I immediately liked the owner, Carol, who met me when I arrived and provided good information to help my stay. Later, I appreciated that the house was so close to extensive walking/biking pathways, a close drive to University of Waterloo, and within walking distance (if one likes exercise) of grocery stores. The house, itself, was so much nicer than a hotel room. The assorted collection of teas, coffees, and spices, in addition to fresh milk in the refrigerator, plus a full complement of clean cutlery and dishes, offered convenience and contributed to my feeling welcomed. A variety of books, including one about T.E. Lawrence, and photographs from far-off places were fun discoveries. For my one-night stay, it was perfect.
I don't recall anything that I did not like. Since I was in the house alone, I can't comment on what it would be like with other guests. I am the sort that is tempted to sleep in a tent or vehicle while travelling; so for me, this was definitely a bit of a splurge. I made a good decision :)

The room is quite and clean.
Price is high for a shared home experience.

Superb cleaning. The house is beautiful and comfortable. Nice complementary snacks in the room and coffee/tea in the kitchen. we didn’t use the kitchen but it was immaculate and well equipped. The host is wonderful: very pleasant, welcoming and gave us good recommendations of local places to eat. very responsive to messages
not about the property but the booking process. I booked two rooms and got overwhelmed by the number of emails with instructions, conditions, confirmations, etc
I also understand the reason of asking for a $130 deposit for each room but it was something I didn’t deal with before and if I knew while scrolling properties, I would have passed (maybe I missed it in the portal but it it was not informed clearly until after sending the conditions of the reservation and received a lot of admin emails for only one night stay)

The house was very nice and homey! Everything was very comfortable. I usually have a hard time sleeping in new places but this was not an issue here. It was very relaxing. The owner is also very friendly and made sure that I was comfortable during my stay. The place is also close to the university which was convenient for me. I had a lovely time!

Recently renovated family house, only being use for airbnb. All materials felt fresh, good kitchenware. Good bathroom, although not well ventilated.
This family house is only useful for airbnb, which results in a special and optimal use of the house. Our room was near the kitchen and we were woken early by noise of other guests. The temperature was regulated centrally and we were overheated at night, windows could not be opened. Sleep was impaired by heat and noise.
