If you're looking for a break from the everyday hustle & bustle then the Blue Moon Guesthouse has you covered. This small family-run accommodation is set in between an amazing beach, a jungle wilderness and a lovely village which is very rural. If you are looking for that typical package holiday where you have room service and loungers by the beach then this isn't the place for you. Instead, you will be greeted by the enchanted sounds of a tropical rainforest and views out over the virgin bush. The accommodation is clean and very functional and the hosts are just amazing. Marilyn and Robert will go out of their way to ensure your stay is very special. From the airport pickup to the arrangement of excursions and tours to your very own beach transfer service, they are there for you. We stayed 6 nights and were treated to wonderful home-cooked meals and great conversation. The hosts are very modest about their guesthouse but our stay was very magical for several reasons including a guided hike through the jungle to a picturesque waterfall. No other tourists there, and the local beach really is unspoilt. Please give the Blue Moon Guesthouse a try, especially for those who want to experience a unique tropical adventure.
It was perfect for us. We had nothing negative to say about our experience.

Robert est très gentil
Beaucoup de bruit, très loin de la ville, taxi hors de prix pour venir

It’s a quiet place far from puerto prinsesa city.. surrounded by mountains. It has billiard table which we enjoyed. Very accommodating and nice owners Robert and Marilyn.
The ac automatically shut down in the middle of the night. Probably because it was solar powered

The staff were lovely, friendly, sociable and helpful. Good food was either made on site or bought from nearby restaurants. Though it's not right on a beach, a lovely beach is only 5 minutes away by car or motorbike. The forest-covered hills were beautiful and made up the view from the little pool which was always clean and warm.
Nothing.

Marilyn went out of Her way to make sure that we had everything we needed we rented our motorcycle there gave us rides as needed, and also booked Tours for us.
Amazing authentic Filipino cooking and the best banana pancakes EVER...
Not Much to dislike🤷🏼♂️

Excellent hospitality and local knowledge. Robert and Marrion were excellent hosts who made us feel welcome. It was thanks to them that we were able to explore the 100 caves and underground rivers, transporting us to these must see attractions for which we were grateful. Their transport rates were very good as was the breakfast cooked by Robert’s wife. The pizzas made on site are worthy of the positive reviews given by other customers! The billiards table is a bonus!
I didn’t stay long enough to find out but I’m confident that there’s nothing in the guesthouse with its lovely grounds and Mountain View’s that could draw a negative comment.

lovely and welcoming people. we arrived at around 1030 just as they were closing up the bar but we were still offered food and drinks which was really nice. Joel’s pizza was absolutely incredible!!!! definitely recommend getting it if you stay!! the staff were super friendly and helpful, offer loads of transport to beaches and Puerto Princesa city. motorbikes also available to rent! the lounge area/bar area was lovely and great to hang out in.
the location wasn’t great in terms of supermarkets/restaurants. we stayed in the outdoor room. if like us you’re not quite climatized to heat I’d recommend booking the indoor rooms as we were absolutely SWEATING 24/7. a fan was provided in the room but it was so warm it was just blowing warm air…the toilet is out of the room and down a small alley which was popular with lizards, moths, flies etc, even frogs which I am absolutely petrified of!!! was quite noisy with all the insects around us but if you’re outdoorsy and don’t mind bugs I would recommend! it’s a shame as the place was lovely and the owners did a fantastic job at making us feel welcome! :)

Robert and Marylin were the perfect hosts ! We had such an enjoyable time at Blue Moon Guesthouse, the wonderful Joel took great care of us and his pizzas were the best we've ever had. Location was perfectly secluded but close to shops and the beautiful beach. It was also only a 40 min moped ride to Puerto Princesa which has some stunning views along the way. Our room / hut was perfect, we fell asleep to the sounds of nature every night ! Thanks so much to Joel, Robert and Marylin for a wonderful stay!

The hotel overall was very good value for money. The hosts were lovely and very accommodating. The breakfast was also very nice. The location was beautiful but very remote.
The room was very basic with no aircon. The signal if any was very poor. Robert did give us a free SIM card to use during our stay but this also didn't work. The wifi didn't work either. The hotel is very remote and the bikes to rent were not available to use during our stay.

beautiful property and room and the owners were very lovely, however there was a SERIOUS bed bug infestation :( we had itchy bites all over us after the first two nights and on our third night we asked to move room. we were moved, but we didn’t feel our concerns were taken seriously and I’m unsure as to whether the owner has done anything to address the problem.
bed bugs!!

Robert and his wife were amazing hosts, delicious breakfast every morning and free shuttle to and from the beach.
This was a great location to spend some time relaxing at the beach.
Really enjoyed the pizzas for dinner as well.
We were also able to rent motorbikes for the day to visit the Underground River which was fantastic.

