Great location. Cheap. Good amenities. Excellent staff.
There are weird people around in the plaza botero. But the security measures have improved dramatically over the past few years. There is police presence at every corner of the street. So there should be nothing to worry about. Just use common sense. Medellin is probably a lot safer city than Chicago.

Hotel is nice and comfortable. The room was cleaned every day.
The location of the hotel is not good. There are a lot of homeless people around outside, and it is on a closed pedestrian street. Therefore, taxis/ubers can not leave you in front but close to it.
Also you can hear everything from outside.

The staff was nice and the room was big.
There was no real shower, no shower head, just a stream of water. It was very hard to adjust water temperature it was either very hot or very cold. We did not like the location, its in the middle of the shopping area, but not very much things to do. Uber or taxi cant take you to the hotel because it is in the walking area.

The staff in the hotel is super friendly, they are a perfect team! But they obviously cannot change the location.
Many people warned be about this area, that it is really unsafe and in the night, the doors of the hotel were also locked and many crazy people outside. The hotel is often used as "Motel", so just go there with your couple or a "paid partner" for a few hours. For this it is properly enough, as holidays to discover Medellin, I would not choose it again.

Location is very convenient. It's at the heart of the city, outside is chaos, inside the hotel is kind of peaceful. The metro is right in front of the hotel, lots of eating places. The room is fine, not great, but has the essentials.
Pros and cons about the location, it was a shock the first night, when I got used to it, it was fine. Night time was noisy though.

It's a hotel in a 'lively' neighbourhood, right in the centre of Medellin. With all the good and also the bad.
Putas and junkies galore if you go 2 blocks left, beautiful buildings and I love Medellin signs if you exit to the right.
Weekend market, lots of shopping streets, subway stop at 200 metres, 24 hour bakery at 30 metres.
Yet my room (4th floor) was nice and quiet. Also quite large and well kept. Good shower too.
They stored my luggage for free when I went to San Andres for a few days.
They are not a threat, but some of the people hanging in the neighbourhood at night are quite shady..
Reception never seems to have correct change, but you can buy water or drinks to match the numbers. ;)

Initially booked for 2 nights and ended up staying for 9 more! Comfortable room, prime location just off the Parque Berrio Metro stop, and hotel staff very hospitable and accommodating; especially Juan at the front desk. This was my 3rd time in Medellín so I knew what to expect. With so many places to stay in El Centro, it's worth the minimal extra to stay here!
I was hesitant from reading negative reviews but ended up very pleased! I was not charged an extra amount. Noise was never a factor from inside/outside the facility or that couldn't be drowned out with the fan. A hole in the screen did not infest the room with mosquitoes/bugs. The shower, hot water could've been better but I've had worse! This general area is certainly not for everyone and can be intense with the crowds. However, Plaza Botero is the only place I learned to avoid at night - not because of safety but roving vendors that swarmed and would not take No as an answer.

They failed to rob me. That's nice.
Insisted I pay them more than the final price of the reservation even though I had the confirmation from Booking saying exactly what the final price was. Wasted more than an hour of our time because they just couldn't wrap their heads around the fact that I was going to let myself be robbed. The place is run by crooks so watch your back and check your change and all the math yourself.
Extremely noisy outside and inside.

It's near the metro station and has food options and the city center around. Good WiFi and drinkable water provided.
I had to pay 14% more than the displayed price on booking.com. These are the "additional fees and charges". I booked over 100 accomodations on booking.com and never had that.
There is only a mosquito net in the bathroom window, which is not air-tide. In the main room the window has no mosquito net. So mosquitos came into the room.
The hot water needed some time to come.

Right beside metro station. Very clean. Great staff. Hot water and wifi were awesome. I would stay here again.
The hotel itself was great. Plaza Botero was full of seedy characters.

The staff was friendly enough.
This isn't just a hotel, they also have 3hr. Rooms for THOSE activities .... didn't know that. So just keep that in mind, also you can't go out at night too many shady characters in thr area.

Perfect location, clean and comfortable rooms, friendly and helpful staff, amazing value. I have spent nearly a month in this hotel and will keep coming back!
