About this house rental
As you step out of the car and stretch, you immediately feel the warmth of the sun on your shoulders and hear the birds chirping as you first lay eyes on Locke Lake Waterfront Retreat. The trees sway in the breeze as your eye catches upon expansive views of the sparkling lake, just beyond the lush landscaped and multi-tiered patio in the back yard. As you enter the house, you will instantly feel at home with the comfortable, modern farmhouse décor. Drop your bags, and step onto the large back deck to take in the full view of the lake, then settle in to the chaise lounge chairs with a drink and listen to the loons while someone starts dinner on the grill. After dinner, enjoy s’mores around the fire pit and listen to the music and laughter of family and friends echo across the lake. You can relax on the couch and watch a movie, or head to the game room and play board games, a rousing game of shuffleboard, or the arcade game Golden Tee, then retire to your bedrooms for a restful evening. When you wake up, you can greet the quiet morning from the screened in porch with a cup of coffee in your hand as you watch the sun rise over the lake. As everyone else awakens, you get ready to enjoy the day of nearby hiking, dock fishing, waterfront swimming, boating, and playing. There is a private dock, nearby walkable beach, boats, a fire pit, a family game room, screened in porch, well equipped kitchen, four Smart TVs, and many comfortable places to unwind at Locke Lake Waterfront Retreat!

We had a great visit and highly recommend this spot on the lake. Everything about the house was perfect.

This is a lovely lake home with a stunning view. It has a short dock for fishing and a ladder for lowering oneself into the water. There is a little cleared area where one can launch kayaks and walk into the water. If you have little kids, there is also a swimming pool a manageable walk away. The second floor screened porch was our favorite gathering spot during the day. There is a nice glass-topped dining table on the deck (bring an outdoor table cloth) and also a dining table for 6 indoors. The bedrooms and bathrooms were exceptionally clean. Husband points out that the kitchen was thoughtfully outfitted with any item you would need to create meals, and the large grill functioned well. Thank you Silva Family!

The Locke Lake House was wonderful. We had 4 adults and 4 children and there were plenty of water floats, paddle boards, and kayaks to use on the Lake. Would recommend water shoes especially for smaller children. The house was large with an amazing screened in porch. The kids bunk room was huge and they loved it. Beds were super comfortable and we also enjoyed the games and game room downstairs. Would recommend Chucksters which is 20 minutes away if you have kids age 8 and up. Also great views from the top of Mount Major. Overall a good stay.

The cleanest and most equipped rental we’ve ever stayed in! The indoor pictures don’t do it justice. The lake is beautiful and we loved the s’mores on the fire. If you don’t mind the stairs, this is perfect!

My three adult brothers, my father, and I flew into the area from around the world to celebrate my brother’s college graduation and we needed a place to stay. This house was perfect! It is on a gorgeous lake, with both a second story screened porch and a deck to enjoy the view. Down the stairs is the lakeside patio, beautifully landscaped, with a fire pit and Adirondack chairs (great for family photos with the azaleas in bloom!).
Inside the house there are so many surprising amenities! The furnishings are warm, inviting, comfortable, and luxurious without feeling pretentious. The beds were firm but soft; there were different pillows available to suit your needs, and the bedding rivaled that of a fine hotel. I slept like a baby! Even the toiletries were high end. The kitchen had high quality cookware and knives— two things that rentals typically skimp on. There was a pantry of staples available for our use (thanks for the hot cocoa!) and we were greeted with a generous basket of smore fixings. Check In and check out were super easy and the host was immediately responsive when needed. One brother left his coat and sunglasses at the House and the host arranged to have them shipped to me — what amazing service! I’ve stayed in a lot of home rentals in this country and around the world (with a larger family, we much prefer a house over a cramped hotel room) and this house was definitely one of the best.

The house was WONDERFUL, SUPER clean and tastefully decorated. The floor plan a dream for kids and moms. The kitchen was well equiped, beds extremely comfortable, and multiple hang out spaces in and outside. We used the canoe which was a bonus not.to have to bring - and the fire pit was put to use and wonderful on the chilly fall night! Molly left a wonderful tin of smore fixings (we left for the next lucky guest as we had brought some) which was so nice! The location was central to our excursions to Weirs beach area and Castle in the clouds - we are booking for next year it was so wonderful!! Perfect away time for all of us! Thank you so much for allowing us to enjoy your home! I am going to miss the water view when I wake up tomorrow! Till next year...