Loved everything about blue moon, its in a really beautiful area away from the noise and crowds of Puerto Princessa but still close enough if you need to travel in,10 mins away from two of the best beachs in Palawan without the crowds, lovely owners who give it that homely feel, with lovely home cooked food and delicious fresh pizza whenever you get the munchies, its got a bar with a pool table hammocks to chill out in books to read even netflix if you fancied a film night and if all that chilling out becomes to much you can take a cooling dip in there plunge pool.
I really enjoyed my time there and took out one of the motorbikes to explore the surrounding area which was so green and lush.
Would highly recommend staying at this special place
Nothing not to like really, didnt like that i had to leave after three enjoyable nights😞
4.3
Great mountain location, quaint - 3 cottages, separate and private, good concrete construction with A/C. Best Attribute: Owner/hotel will rent you a motorbike. If you don't ride then this is probably not the place for you. If you do ride then it is perfect. Rent the motorbike and explore the numerous beaches and villages. The nearest beach is 10 minutes on the motorbike, or 40 minutes walking (hiking, ~250 meters vertical). Thus, you need to rent the motorbike, 550 pesos per day. Owner is Canadian, very friendly, helpful. The beaches and mountain scenery are excellent.
Dislikes: nothing worth mentioning....it would be petty.

Greetings to Bob! Nice owners, good location, billiard table, beers, pizza (new stuff) - everything just perfect!
All good

Great people, great accommodation, great location and above all excellent pizza. The best living in Palawan!

The blue moon guest house really does feel like a home. You are welcomed by a lovely couple that show you to your very equiped room. Shower was warm which was unexpecte luxary, towels were crisp and the view from the balcony was beautiful and almost 360° which is amazing to savour a lovely sunset in the middle of the jungle. Robert has many stories of his time as a camera man and it was lovely hearing them.
They also welcome neighbours to come play basketball on his court in the evening which I find really cool!
The pool was amazing and we loved dipping our toes!
Robert's wife made us great food in the evening and also washed our dirty cloth for a very fair amount of money!
I would definatly recommend this place, it is gorgeous!
You must be warned it is a bit far from town so it's mostly peace in quiet which was great in our case, they are also willing to drive you everywhere for a 1000p.
We had a few little issues with the internet but Robert did his very best to fix and it is was all good in the end so it shouldn't be a problem for the next ones !

Extremely friendly couple owning the place!
5 mins from a beautiful beach and we got home cooked meals :)

The owners are really friendly, and it was fun to have dinner with the other guests at night. Nice pancakes for breakfast too. We could ride along to and from the beach, and got a ride to the airport, very convenient. The shared areas are nice.
We didn't enjoy the standard room, I guess it needs some love/freshing up. It wasn't very clean, with stains and dirt in the bathroom and lots of (dead) bugs all over the walls and ceiling. Maybe there also was a lot of mold (ceiling, bed?) because we got allergies from it. The other rooms look better.
4.3
the guesthouse is quite something. it's like a little gem in the middle of nowhere. the beach is only a 5min drive and it's a really peaceful place with beautiful views. the owners are nice and the homemade breakfast was delicious! we really enjoyed our stay and wish we could have stay longer
nothing :-)

The service was great, with great facilities and a beautiful location next to a small village.
The bathroom smelled a little bit.
4.3
Amazing surroundings, great hosts, nice place to chill and get some rest up in the mountains
4.3
The location to the beach, nature, quiet, good pancakes... Wife from the owner, friendly.
The worst thing was the chemical smell in the whole room from the cleaning products. At the bathroom and at the toilet, the eyes started to burn and the air stung in the lung
Poor WiFi, no internet signal, 650 for a scooter, overpriced, Normally I paid 300 - 400 Pesos. AC loud and no remote, each service they offers, totally overpriced.

I absolutely loved my stay here, Marilyn and Robert were incredibly welcoming, considerate and caring hosts. They made me feel very at home and went the extra mile to make sure I felt safe and comfortable as a solo female traveller. The grounds and location were particularly beautiful and I enjoyed relaxing in the river at the bottom of the garden as well as using the pavilion to practice yoga. From the breakfast table and plunge pool there was a wonderful view to the mountain and jungle. I also loved to relax in the hammock and play pool with locals. Marilyn and her family are wonderful cooks and prepared gorgeous breakfast and dinners for me, going to the effort to prepare vegetarian meals for me too. I loved that the property was rural but also in a great location to get to beautiful locals beaches and half way between Puerto Princesa City and the subterranean river further north. Can’t recommend my stay here enough!

I really loved the place very much, and i really thank robert and his great wife to welcome me and being kind with me, they were kind and helpful, as well as the place is like paradise nature around you and beach by motorbikes only 5 minute, it was a great experience
everything is beautiful

Marilyn, the host, was amazingly friendly, accommodating, and helpful. The food was great. The facilities and and extras exceeded expectations.
The place is 25km away from the city and airport, yet very well placed still to see the main attractions in the island to feel isolated and at peace with your surroundings (beaches!), culture, and locals.

We're really amazed on the mountain view from our room. Will definitely recommend this to our family or friends. 💛
Just improve some of the amenities.
4.3
It was very beautiful and located near a nice beach. Our room was very clean and the owners didn't mind driving us to the beach and a few other places. We also went on a tour together with another guest. I can't say anything bad about this place!
4.3
First time I had Solo travel, so the comments about this guesthouse on booking.com did not give me any clue where I going, But this was my lucky shot, I met exceptional friendly intelligent, hospital owners, I had an amazing time, find friends, food was amazing for me, bar after a long day to chill, the amazing beach is 5 min from house, I had rented a scooter from the house. Easy drive to the Puerto Princesa if you want to (Just take a raincoat if rain starts). The room was cool, with air-conditioning. Maybe I miss more to write here but...
In Summary:
I find new amazing friends,
Runaway from a from civilization,
Long nights and amazing conversations,
Beach for surf, and local people talk,
Tasty food,
Amazing memories,
Thank you and good luck!
