.

Perfect location right in the centre of everything

Location was great. Managers very organized.
The windows would not open more than 2”. There was no security reason for this. Charging $20 to extend check-out by one hour is excessive. We would have used secure luggage storage after check out if that had been an option. That is needed for the DC area

Loved the location - access to waterfront and train.

The location is perfect - right on King Street, halfway between the metro and river. Spacious rooms with nice kitchens, stylish furniture. Heated floors in the bathrooms.
The overall quality of construction is poor. Towel bars/hooks and lights are hanging off the wall. Windows and doors don’t close properly. Not particularly clean

The self check-in process is smooth.
The major issue about the room is that there is no chair! It is very inconvenient to work there.

location
dirty carpets, no room cleaning even though requested directly with staff, run-down feel to everything

Location and kitchen
No table to sit at to have breakfast or a meal. Had to eat breakfast sitting on the bed, Kitchen needs a small bistro table for 2. Only 3 hangers upon arrival. Waited a full day before i could hang up my clothes. Only Nettflix and had to call for help to get online. Sis not get Netflix for 24 hours. No option for TV and news. Key code pad to enter lobby gets sticky and takes multiple tries.

Very nice, clean comfortable room. Easy check in
I needed to drop my bag off prior to check in. I was told there was a closet I could store my bag but was unable to find it.

Close to a couple good restaurants. The roof did not leak.
No offloading area anywhere—had to schlep luggage for three blocks; closest parking garage was 3 blocks away; across the street (we were in the back) was a Ross store where a night staff loudly worked all night; right under flight path of jets from National; single pane windows did not shut out sounds; proof? Sonder provided earplugs; emotionally challenged homeless folks were an unfortunate presence on King Street; need to add an app to your phone to use the TV.

the location was perfect.
We were able to walk to a lot of places
There were few places to hang clothing.
No toilet seat cover
The wall between the bathroom and bedroom was not very private

Room is on the small side and has no place to sit down for a meal . No place for luggages.
Check in box “ 2” doesn’t work most of the time .

I loves the location, very convenient.
I can’t find anything that I didn’t like.

There was a lot of street noise. Although we were provided with earplugs (that’s how noisy it gets), it wasn’t enough to drown out the sirens or car alarms that went off every morning at 6 am. This was absolutely dreadful.

Thermostat was hard to adjust. Coffee could be better.

Great location - right in the middle of King St. Walking distance to everything. Outstanding value. Modern, spacious rooms in a historic building.
How is a great room in a great location so cheap? If you haven't stayed at a Sonder before, it's more like Airbnb than a hotel. No staff, parking lot, breakfast, fitness room, etc. Download the Sonder app before you check in, you'll need it to check in and out. To watch TV, bring a device that can cast to their Chromecast TV (their WiFi is free)

The room was beautiful. The dishes & stove were a nice extra touch. It was clean. The bed was so comfortable.
The hallway smelled like sour carpet. No tub just a shower

Great room (we upgraded to room with sofa as did not want to just sit/lie on bed). Fabulous location. Great facilities. Very cosy. One of us was ill for couple of days so great to have somewhere nice to hang out and chill.
Had an issue with door codes as internal worked but external didn't. Rang the number and it was resolved very quickly. I would not have liked to arrive really late at night to have to deal with that but automated systems can be glitchy.
Managed to get the TV working on Chromecast so watched Netflix. Not a big deal but sometimes nice to just put the news on without having to wrestle with tech.

Five star concept. Two star execution. I loved the central location and the contact free check in/check out system. Customer service was responsive and easily accessible when I had trouble getting in the front door. And the entry lobby smelled fantastic!
The room was sub-par. I left a punch list of items that need attention for the facilities staff. There was no table or desk and chair to use as a work or eating space even though there was a full size kitchen, stove and fridge. The ironing board (which I tried to use as a substitute table) was soiled and broken. The bedside lamp did not work - needed a new light bulb. The frosted glass feature door/wall was soiled and needed a deep clean. The bathroom sink did not drain properly and the toilet only flushed properly once every three flushes. I personally dusted off the headboard, which had a visible layer of dust on top.

Efficient, pleasant design of the room - including kitchen and bathroom. Comfortable bed. Close to cafes, restaurants, major attractions.
The shower is lacking pressure, questions/requests asked through the app remained unanswered, and the downstairs keyboard of the lock is finicky and worn, resulting in the need to punch in the code a few times every time to get in.

Access code to get into building did not work or in room. tv did not work

Nice location in old town. Easy walks to shops, restaurants and the waterfront.
Glass bathroom wall separating the bed from the toilet. Zero privacy.
Bed hard as a rock.

The location is terrific in the heart of Old Town Alexandria. King Street links to all sorts of transport options, so I was able to take the Metro to DC, the bus to my meetings in National Harbor, and the Amtrak train to Richmond. The apartment has a well-appointed kitchen and beautiful French doors overlooking an internal courtyard - very comfortable and efficient and lovely in its simplicity. There are grocery stores and many, many restaurants and take-out sources nearby.
The suite is up a short flight of stairs at the end of a long hall - it could be a barrier for some. There was a periodic, repetitive mechanical noise outside the suite, but this quickly became routine background and did not interfere with sleep.
