About this house rental
Bear Necessities is a four bedroom, 2 full-bathroom and 2 half-bathroom lake house on an amazing part of Lake Hartwell - located in a cozy neighborhood at the tip of the peninsula so, the water views are spectacular.
The house is set up on two levels, the main level has a kitchen that opens up to an open living and dining room area with sliding doors onto the rocking chair porch with great lake views and a gas grill.
The master bedroom is on the main level with an ensuite bathroom with a private sink & toilet. Bedroom #2 on the main has a king bed that can be converted to two twins upon request. This bedroom also has an ensuite bathroom with private sink & toilet. Both bathrooms also have doors that lead to a shared jack and jill shower room situated between the two bathrooms.
Downstairs has bedroom #3 with a queen bed. Just outside the door is a private half bath with a door that leads to another jack and jill tub and shower room. Bedroom #4 is a bunk room featuring two sets of bunk beds (4 beds total) - perfect for kids! This bedroom also has its' own bathroom with private sink & toilet that shares access to the jack & jill tub and shower room.
Downstairs also hosts a great rec/media room with a big screen tv, games table, dome hockey table, foosball table and sliding glass doors to the patio with a lake view. Play on the outdoor ping pong table, corn hole boards or roast marshmallows by the fire pit! (Note: The ping pong table is easily stored if you prefer to have more patio space.) This outdoor space also has great lake views.
We are just a 15 minutes drive to rent a boat and 1 mile away from the closest local boat ramp to launch your own watercraft. Tie up your boat at our dock! (*Please note our boat will be locked on the lift during most of the year so the covered slip is not available for use*). There are are two tie-ups on either side, electricity plug in and plenty of space to sun and lounge on the dock!.
If virtual working is part of your trip, Bear Necessities also hosts a 1 gig speed internet allowing for a work-hard/play-hard trip.
Clemson fans, come stay and play in between rooting on your Tigers at the football game in the fall! About a 45 min. drive to the stadium.

Amazing trip which is saying a lot since my husband and I had our two teen daughters and their two friends, The house was super clean, with a well stocked kitchen for all of our cooking needs, gorgeous sunset and sunrise views, and a responsive host for our questions. This home stands out from other rentals we’ve had in different places and I would highly recommend it.

The lake house had everything that we needed for our Friendsgiving Celebration. The lake was beautiful to wake up to in the morning and the fire pit was a great hangout spot. The kids loved the downstairs game room. Would definitely book again to try out in the Summer.

My family arrived at the property and it was beautiful. Very clean.The beachfront at the dock was key for my 2 grandchildren.
We did have a boat when we arrived. As we were backing up to go go to the dock it it is very narrow and we barely touched the neighbors driveway in which and alarm went off and the neighbor came out waving her hands upset.
Other than that we had a wonderful family vacation. Owners are responsive and great.
We definitely would go back.

We had a wonderful visit! The house is very organized, clean and has all the fun indoor supplies (games, foosball,ping pong) and outdoor supplies (dock, lake, kayaks and fire pit) for a fun and enjoyable family getaway for all ages! Thank you for sharing your lovely home!

Great place for a family of four plus enough room for some in-laws. House was well stocked with the essentials for cooking. House was clean upon arrival. Dock was in great shape and even able to tie up a pontoon. Only reason the location is 4 stars is because of the proximity to open water and high boat traffic over the holiday weekend which made for some good waves on the dock. Still, it provided great sunrise and sunset views. Owner communicated very well and was extremely timely, including when we needed some assistance. Overall great stay, great place, and great location. We'll likely be looking to book again.

Perfect location for a multi family get away! The house was fresh and clean upon arrival and well stocked with all the necessary things that a lot of places don't provide. I was floored that there was hand saop, paper towels, and 6 dishwasher pods to use! There was plenty of space for 2 families and a dog.
We enjoyed fishing off the dock with the kids and watching the sun set. The fire pit was great and we were lucky to have wonderful weather. The owner was wonderful to rent from and super responsive. I highly recommend renting this house!

