In case you're new to the area here's a couple ideas for things to do around town:
Astoria Sunday Market (https://www.astoriasundaymarket.com/about): A combination of a farmer's and artist's market every Sunday downtown during the warmer months.
The Sea Crab House (https://theseacrabhouse.com): A local favorite for seafood.
Mo's (https://ilovemoschowder.com/mos-astoria): Another local favorite for seafood
Thai Me Up by Patta (https://www.thaimeuporder.com/): Good Thai food
Fort George Brewery (https://fortgeorgebrewery.com): Local brewery to unwind at after your northwest adventures, if you like IPAs try the Vortex.
Buoy Beer Company (https://www.buoybeer.com/): Another local brewery but this one is out on the pier.
The Astoria Column (https://astoriacolumn.org): For an incredible view stretching from Saddle Mountain to the Washington coast take some time to climb the column or hike to the area on one of the trails. FYI, a parking pass is $5.
Long Beach, WA (https://smalltownwashington.com/things-to-do-in-long-beach-wa/): Fly a kite, take a surfing lesson or just drive down the nearly 30 miles of beach until you find your perfect spot. This is roughly a 30 minute scenic drive from Astoria.
Bowpicker Fish & Chips (https://bowpicker.com/): I'm not a giant fan of fish & chips but I have friends who rave about this place.
Pelayo's Taqueria (https://www.facebook.com/taqueriapelayos/): A nearby taco truck with good food and good selection.
Hwy 101 (https://www.oregoncoasttravel.net/): The Oregon coast is very scenic all year long. Take a drive and explore some of our natural beauty and small coastal towns. A few places to check out are Seaside, Ecola State Park, Cannon Beach, Oswald West State Park (the short hike to Short Sand Beach is nice).
Jewell Meadows Wildlife Area (https://myodfw.com/jewell-meadows-wildlife-area-visitors-guide): This is a little out of the way but it's a scenic drive and you are pretty much guaranteed to see a large herd of elk beside the road if you arrive near sunrise or sunset in the cooler months.
Fort Stevens State Park (https://stateparks.oregon.gov/index.cfm?do=park.profile&parkId=129): Check out an old ship wreck and enjoy a view of the ocean.

We loved our stay in this tiny home! Perfect for just the two of us! Very private entryway and patio area, beautifully designed and all the necessary amenities. This was our first stay in the PNW and we loved it!

Lovely spot for one person. So nicely decorated and very comfortable. The owner was easy to contact and very cooperative. I have nothing but praise for this property.

Excellent quality, everything perfekt and clean, very good bed and very nice bathroom and super shower
Very noisy because it was very close to the highway, right next to condemnd houses and to strange club

Brian addressed a few needs promptly and to my satisfaction. I would recommend staying here!

We had excellent walking access to so much, plus we were close to the main road but far away we were not disturbed by traffic. The property was clean and new! Lovely and private. Perfect for a couple. The bed was very comfy. Would definitely come back and recommend to anyone for a wonderful couples getaway.

Well-designed small space; very clean and comfortable. Waterfront trail and trolley is a short walk.

Husband & I thought this stay was adorable and centrally located. Only complaint is there wasn’t anywhere to hang our clothes or unpack so we had to get creative to avoid wrinkles. Also, we were woken in the middle of the night to a few intoxicated patrons from the nearby business.

This place was minutes away from the goonies house, flavel house, heritage museum, and the Oregon film museum. Not to mention, pig’n pancake!! The beach is also close enough to the point where you can hear seals on shore. Seaside is also 30 minutes away on car. The fire/police station is right across the street which made me feel super safe too. I highly recommend staying at this place because of its French ambiance, and the comfort it provided after a long day out.

