About this cabin rental

Enjoy a couples mountain getaway in our charming mountain Cabin. Located in a wooded and peaceful setting near Lake Watauga TN. An easy drive to many of the areas attractions. Woodland Retreat is loaded with amenities that will enable you to relax and enjoy your time away from it all. Enjoy cool lake breezes and the beautiful wooded surroundings off of 2 large covered decks on both floors.
Look out the window at surrounding woods or many of the areas located just steps outside of the cabin are Forestry lands which allow you to view all kinds of wild life.
Our Cabin has 850 cozy square feet with charming décor, knotty pine interior and 2 levels.
Relax with a warm cup of coffee or glass of wine on either deck and enjoy the peaceful sounds of nature while overlooking the cove on Watauga Lake.
Inside on the upper level, you have a fully stocked kitchen for all of your cooking needs to enjoy all your meals in the cabin. Also upstairs is a roomy living area where you can grab a blanket snuggle up, enjoy the electric fireplace read a book or watch a movie on the 50inch Smart TV. Bathroom is on the upper level.
Downstairs leads to an open bedroom with a queen sized bed and 32inch Smart TV. Bedroom has outside entrance to take you to the lower deck.

Dogs are allowed by pre-approval only and with a nonrefundable $35 pet fee per dog (Max of 2 Dogs) Pet fee must be paid prior to check in or pet(s) will not be allowed.

We had a great time and the property, Wifi, and everything was very nice. You will be out "in the woods" a bit - watch out for deer. The bedroom is downstairs and the bathroom is on the 1st floor. Very comfortable cabin with good A/C and small, but functional, kitchen (as expected). My wife and I loved it ...

A little remote, and pretty Spartan. I could have used a small dresser in the bedroom, I hate living out of an open suitcase for days. No bathroom downstairs where the bedroom is. On the plus side, it was spotless clean, the outside deck was wonderful.

Great cabin for 2 tucked away in the hills of Tennessee. Wife fell in love with the place immediately. Clean and comfortable exactly as listed. We came down to do Thunder Valley and hope to rent this property for next year!

This cute cabin was perfect for the two of us! We cooked breakfast, watched TV, played Nintendo and slept well. If we had been around more and it was warmer we would have loved sitting on the decks. The couch and bed were comfortable and everything worked well. We would love to stay again!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this rustic cabin. It was spotless, comfortable, and well stocked with everything we could possibly need. Check-in was super easy, and Carrie was good at responding to our questions quickly. The location is remote, but there is a Dollar General about 10 minutes away. Gas and larger grocery stores are about 20 minutes away, in Hampton. We would love to visit again and highly recommend Woodland Retreat for anyone wanting to get away and unwind.

Woodland Retreat is an extremely comfortable cabin on beautiful Watauga Lake. The cabin is a little remote but the area is wonderful with picturesque mountain and lake views all around. This cabin is super clean with great amenities and everything you need provided. The host Carrie was very responsive and helpful. Woodland Retreat was cozy, well appointed, and the two covered decks were very relaxing. My wife and I enjoyed our stay and will come back again in the future. We highly recommend Woodland Retreat for a wonderful couple's getaway.

My wife and 2 dogs really enjoyed our stay. Firstly, the cabin was immaculate! We have never seen a cabin so clean and inviting. We appreciated the little extras like hot chocolate with chocolate spoons, cookies, popcorn, oatmeal. We admittedly but not regrettably spent hours playing the plug and play Super Nintendo that was provided sending us back to our childhood. The neighborhood was abundant with deer which we enjoyed observing on a daily basis. The location is very isolated but not too far from the nearby towns of Boone, Beech Mountain, and Blowing Rock on the North Carolina side. We had a wonderful time and would love to go back!

Perfect for a couple stay. We loved the property. Quite, peaceful and nice surroundings. Cabin was very nicely decorated for Christmas which was nice being away from home. Kitchen nicely equipped for simple meals.

Wonderful stay at this cabin retreat. Perfect for 2 people. Immaculately clean with all the necessities and extras! Prompt and friendly communication with the owner. Everything just as described. Wonderful porches, I wish we had time to enjoy them more. Quiet, peaceful location. This was a perfect place for our weeknd, thank you!!!

