About this house rental
Loring View is a Luxury 3 bedroom property located in Salcombe and offers a superb base for any South Devon holiday. Recently refurbished to a very high standard and oozing coastal charm combined with comfortable furnishings, the property sleeps up to 6 and has standout features such as dual aspect log burner downstairs and free standing bath in the master bedroom. The property is pet friendly (subject to a fee) has one parking space on site and has fast wifi throughout. Enter from the side of the property into a hallway area with bench seating and plenty of space for shoes and hanging space for coats. Continue into the open plan kitchen/diner with the double height ceilings giving a huge sense of space. The kitchen is brand new and features a large American style fridge freezer, gas Hob, dishwasher and Soda Stream. There's space for 6 at the dining table as well as 2 bar stools for the Kitchen Island. A flash of exposed brickwork pays homage to the original building, blending the old with the new. There's a utility room off the kitchen with washing machine, dryer, microwave, ironing board and iron. The dining space is divided from the living area by a dual aspect wood burning stove (logs provided) that provides generous heat in the winter months. The living room has a smart TV and enough seating for all guests. Furthermore the ground floor has 2 bedrooms - One King size across from the living room and one twin with two singles at the back of the property, close enough but quiet for children and little ones. There's also a luxurious shower room between the two bedrooms. Head upstairs using the (steep & narrow) stairs from the dining area into the master suite. This room has a King size bed, ample storage for clothes as well as an en suite shower room. The star of the show is the freestanding bath that sits on the edge of the bedroom. Outside the property has an astro turfed garden with bench seating and enough space to store SUP's and beach gear (Outside). Recommended for: Loring View is perfect for families or 3 couples. Favourite feature: There’s so much to love about this property but the Wood burning stove and decor make this a special property. Need to know: The property is located next to a small but well stocked local Spar shop. Perfect for anything you need during your stay. The property has been nicely modernised with a high end kitchen and bathrooms and has a cute sun-trap garden. All three bedrooms are good size although the first floor master has low sloping ceilings which provided a nasty bump on the head on several occasions for two of us! A big plus was that there was always lots of hot water for showers plus there is a washing machine and tumble drier too. The parking space was welcome as parking in the road was far less easy than was implied when I enquired - lots of double yellow lines everywhere. With regard to location, the property is theoretically very close to the lovely centre of Salcombe but the steep walk back up to the house is very very challenging for those less fit or with a baby buggy! The only other thing I would mention is the clean before we arrived could have been better but overall we enjoyed our stay and would recommend - taking the above points into account.

We had a fantastic holiday in Salcombe. The property was very well appointed and spacious. We had 4 adults, 1 12 year old and 2 dogs and had plenty of space to relax and enjoy the house and garden. Everything was fresh and clean. The coastal decor was really lovely. The kitchen is very well equipped for family meals.
The only downside was the very steep walk back up the hill from Salcombe harbour. It’s a 10 minute walk.

Very easy booking procedure with straightforward procedure to enter property upon arrival. Lovely welcoming property done to a high standard. The important parts of the property bathrooms, bedding, utensils were all clean but there were areas that had obviously not been cleaned for a while/dusty/dirty/felt sticky (kitchen stools/lights above sink). The shower drains were not working well upon arrival and kept overflowing so we had to buy some drain unblocker, worked perfectly well after that though so not a big deal, but it was these little things that let it down.
Useful info was missing as to what day bin collections were so we missed these, also we could not get the heated towel rail to work in the upstairs bathroom so instructions on these would have been useful. Also recommendations on places to eat and some local knowledge on things to do would have been good.
We did enjoy our stay at Loring View, it’s in a good location although was a little noisy being right next door to the Spar (deliveries etc), also its location meant that there were some steep hills to walk up from the town centre back to the accommodation so those with mobility problems would need to bear that in mind. 😃

We had a great stay. Owners were kind enough to purchase a BBQ for our stay which was fanastic. Any matters that needed attending to were done so very quickly - as can happen from time to time, we had a problem with a bed- next day a new bed installed. Property is Next door to a Spar very convenient and Salcombe is a beautiful seaside village with plenty to do and see - Thank you will come again!😁

Clean, modern house in great location just a few small things to improve
Had a lovely holiday here. The house itself is brilliant - been finished to a very good standard with lovely decor and good quality linen and towels. Beds comfy. Love the open plan kitchen.
The photos did make it look like the garden was secure but unfortunately it wasnt - it was open to the road at the front being at the side of house not back. So it wasnt safe for our 2 year old unfortunately. We tried to block it off with the bench but did mean we couldnt fully relax when in the garden would be such an easy fix to have a high fence from the Bush to side of the house which would make it secure and also more private as people walking to the shop can see right in at you.
Also thought management wasnt great - lacked small detail like welcome pack usually we at least get a few bits like milk bread or cereal and biscuits to make you feel welcome. Nothing at all here. Not even milk which was a first having stayed at many places like this and also hosting our own. We also didnt find any owners welcome hand book to tell you about rubbish recycling how to use things and suggested trips and restaurants etc which we would also expect.
Easy things to fix and would just improve the experience.
House itself was lovely though.