This place was a fabulous retreat for 2. The tiny cabin sandwiched between a few small businesses is hidden from view. A small door opens to a plant-filled entry/corridor and small private deck of the cottage. The design of the remodeled space is tasteful with personal touches throughout. Brian is to be congratulated for turning this forgotten space on the eastside of Astoria into a comfortable retreat within a few blocks of the riverwalk and easy access to town. We appreciate the fact that the space is comfortable but true to the character of old Astoria. There is a bit of traffic noise from the nearby thoroughfare into town, but it is muffled by the closed corridor and surrounding buildings and was no problem for us. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Exactly as advertised! We will be coming back. Location on the edge of the downtown within walking distance to everything. Had a lovely 7 mile loop walk from the lodging taking in the cathedral tree, the column, and historic district. This place is as charming as you might hope it to be. And super easy check in I am sure if we needed anything the owner would be very responsive but as it was we needed nothing!

This was a great little place to crash after a day of touring the Oregon coast. Clean and cozy.

This property was exactly what we pictured and needed for our stay. Enjoyed the location and ease of getting to/from. There is a local bar nearby and did experience some noise but was not bothersome. We will consider booking again when we travel to Astoria in the future.

It was the perfect spot to recover each day after our activities. Wonderfully cozy, with nice amenities.

I lived in Astoria for several years and came back to visit friends. I ran across this VRBO, read great reviews, and booked it. The rental is beautifully done! The bed is super comfy and cozy, nice little kitchen stocked with coffee, fantastic bathroom with usual amenities. Both patios are very relaxing. Worth every…single…penny!

I have to admit, driving by the property we weren't sure what we were in store for but it turned out to be an amazing place! Super cuit, very clean and close to everything. Huge bathroom and just enough kitchen for what we needed. It's actually very quiet even being just off the main drag. As I mentioned above, we loved this place!

Really cool and adventurous little place. Getting to the property was a bit of a hassle (the hair salon mentioned was actually an unmarked building when we were there), and parking was a little ambiguous because the parking spot isn't marked, which isn't the fault of the property owner. Instructions for parking could have been a little more clear, but other than everything was great! The owner was super accommodating, and he was really good about communicating with us. He even shipped me an item I accidentally left behind.

It was cozy and nicely kept up. The bathroom and shower area was exceptional and luxurious. It's walkable to town, which we liked, but it's a bit of a hike (20-25ish mins on foot, each way).
The only downside we didn't foresee was it's proximity to the main road, which made it quite noisy during all daytime hours.
The host was super communicative and clearly takes good care of this space. The bedding and mattress were some of the best I've experienced in a rental!

This property was perfect for my partner and I's weekend getaway. It was nice for being out and about all day and having a comfortable place to rest. We liked the little bit of privacy being tucked away. It was very clean and the host is easy to reach and very kind. Our only complaint is that the curtain on the door is a bit thin so the automatic light by the door would wake us at times when the wind would move the plants around it. But overall we had a great time!

Very small but had everything we needed. Not right in the downtown area but fairly convenient. Definitely need a car. Nice outdoor space if the weather is good. We liked it.

Very cute, clean place. It is also close to most of the things we had planned for our visit (museums, parks, etc.). Thoughtful touches like coffee, water, popcorn. Lots of extra towels if needed

Cute little studio tucked in a quiet spot behind businesses. The very comfortable bed, roomy modern bathroom, and handy kitchenette were all appreciated.

We went to Astoria for a weekend trip to get out of the city and loved our experience at La Cabane Noire. The patio is beautiful, the location is quiet and secluded, though it is a little drive or long walk into town, which we were fine with. The parking situation was a little weird but not unmanageable. Thanks Brian for the great space and lovely amenities.

Great stay and would stay again! Loved the private walkway and large bathroom and shower. Couple things that could have improved the experience would have been to include a map or picture of the parking lot for the parking tag. There weren’t any cars there when we parked so it was unclear which lot was appropriate. Also it says there’s a toaster but there is none so sadly we had untoasted bagels for breakfast.