Great home, comfortable beds and furniture. Beautful sunrise on the deck or screened porch. Everything we needed in the kitchen to cook and clean. We brought kayaks and life jackets but didnt need to There were plenty there already, all sizes. All of us enjoyed the relaxing stay. It was a great atmosphere for friends yet still allowed for privacy and comfort with all the spacious rooms.

This lake retreat is wonderful. Great location, well appointed and comfortable house, fun lake toys, nice outdoor space with fire pit, dock and gorgeous lake. Lake was not too busy and great for kayaking, swimming and SUP. Great touch was the s’mores fixings left by the host!

We have been renting 2 weeks every summer for the past 17 years and this is the cleanest, most comfortable and most functional ever. If you are looking for serenity, peacefulness and quiet this is the place for you. We loved the screened in porch on rainy days and the deck and beautiful waterfront on sunny days. We had drinks and snacks before dinner and then grilled most every night. We can’t wait to return next year.

Waking to sounds of ducks and falling asleep to the loons "I'm over here" calls made for a fantastic, relaxing and super healthy visit to the Granite State. The nightly fire pit was a treat to indulge on all the smores you can make, and the personal dock with all the water toys (kayaks, canoe, SUPs) was the real deal closer for us and the property certainly came through with all of them - super fun.

This property had everything shown on the website and MORE! It was clean, modern and spacious. We had all the comforts of home on this vacation…and then some. There were plenty of different areas to hang out with family or by yourself reading a book. Our favorite family spot in the morning was the screened-in porch. And what a view of Locke Lake! The kayaks and paddleboards gave us the opportunity to explore what a beautiful lake this property is on. And Molly was super helpful and responsive before, during and after our stay.

We had 8 people; a mix of 2 families. From the 12 year old to the 21 year old and all the adults we have nothing but great things to say.
The house was very clean and well equipped.
The screened in porch was great and the use of all the water gear was perfect. Being able to watch the older kids from the elevated porch was great. They felt like they had freedom while we kept a close eye.
Our plan was to go and enjoy a beautiful home on a lake and that was exactly what we did. I loved the location. Not too far from grocery store, restaurants, or family fun but just far enough our kids were not asking us to take them here, there and everywhere. We enjoyed morning coffee listening to loons to family card games and every moment between. Lots of memories were made.
The owner was quick to respond, kind, and generous. We can’t wait to go back!

My husband, myself, my senior parents, and my three teenagers loved our four-day stay at this property over New Year’s weekend. We wanted a getaway to spend time together and relax and this was perfect. The kids loved the loft and my parents loved the first- floor master bed/bath. Everyone loved the rec room! The living room couch was super comfy, and we all squeezed around the dining table for meals or games. Nice view of the lake. Kids went skiing one day, and we enjoyed a hike at Mount Major as well as excursions to Portsmouth, Concord and Wolfeboro. It was winter so there wasn’t *tons* to do, but we weren’t looking for action-packed days — just a few activities to make sure we weren’t being really lazy :). The house was perfect for us! Only 1.5 hrs away from Boston Logan too!

We traveled from our home in Hawaii to this beautiful Lake House in NH during prime foliage week when the colors and views were spectacular. There were four adults and two eleven-year olds.
The house was spotlessly clean and well equipped. The downstairs master bedroom was perfect for the old folks while the upstairs bedroom and bunk room accommodated the other adults and children. (The eleven-year olds loved the huge bunk room.)
The fire pit added to the enjoyment of our stay and having the makings for s'mores provided was a good welcome gift.
All in all our stay was perfect!

The private lake was so peaceful and quiet. We paddle boarded and kayaked daily. The house is beautiful. Was within an hour of Portsmouth and Concord. Alton had great restaurants but most times we opted to grill on the deck and watch the sunset. Already thinking of coming back!