My family and I loved our stay at the lake house! The house is clean, spacious, and well set up for families or couples. The property is amazing! An easy walk to the dock and beautiful lake view. We enjoyed the fire pit and relaxing on the porch. Can’t wait to come visit again!

Your search is over, book Jennifer’s house ASAP! Communication was super easy and quick and the place looks even better than it does in the pictures. Bear Necessities has everything you would possibly need for a nice getaway. The outdoor deck was all gated which was perfect for our pup to run around and explore, and not to mention the views from the rocking chairs! All of the dishwater and linens were top tier, like being in your own home. Jennifer’s place would be great for a few families, friends, or couples. We can’t wait to go back and enjoy the awesome dock and swimming platform in the Spring!

We have nothing but positive things to say! The home is very well maintained and they clearly attend to all the details of a house (great pillows, well stocked kitchen etc). The house was clean and homey. The hockey table and board games were great for the one rainy day. The communication with the host was fantastic.

Honestly, just the best family pre-Christmas family get away EVER! This beautiful lakehouse made us feel right at home. Hugs to the owners for sharing their home. Spotlessly clean....the house smelled soooo good...kitchen equipped with everything we needed to prepare our meals... comfortable beds, fresh linens, great view of the lake, great Wi-Fi! Cordial neighbors! We couldn't have asked for more. Our last evening sitting around the firepit, we all agreed that we will definitely rebook for our summer get-away♥

Bear Necessities was the perfect family getaway on Lake Hartwell. We had 8 in our party (4 adults and 4 kids) and never felt crowded. The house was immaculate, and the beds were very comfortable. Everything had a place, and I appreciate a well-organized home! The welcome binder was very helpful. The owners have also added personal touches throughout the house. Our family enjoyed the dock and the kayaks. The town of Hartwell is a true gem! We spent two days enjoying the shops and restaurants. I would highly recommend Bear Necessities!

This was beautiful. Super clean. It had everything we needed. We loved our lake view while rocking on the covered deck. We enjoyed the coziness of the yard lights while we relaxing around the firepit. The dock was great and the view was super. The host Jen was so helpful and gracious. This is a perfect place for a large family to vacation. Loved our time.

We rent a lake house every summer for a week and this was by far our favorite!! The host was great with communication and very accommodating to a last minute hiccup in our plans. The house is very spacious and super clean! The new outdoor shower was the best extra touch! Nice outdoor lighting and great swimming dock. I highly recommend this place! You will be missing out if you don't pick this one!

My husband and I rented the home for a wrap around long weekend with our fur kid. We had an amazing experience. The home location is great and very close to Harbor Light Marina where we also rented a pontoon boat. You will have everything you need to enjoy your stay. The home is very spacious and clean. Also, the neighborhood is very peaceful and quiet. The views are amazing. The owner was great to communicate with:) We would definitely recommend this Lakehouse. I've rented many properties on Lake Hartwell over the years, and this one is my favorite one so far. The indoor layout is perfect, the outdoor areas are exactly what you'll need, and everything is very clean, organized, and well maintained! Lake is a gentle slope and very close, dock and outdoor furniture are clean and high quality. There is nothing I would change about this place, we had a wonderful experience!

This home is decorated beautifully and well set up for renters. Owners have given lots of consideration to those renting their home, and it shows.

Fantastic experience!
We've rented a few lake houses on Lake Hartwell over the years and this one was our absolute favorite. The house was spotless, the owner was friendly and responsive, the neighbors were friendly... It was all good. We brought our own kayaks, and even though the water was cold, we were able to go out and paddle in the midday sun. We will def be going back!

Spring Fishing Trip
This house is perfect for your family vacation to lake Hartwell. Everything you need is here. Jennifer even ran electric to the boat dock just for us, thanks Jenn. 😊 It was nice to charge our boat batteries. Though getting a boat trailer parked in the drive is not for rookies. The neighbors let us back in their drive to turn the boats around to back into the drive. Will definitely come back. Thanks Jennifer