Tiny little studio is beautifully decorated. The space is very efficient, with ⅓ bed, ⅓ bathroom and ⅓ bar/kitchenette. Small issue discovered on check in was dealt with immediately by property owner.
We were in town for a show at the local theatre and had a lovely visit.
My only suggestion is to add an extended hook in the bathroom for full length hanging capabilities.
Tiny issue

tiny house big on style and warmth. so much packed into a small space made the ideal cozy haven (with a hint of romanticism). the outdoor space leading to the living space is a small oasis within itself. the tiny home is ideally located; nice walk to downtown.
just a word about Brain. when i informed him that the coffee maker was not working, he secured a gift card at a downtown coffee house within minutes. the sweetest gesture.
would definitely stay here again.

Over all, we enjoyed our stay. The place is very clean and comfortable. My only very minor issue I would mention, is there aren’t any windows you can open. I like to sleep with a window open at night, and besides the front door and the French doors, there is nothing to leave open. Something you might want to know. I adjusted. It really is a cute place, and probably even better in the warmer months when you can utilize the outdoor seating.

Had a short weekend trip to Astoria for some antique shopping and stayed here. A very cute little place tucked back behind businesses with ample privacy and easy access to downtown. Very cozy, and adorable interior. Will definitely book again next time we are staying in Astoria :)

My husband and I stayed here for four nights and it was a perfect home base. Beautiful, flat walk into town. It’s next to the Highway but is well sheltered from the sound of traffic. we loved the kitchenette, bathroom, and the very comfy bed. We would happily stay again, thanks!

This tiny house is exactly as described and depicted and we throughly enjoyed our 3 night stay. Here are the things that impressed me. The decor is so attractive: the soft silhouette of tall pines on the accent wall is a lovely reminder of the surroundings in the Pacific NW; the color scheme in the main room is soft and relaxing (I love the corner details on the crown molding). Although it is indeed a tiny house, we were very comfortable and found it easy enough to live out of our suitcases, one on the chaise in the main living area and one tucked just inside the bathroom on the luggage rack. The few things that needed hanging fit nicely inside the tiny closet and on one of the nobs by the entry door. The bathroom is spacious and offered plenty of spots to put your Dopp kit/toiletry bag and hang up damp towels. And as others have commented, the shower is great - it’s spacious, shiny clean and so pretty - I loved the blue tile walls and grey tile floor - so nicely decorated! The towels provided are nice too - fluffy, clean and in good repair. We would love to stay at La Cabane Noire again if our travels lead us to Astoria.

This was the perfect little place to stay in Astoria. It wasn't right in the downtown area, but was a very short drive- or you could probably walk it also. It was very clean, everything worked as it should, bed was comfortable! Great place to stay as a couple.

Charming appointed boutique studio with comfortable amenities, private outdoor courtyard; beautifully decorated, with exquisite customized details (corbels, courtyard decor, lots of plants, private seating, easy to access; with wonderful courtyard entry, beautifully decorated and very welcoming! The Red Door is a beautiful touch, making finding the VRBO easy to find. Recommend the following quick fixes to make it perfection. Add a Toaster, Toilet brush, Paper Towels. Bar top needs to be secured to the wall; very wobbly and with time will fully dislocate from the wall / attached cabinetry. We ended up parking along the street as the Firestation Museum had cars parked sideways across the parking spots, and didn't feel appear we should park there. Otherwise, a perfect, cozy place to stay. Thank You!

Overall great place. Can't beat the location, close to everything and safe. It is super clean, well equipped, bed is super comfortable, neighbors (business's) are very nice. This Tiny House is TINY! The bathroom is half the size of the house, it's huge. The neighbors that share a common patio space smoke cigarettes and it is close enough to your space to smell. Overall a fantastic option. The host is top notch.

Lovely leafy approach to a tiny apartment passing lots of plants and a fountain. Exterior charming, little cobwebs but otherwise nice. Interior very lovely, compact, nice little kitchen with microwave and tiny fridge, so no cooking. Roomy updated bathroom with excellent shower. Further east end of town, short walk to Safeway.