Cozy and Beautiful
Property was cozy, warm and beautiful! Great winter holiday weekend! Kitchen was well stocked, beds were warm and comfortable and the abundance of games and wifi gave us plenty to do while staying warm and cozy over the long holiday weekend! Molly was great and made sure we had extra blankets, hot cocoa and marshmallows and a clear and sanded driveway for our entry and departure. The scenic views of the snow-capped trees and frozen lake were surprisingly serene to wake up to each morning. We enjoyed the trip immensely and would definitely return for a future stay.

Family getaway
We met our son and family at this beautiful property. We cooked all our meals there, finding a very well equipped kitchen. We had fun with the games in the lower level and took advantage of a beautiful fall evening around the fire pit. Thanks for sharing your home with us!

Great Property!
Really enjoyed the location, the property, and the amenities. Host is really responsive. House is clean, modern, roomy, and very comfortable. View is amazing, and have all the water sports you can handle. We used the firepit, which is really nice for s'mores. The deck and BBQ were all great as well. Location is around 20 minutes to Lake Winnipesaukee and Mt. Major. All in all a great experience, no complaints.

Relaxing girls trip!
We decided to stay at this property for a girls trip where we planned to tour the East coast. The home provided plenty of space for four people, and the property was beautiful and clean. It was a great starting point for trips into Boston, Salem, Vermont, and Maine. The host was very helpful, even providing recommendations for our day trips. Overall, would highly recommend!

Exactly as advertised
Because I've found the reviews of others very helpful, I'd like to add my comments about this property. Exactly as advertised, this lakeside house was very nicely decorated and equipped, with a lovely view of the lake and numerous choices for enjoying the view -- deck, screened porch, balconies, lakeside seating and fire pit. The canoe and kayaks provided our daily activity and there were lots of other "toys" for other ages. Relaxing, serene, but also fun on the water gave us just the vacation experience we were looking for in mid-September, and our host, Molly, was so very attentive and congenial. I highly recommend this property for a delightful lakeside vacation.

Amazing Property
Molly's Locke Lake home is amazing. Every bit as beautiful as the pictures depict. Clean, modern and spacious. Plenty of beds, lots of different areas to hang out; kitchen area, family room, finished basement with games, screened porch, deck, office/lounge, master bedroom private balcony, even the bunk room is huge with plenty of space for imaginative play; and a secret passageway. We were two families and still had room to spare if needed. Super comfortable beds with hotel style bedding. The view was fantastic. The water was warm. Lots of water craft to play on and the dock for fishing. Molly was super helpful with any questions or concerns. It was everything we wanted and we'd return in a heartbeat. Thanks Molly!!

A beautiful retreat!
Everything about this property was excellent! We were happy from beginning to end. We enjoyed relaxing on the lake, at the campfire, and having so much space to spread out. This house could easily and comfortably accommodate two families vacationing. The Silva's didn't leave out anything to make our stay fantastic!

Great time at a beautiful property!
We had a great stay at Locke Lake! The property was beautiful and well maintained. The canoe, kayaks, and paddle boards were enjoyed by the kids and adults (and the fishing off the dock was excellent). The kitchen was well appointed, there were lots of towels (beach and bath), and extra blankets for the cooler nights. Our favorite spot was the screened porch overlooking the lake! Thank you again for having us!

Great stay, immaculate house and amazing views
Wow, just wow! This house was amazing. Although the online photos were nice, they did not do this home justice. It’s so much better in person. We had 4-7 people during different times of the week and there was more than enough room. Very comfortable sleeping arrangements. The second floor bunk bed room is huge! Enough parking for 3-4 cars. The house is just 10 minutes from a grocery store and multiple restaurants. There was a good amount of privacy between the houses on each side. The house was absolutely immaculate. They provided tons of beach towels and extra blankets for cooler nights. There were enough A/C’s to keep the entire house cool on the hot days. They have 2 kayaks, 2 paddleboards, some floats and a canoe. Fishing off the dock was a huge hit as there were many fish biting including a few sizable large mouth bass and even a couple catfish. The basement was perfect for teen to watch movies and play games at night. The lake was quiet and peaceful. We made some wonderful memories and would definitely go back. You can’t go wrong with this rental.
