Our family had the best time at this house! The location on the mountain and the views were breathtaking! The house was so spacious and accommodating for our family. We loved the back decks and all of the seating areas to enjoy the outdoors. The boy’s absolutely loved the game room! The house had everything we needed and a great kitchen to cook in. It was also a perfect location to take fun day trips…near a lake, waterfalls, activities, local towns. Thank you, Colleen! We hope to return sometime soon!

We loved our stay at the Black bear hideaway! Our vacation was better than we expected. Hats off to Colleen and Fred, they had everything we needed and more. The house and the views are magnificent. Great location up on the mountain but close enough to adventure out to the surrounding areas.

Beautiful home with a spectacular view of lake and mountains. We stayed for a month and
Never ran out of the basics… paper towel, TP, shampoo, soap, washing detergent and all the cleaning supplies. We have never stayed in a rental that had so much available. The kitchen is stocked with all the basics plus lots of spices. The beds were very comfortable. We loved to sit and watch all the birds at the feeders…. Bird seed supplied! And deer too. Very quite neighborhood and close to
Golf courses and pickleball courts in Hayesville. We were able to park our car in the garage. Looking forward to staying here again next year.

This house was stunning inside and out. Everything was super clean and well-maintained. It felt like we were right at home but with an amazing view of the lake and mountains.

This is our 3rd time staying in this "cabin" and so that should tell you a lot. The cabin is clean, comfortable, roomy, quiet and well stocked. The owner is friendly, helpful and accessible via text or phone. The view of Lake Chatuge and the mountains is phenomenal. The hidden game room is a fun place to play billiards, ping pong, etc. Privacy is available since there are three floors with a deck on each floor. The decks on the first and second floors are enormous. What is there not to like about this place? Nothing - it is great!

If we could give 10 stars we would! My wife Deb and I have stayed at various VRBO homes and this one ranks right at the very top. Incredible views, impeccably clean, fully stocked with every need you can think of, and owners who obviously care not only about their home but their guests also. Don't look any further, this is the one!

The house, the view, and the owner make this our favorite rental. The house is clean, very comfortable and nicely laid out. There is plenty of room for multiple guests, with well-stocked kitchen and multiple, roomy decks. The view is delightful, looking over Chatuge Lake and the mountains. The owner is very responsive and texts or calls if help is needed. We will be going back again soon.

Mountains Galore
Our family of 3 brothers and the wives have started annual trips. This home is the most beautiful scenery we have seen. Four decks on the house looking at mountains, 5 star accommodations, terrific hosts!!love. Oh and don't forget the numerous birds and hummingbirds that showed up all day long.
The house is so close to Hayesville, Murphy and Hiawassee.

Visiting the mountains…and grandma and grandpa
From check in, to check out, our stay was simply fabulous. Having never stayed on-top a mountain, we had to adjust to the driveway and incline, but we learned quickly. We had a brief struggle getting the temperature adjusted to suit the needs of all our guests staying with us, however Colleen was very responsive.

Favorite spot so far
Colleen was so welcoming, the whole whole house has such nice little touches to help make your stay enjoyable, even with a book of local spots to check out with stars on their favorites. Everyone in town is so friendly. And the view!!! I couldn't get away from that deck and the most spectacular view I've ever seen! It was the perfect spot for our wedding ceremony!! Thanks again Colleen, we can't wait to come back!!

Amazing stay
Everything about the property, Colleen and family reunion was truly amazing. Colleen was so very kind and prompt with communication! The view from the decks were absolutely gorgeous! The location of her home is central to several towns and to Georgia. My family and I did not want to leave and built precious memories together. The home was very clean. Colleen has made sure that the home is stocked with everything that you could possibly need from preparing meals to personal care. The home is decorated beautifully. My favorite view was looking out of the bathroom window and seeing the valley and lake. The view was amazing! I will definitely be returning in the future.

Amazing getaway
Our family stayed at Black Bear Hideaway for Labor Day weekend and had an amazing time. The views from all three decks were breathtaking. Each morning I enjoyed coffee on the patio and listened to the sounds of nature while I took in the spectacular view. Our son had a blast playing pool and ping pong in the hidden game room. The decor throughout the entire home was simply beautiful. Colleen was a terrific host and provided recommendations for fun activities in the surrounding area. We could not have asked for a better weekend getaway and cannot wait to return to this beautiful home.

Everything was great
We’ll-stocked, clean, and spacious. Communications from the owner were informative and helpful. My sister and I stayed here while visiting local family, but it would be great for a much larger group as well.

Beautiful home with an incredible view!
This was my first time in this part of the country, and the house was amazing. Immaculately clean, in a beautiful and quiet neighborhood, and the views are just as incredible as advertised. Colleen was tremendously helpful both before and during our stay. There are some beautiful waterfalls around 45 minutes away, as well as river tubing, which was very relaxing. My only recommendation is to bring a four-wheel-drive vehicle if possible, since it can be helpful in getting to a couple of the trail heads. Definitely plan on staying here again!

Delightful home with wonderful view
This house was very nearly perfect, with very comfortable furniture, plentiful TVs, well-stocked kitchen, and large decks with mountain views and big sky. My husband enjoyed seeing the constellations, a passing satellite and the Milky Way. When the weather clears, you can see multiple levels of mountains - very impressive.
As described in the property description, the smart TVs are set up for streaming and there is no cable connection. So bring your passwords for streaming or your app for connecting to your network provider.
The house was clean. The owner initiated communication in a timely manner and responded to texts immediately. The decor was enjoyable to look at and admire. The hidden game room is fun with lots of furniture for an audience. In general, there is lots of room for a group to spread out. Overall a very positive experience, and we hope to be back soon.
