The home is just beautiful. The history of the building you can see and feel. The details of the structure and the big windows are just perfect.
We were able to walk everywhere and see many beautiful sights. The city is alive and with the big windows you can hear the noises of the busy city.
If you are looking for quiet this may not be for you.. but if you love the city life.. this is just perfect. Once you close the windows it's quiet and peaceful.
This is a great place to stay if you want to explore the heart of one of the biggest cities in the world. Right next to the Zocalo. You just cannot ask for more.
Thank you for allowing us to experience Mexico City and feel part of history and culture.

We loved our stay - clean comfy secure with everything you need- and the historical details of the building itself are so interesting - no elevator so make sure you are good with stairs and we walked to almost everywhere - highly recommend !

My family and I enjoyed our time for the most part at Casa Sauto. The old historical building had a really cool vibe for our stay in Mexico City. We were close to so many things and within walking distance to many.
I think our only complaint is no a/c, which wasn't to bad in the evening because we could open up windows with fans on but trying to go to sleep was difficult due to noise. Also there are street lights right outside the window and only light linen curtains which did not block out the light, so we had to use some clothes as sleeping masks. All in all we enjoyed our stay.

Had a lovely stay. Place is as advertised. Everyone was friendly and helpful. We did use washer and dryer as we stayed 11 nights. It is not in the unit but very easy to use with help of staff. Fernanda was quick to respond to questions. We were able to walk to many places for sightseeing and food. Took uber for places further away. Highly recommend.

Great place to stay in in the middle of Mexico City. It’s actually overall a very quiet area to stay in for a major city for much of the evening and night but it can be punctuated by random street noises.

We had a great stay. Location was perfect for walking around and seeing Mexico City. Lots of restaurants, shopping, and sightseeing nearby.

The suite was very clean and walking distance from a lot of museums. The beds were very firm/hard. The window panels keep the light and sound out. The check in process was easy. We happened to be there while they filmed scene's for the show SWAT outside the building and across the street at the Cathedral. We plan another trip next year.

We had an amazing stay. The check in process was easy and they even let us check in early which was awesome. The suite was right of the square and it was perfect. There were church bells and tons of activities but in the evening everything closed up and it was peaceful. We had a great time. We would stay again or recommend any one to stay here. We will be back!

Beautiful classic style apartment at the heart of Centro Historico, windows overlook the Cathedral and Zocalo. Short walk from major must-see sights in CDMX Centro. Great space with two bedrooms a kitchenette, space for at least 6. The space is very secure because you are so close to the Palacio National. Tons of street food options, nearby connivence stores, restaurants, shops, etc. Here you feel like you are in true Mexico City unlike Polanco or Roma.
The building is 500 years-old, historic, and most likely where Montezuma’s palace stood. The shower is good, plenty of pressure and water, but the hot water is limited to every 7-10 min before recharge. Not a big deal, our group of 5 had no issues. There’s no AC but the fans and open windows in the evening cool things down perfectly. The shutters keep the light and sound out, and we had deep sleep each night with no issue.
Definitely recommend if you want a classic, beautiful space at the heart of one of the world’s great cities.

This was the perfect location for a 4 night stay to introduce my 3 boys (15,13 & 13) to Mexico City. Central to all the major cultural/historical sites in CDMX. The property was as advertised. If you have an opportunity, stay at Casa Sauto.
We felt safe, comfortable, and looking forward to our next stay!

This property is beautiful!! The neighborhood has good restaurants and is close to everything in the historic district. It is very quiet inside. Communication was easy and the room had everything we needed. We were a group of 5 women and there was plenty of room. It is the perfect spot to enjoy this wonderful city full of museums, parks, and culture.

We enjoyed our stay in this historic apartment. It was clean and functional and fit our needs perfectly. It is conveniently located in the centro historico district. It was very easy to get wherever we needed to go using Uber which was very reliable and cheap. The kitchen was on the basic side and there were no grocery stores nearby, but plenty of inexpensive restaurants.

I am always looking for places that have extra charm, character, and comfort and this was outstanding. We felt like we were at the center of the world - only two blocks away according to the Aztecs, actually :-) The amenities are great- very useful kitchen, nice bathroom with amazing shower and water pressure, ample filtered water, and lots of space. We felt very secure behind three separate layers of locks and staff and cameras on-site. The location is perfect for getting everywhere else since it steps from the metro and there are lots of Ubers. We ate well in the neighborhood- Cafe Azul Historico and Opera Cafe were very special! The noise and light from the street is easily blocked with the high quality windows with shutters for blackout and curtains for privacy, and always ended in dead quiet by 11, a bit later on Fridays and Saturdays. Waking up to watching the Mexican flag hoisted over the Zocolo at sunrise is priceless!

We really enjoyed our stay in this cool historic building with so much around to enjoy. Nice to be on the second floor overlooking such a bustling area of Mexico City. We had a 5 day stay and found the location to be great for walking around in every direction for great food, shopping and exploring. Street noise at night decreased by closing the shutters but nice to get fresh cool air in as well. Didn't expect mosquitos, but they found us and were a bit annoying late at night so bring some repellant just in case. Otherwise , well worth it!

My family and I had a terrific time spending an extended weekend at Casa Sauto. Conveniently located to many spots that were on our list to see. Plenty to see and do in the centro histórico. A true gem with fascinating history. Would highly recommend.

We really enjoyed our stay at this historic location. The rooms were big and the beds were comfortable. The large windows were fun to look out on the bustling neighborhood. We felt very safe with three sets of locking doors. The location was great for exploring the historic neighborhood and eating amazing street food as well as cafes.

Awesome location, awesome property!
Flew from Florida to CDMX and the entire time I had been communicating with Feenanda, who provided us with tips and made recommendations on places to go, eat, etc.
You're right by the Zocalo and can literally see the Turibus from there, several places to eat at a walking distance, tours, etc.

The building is in a great location and really beautiful inside. It’s amazing how they creatively remodeled to get plumbing and electrical while keeping the original old building feel. The hospitality was great as well! Thanks Fernanda

If you love the historic buildings in El Centro, this is for you!
We were the very first guests in one of a recently renovated group of apartments and we were extremely happy with our choice for a six-night stay. The owners maintained the feel and character of the old colonial building while providing all necessary modern conveniences and they didn’t cut corners. We believe it must have been a labor of love as well as a money making venture.
The location right off the Zocolo was fantastic, we could see the Cathedral from our windows. (The view was better than I thought it would be.) We'd stayed in this area before and found it too noisy but thanks to new "soundproof" French doors, it was extremely quiet – we were never disturbed.
There's also a very nice communal living space, like an extra big living room. We didn't use it but it would be a perfect place for a group to hang out or have meetings, whatever.
We've stayed in Mexico City many times and this is definitely the place we'll come back to next time. We wish the owners good luck!
