We very much enjoyed our time on Duck Key. The condo was great, and communication with the owner was quick. Duck key is a great home base to explore the keys.

The four of us enjoyed our stay and every thing was great

The unit is clean and in a great location
Please be aware that the pool shown on the site is not accessible by VRBO renters. Having been to Duck Key many times we were aware. It just seems they should mention that. Also the unit is small perfect for 2 or 3 people other units at Hawks Cay are much more spacious but for the price it worked for us. The property manager Frank was great

Right in the middle of the keys, made it easy to explore. The Property was clean and convenient. Communication was great. I have no complaints!

Overall it was decent place to stay in a fairly quiet location, beautiful view, and close to several beaches and good restaurants. However, the property could use some updating - a fresh coat of paint, a deep clean, broken blinds, kitchen cabinet door falling off… Also no hot pads or kitchen towels, not enough pillows, upstairs patio fan could use a light, and no laundry detergent available but asked that we start a load of towels before we checked out. Finally, be sure to remember your elected door code. We chose it months before our trip, and had no reminder or any type of check in instructions in anticipation of our arrival.

First, Frank was a great host. Very responsive when I reached out to him. The furniture in the townhouse was a little “tired” and with a slight investment the silverware and utensils could have helped provide a better dining experience. But it’s a rental so no big deal. The Hawks Cay people spent the better part of the week changing the access lock on the pool so it would be very difficult to access unless you have a wrist band from them. I guess these townhomes were previously owned by Hawks Cay? Im not sure. That said, we spent the better part of our time popping down to marathon because there were so many more activities, beaches, grocery stores, etc. down there. Overall it was a nice visit, the townhouse was comfortable for our needs and The Keys are a lovely place to visit.

We enjoyed our stay. Frank was very responsive throughout our stay. The house was clean and functional and right in front of the access to the pool. Very convenient location. We will definitely repeat

Summer 2022
We loved staying at the villa. It has been well kept and is cozy for up to 6 people. They should update their sofa bed and dishwasher has rust in it. I was able to communicate any concerns and did enjoy ourselves in our first vacation after Pandemic.

Quick Trip
We decided to take a quick motorcycle trip down to Key West and found this perfect place to stay along the way.

Great location. Quite and family friendly. Overall satisfied. Would recommend the property to others
Easy and trouble free process. As with all other VRBO properties that I’ve rented. If the property is clean, then a early check-in would be appreciated.

Duck key March 2022
Two most important things that need to be clarified is that the pool is NOT part of the rental. Also, the unit is NOT a 2 bedroom 2 bath. It's a 2 bedroom 1.5 bath. I was under the impression pool was included. Also thought it came with 2 full bathrooms.
Besides those two things the unit was fine. It was clean and their was plenty of room. Kitchen ha plenty of cookware and utensils. Came with soap, paper towels, shampoo and laundry soap. These things make it nice. The owner was very quick to respond to all my questions. Location is great. Pretty views and felt safe.

Disappointing
Overall, we would select a different place to stay because of:
Noise: the outside walls are paper-thin and you can hear everything outside. The pool is directly across the unit which makes it very loud.
The unit needs updating and inside is small/cramped - I would not recommend for more than a family of 4.
Cost - for the price, I would expect a more updated unit, with more supplies, specifically for cooking and in the kitchen.
Access to the pool is NOT INCLUDED, and the pool is directly (literally 15 feet) from the back deck. Although not advertised with a pool, it’s ridiculous that access is not included for VRBO guests, considering the proximity and cost of the rental. This was the most disappointing aspect. Sure, you could “sneak” in, but it’s uncomfortable and you’re clearly not supposed to. The unit is part of the Hawks Cay resort, but the resort does not allow VRBO guests access to resort amenities (even for an additional fee). The “beach” the owner mentions is not a beach. It’s a super small area of sand poured over grass and there is not a clear area to swim. No one was swimming, it’s not meant for swimming, and it does not make up for lack of pool access.
Cost: for the amount we paid for 5 nights, we were really disappointed. I wouldn’t choose this place again and if I did, I would go through the resort directly. Honestly, if the resort amenities aren’t included, it shouldn’t be allowed to be a VRBO rental.

Duck Key Disaster
I've stayed in other units in this condo complex 2 other times; both of the other units were much nicer. This unit was a bit dated, but that's not the issue.
The one bathroom was tiny and nearly impossible to stand behind the sink.
The 2nd bedroom was so small, the two twin beds actually partially blocked the doorway to the room.
There was a camera on the back porch pointed to watch us on the porch. Very unsettling.
We were using this property in late January and the weather turned very cold (50 degrees). We attempted to turn on the heat but it never came on. I texted the owner and he replied, "Sorry, no heat in those units."
NO HEAT??? Very surprised to hear this and really didn't like the lackluster response. We froze that night and made plans early the next morning to move to a hotel.
Later that morning... the owner texted, "I apologize for the mix up for some reason none of my units have the heat hooked up. I called the AC company and the guy is going to come over [later] and hook up the heat..." I'm not sure why he didn't say that the night before we couldn't sleep all night due to the cold. If this is how this owner treats their guests, beware!
We requested a refund of 1 night several times. The owner never even bothered to reply to my text.

Pleasant stay
Property is perfect for 2-3 people.
Needed some updating and a deep cleaning.
Being right outside pool area was convenient but noisy.
Had a problem with fire alarm beeping one night. Host responded immediately which was great.
