My family really enjoyed our stay. The place was clean and had everything we needed. The backyard views and sounds of nature were amazing. We had a great time on the river. Fun for the entire family. Great fishing, and kayaking down stream was a blast. The house was spacious and comfortable. The one bathroom is an inconvenience for so many people, but we were willing to make it work because of all the other great features. My only complaint if you want to call it that is the bunk room was hot, it could use its own a/c unit or at least a few more fans to circulate the air. Other than that we really enjoyed our stay and plan to be back. The owners do a great job with letting you know all the details, and provide recommendations on things to do in the area.

Had a wonderful stay with my family for Father's Day weekend. My 3 kids loved playing in the river and my husband enjoyed catching tons of fish!
Would definitely come back!

Peaceful, comfortable and everything you need.
We took this trip with children ages 8-13. Upon arriving, we were all impressed with the condition of the house. There were games, towels rolled up and available for swimming and showering. The travelers journal was adorable and a treat to read. The beds, pillows and linen were comfortable for sleeping and the back porch surrounding the large tree was beautiful.
I feel like the owner thought about everything you will need and it was all readily available making this stay convenient.
We came during a drought but we still managed to find areas in the river for swimming and fishing.
We drove down the rode to “Quince”. Worth the short drive..the kids had fun jumping into the cool clear water.
We would love to make this a yearly family trip.
Thank you.

Great stay in Campwood
Our stay was lovely! The house was just as described and pictured, but the nap in the hammock listening to the river far exceeded expectations! The owners were quick with communication and very accommodating. We enjoyed our stay and look forward to coming back!

Totally Satisfied
My experience prior and during our stay was a pleasant one. The property manager was prompt at answering questions and her response time quick and helpful. The home is bigger than expected which was a nice surprise. The location of the home is just a few minutes from town and sits a little back from the main road. I initially thought we would be disturbed from the traffic but come dawn it was dark, quiet and peaceful. We sat outback and enjoyed listening to the deer in the distance. We also enjoyed the sense of country life and going down to the riverbank to kayak. Back to the house, every room was clean, the beds were very comfortable, restroom was clean and full of fresh clean towels. The window doesn’t have a means to lock and initially was a concern until we realized that it would be extremely difficult to access the window from outside because it’s up high. I loved having a washer and dryer too. I will definitely select this little gem on our next visit to Campwood.
Thank you,
Donna

Great secluded location
Owner was very accommodating and allowed one of the guest to check in early since he made it to the house before the rest of us. The river was a short bike ride behind the house and there’s a great swimming hole about 100 yards left of the hammocks, everyone really enjoyed themselves. They had bikes, kayaks, bbq pit and fire pit all available for your use. Great weekend getaway!

Great times!!!
Everything was absolutely beautiful. The kitchen could use more light , and the ashes could have been removed from the fire pit but luckily we spent so much time on the river we were to tired to start a fire and make s’mores. Other than that everything was perfect. No complaints just suggestions. We will stay again if our busy lives permit it. Thanks for the memories.

Most Enjoyable & Relaxing Trip We’ve Had in a Long Time
Such a great time in this quiet little town. Enjoyed hanging out at the dam, The Quince Nueces River, tubing on The Frio. The 40 min drive to Leakey was spectacular and a must see!!! Morning coffee on the back deck watching the hummingbirds and wildlife were a treat. Each late afternoon was spent on the property down by the river sitting in the hammocks, river and kayaking. Evenings were enjoyed watching the nights sky filled with stars sitting by the fire and grilling on the pit. I was a little concerned about the one bathroom and enough hot water for night time showers but it all was fine and plenty of hot water. Marci is the perfect host and responds quickly with any questions you may have. Definitely recommend renting the golf cart.

Perfect private getaway
Nomad Ranch is far from it all, we were on the river for 3 days and never saw another person. This was our first time on the Nueces and cannot believe crystal clear water. We've visited Concan a number of times over the years and being only 25 minutes away, the difference is stunning. The home much larger than the photos show and it was immaculate and everything we needed was at our fingertips. Never met Marci face to face but she always responded to texts or calls immediately. Can't wait for the new cabin to finish so we can bring the rest of the fam later this summer!