What a bargain! Beautiful location with absolute quiet and privacy. A little farther out than I realized, and the one way route was a little bothersome late at night. We wish we had not scheduled so many activities and could have just stayed there and enjoyed the place even more. Absolutely recommended!

My fiancé and I stayed at the cabin during the week of our birthdays, and had the most lovely time! It was cozy, secluded, and romantic - everything we were looking for. The host, Carrie, was very easy to reach and responsive. We would absolutely stay here again!

This place was everything we were looking for. Location is close to a boat ramp for kayaking and very peaceful. The place was super clean and well stocked. I had to communicate with the owner once and immediately got a response. Owner is extremely nice, thoughtful and helpful in every way. I hope we can stay here again in the future.

The cabin is nicely sized to accommodate a couple for a long weekend. Furnishings are in good shape and the surrounding area is pleasant. Overall a very pleasant stay, of visiting the area again we would rent again. Very convenient to a boat lunch, we had kayaks, but I wouldn't suggest bringing a boat on a trailer to this cabin as parking is tight. Items of note for future renters that were not abundanly clear in the listing: the kitchen and bathroom are quiet snug but functional. And the bathroom is on the entry/main level while the bedroom is on the lower level.

The cabin is on the side of the mountain so that when on the deck you feel like you are up in the trees. The deck is great, spent a lot of time sitting out there and reading a book and enjoying nature. The cabin is small but perfect for one or two. Just remember that the bedroom is on the lower level and there is no bathroom down there. Also, pay attention to the directions, it took me twenty minutes to find the place. Would stay there again if I am in the area.

The picture of the cabin doesn’t do it justice! It a cute cabin. Perfect for 2. We had a power outage as soon as we got there and Carrie was so sweet and accommodated us for that outage. The next day we had a outage again. Sunday was great we enjoyed sitting on deck. This cabin has everything you need, Carrie is wonderful. I would recommend the stay. On problem you may have if you don’t like narrow roads. But very quiet relaxing and nice. Thank you for everything Carrie

We very much enjoyed our stay at Woodland Retreat. The cabin was clean situated on wooded hill overlooking a narrow inlet cove off of Watauga Lake. The cabin is minimally decorated, but is well equipped. The bed is in a room on the lower level, while the bathroom is on the upper level. The best part of the cabin is the spacious deck. We had brought a small sailboat and there is a boat ramp just a half-mile away, which worked out well! The owner was friendly and easy to communicate with.

This was an amazing little cabin just off Watauga Lake. It was just as pictured, clean, well-furnished, and a perfect getaway spot. If anyone is looking for a small cabin to rent overlooking a recreational lake and nearby to the Appalachian Trail this is one to visit. I had a great time here!

My wife wanted a get away from home for the weekend. Well, i picked here. We loved it. So cute and so quiet. When nightfall hits, it really hits. Perfect for those that cant stand street lights while sleeping. We really enjoyed our time here, and hope to stay again!

Woodland Retreat is just what we needed for some Spring Break R and R. This little cabin is a treasure tucked away in a quiet cove of the lake. We enjoyed sitting on the deck and relaxing while looking at the water. Our lab enjoyed the deck time as well. Very relaxing stay.

Go! You won’t be sorry! This cabin is comfortable and close to so much great hiking. It is quiet and private. Whether you want to be inside or out, this will work. We explored nearby trails, read on the patio and enjoyed the television. We hope to go back when it’s warm enough to get on the lake. Carrie never missed a beat. And she left us chocolates!

A beautiful 1 bedroom cabin to relax and getaway from it all! Located in the magnificent Tennessee Mountains near gorgeous Wautaga Lake. The cabin had everything we needed and more. It was exceptionally clean and obviously very well taken care of. Nice rocking chairs on the back deck overlooking the lake. We had a great time and would recommend staying here!

The owner was very responsive throughout the check-in. The location is off the beaten path. Extremely quiet. The atmosphere is comfortable and minimalistic. We visited local wineries and got the much needed R&R that we looked forward to.

Amazing and beautiful cabin! Everything you could need has been thought of by the host. My only complaint...my work schedule caused me to not be able to see the amazing scenary as it was always dark when i was there. Side note, you are in the mountains, it is dark lol
