We really enjoyed our stay at the Red House. It is very clean and had all the amenities we needed. It is located on a quiet street and provided us privacy yet it is close to stores and restaurants which is very convenient. If we ever go back to Rapid City, the Red House will be our first choice to stay. I will definitely recommend the Red House to my friends who are looking to stay in Rapid City. It is 5 stars in my book.

We had an amazing trip to SD. We met Jean when we took our pups outside, so friendly and non-intrusive during our stay. The property is the prefect size and location to experience the Black Hills, Badlands, Mt. Rushmore and Custer State Park. Everything was spotless inside and it was obviously remodeled recently.
Thank You Jean for offering a great place to stay during our visit to Rapid City!

This was our first VRBO experience and it was a five star stay!! This property met every need that we were looking for. We thoroughly enjoyed the quiet street and the distance between other residences, it had a rural feel. The house was clean and we loved that it had wood & tile flooring instead of carpet. The bathroom and walk-in shower gave us plenty of room to get ready for the day. Jean and Bob were awesome! The “Red House” will be remembered when we think of our vacation to South Dakota! Thanks a million Jean and Bob!

The just right place to stay for anyone.
The mattress was just right by any Goldilocks standard. The yard was just right for our dog who was on the look out for cottontail rabbits under and around the fabulous cottonwood tree.
The cabin looks recently remodeled with accessible features in the bathroom, the shower was comfortable with a low threshold, handlebars were thoughtfully placed, just right for any age or ability.
The kitchen was bright with white appliances and plenty of light. Coffee maker was handy on the kitchen counter by the sink.
A couple blocks away is a great grocery store where you buy just about anything, including porridge (oatmeal) for everyone's tastes.
We had no trouble sleeping, the ambient sounds were just right too.

Responded to our questions right away. Would definitely recommend staying here. Thank you for the great vacation stay.

Perfect for what we needed. Wanted to be close to both Rapid City and the Black Hills. A nice clean simple place.

The home is perfectly clean and communication was excellent. We travelled with dogs and having the lawn and big field were perfect for them. The bed is by far the most comfortable bed I’ve ever slept in away from my home. This is a great place!!

Easy to find. Check-in was the easiest I have ever done. Owner was Great. The house was spic and span and ready for us. I will be going back.

The house was very clean and had everything we needed. There were plenty of towels and the bed was comfortable. Our kids (6/8) were able to to share the sofa bed. The internet access was great since we drove into a lot of dead zones and were able to pre-plan our adventures. The location gave great access to either Rushmore or Deadwood. The grocery store was close and allowed us to quickly stock up on essentials. Jean and Bob were very attentive and accommodating to any of our requests.

Nice remodel
Ants and moths a problem. Smell of mothballs pretty strong. We had our dog with us and they sprayed the yard announced. Property owner said she didn’t know either. Very convenient to stores. Convenient access to nice paved path to the creek across the street. Very nice remodel. Great shower.

Little Red House
The little red house worked out perfectly for my wife and I. The central location made it easy to go in any direction. We had zero problems with our stay which made our travels that much more enjoyable knowing we would have a peaceful night in between our adventures during the day. Had our small dog with us and the property worked out exalant for him as well.

Loved the little red house!
My wife and I were visiting her old friends in Rapid City and seeing all the sights. The red house was perfect and really felt like home. The memory foam adjustable bed and slow cooker were pleasant surprises! Jean was the perfect hostess, letting us have our privacy but there when we needed her. She stopped by as we were checking out, which I thought was a very sweet touch. The only minor downside was the traffic noise on the weekend. I have a white noise app, so it wasn't bad. Jean asked for and I suggested a fan. The Red House really was perfect!!

Hidden gem in Rapid City
This was a hidden gem in Rapid City. While there were no breathtaking views from the property, the location made up for it. Grocery store within walking distance, close and easy to find all attractions we wanted to go to. Even though we were next door to the owner, we felt we had plenty of privacy. It was nice knowing the owner was so close in the event we needed anything, we did not however. The home was exceptionally clean and comfortable. The only issue, which is very small, was the internet dropping occasionally. Would definitely stay here again.

Great location for getting to the parks.
This is a very well appointed little house. Seems like a fairly recent remodel that was done well. I didn’t lack for any necessities. Its location is not scenic, but its access to parks and other sights is great. If you have a dog, there is a vacant field next door for the dog to run around in. Also, by the Humane Center around the corner is a very large field. Getting to downtown Rapid City is very convenient.
Would definitely stay here again if in the area.

Happy with our first time at a VRBO property!
Very nice little cabin that was located near city amenities like stores ect. and provided an easy commute to tourist points of interests around the area. This newly remodeled home had a large yard, plenty of parking, washer/dryer, and a full kitchen. Jean, host who lived next door, was so easy to communicate with and made sure that we had everything that we needed. Very dog friendly (yard and nearby walking path). If we were back in the area, we would stay here again.

Hidden Gem in Busy Business Area
At first glance, we were unsure of the location of this property, imagining it to be in the country instead of in the outskirts of the city. However, upon entry, we were pleasantly surprised at how the inside transported us to a place of solitude and comfort for our “home away from home”. The cottage is well-designed to allow for maximum space use, and is updated for a visually appealing setting with which to enjoy.
