We had another vacation for the books! Had a great time with family. Justin was very quick to respond to any needs. Some improvements from last year which was great. Dock still a little challenging. Downstairs mattresses could use an upgrade. Overall the location and space of the home is perfect! We really enjoyed vacation 2024 and hope to plan another for 2025!

We have an annual trip every year to play golf. Always looking for a place to stay and this year we decided on river front retreat. It definitely served our purpose. 8 guys no women. Everything was as advertised and we enjoyed our weekend.

We really liked the property and the house was cool. We didn’t mind that it was older or may needs some updates, or even the spider webs (it’s expected in this environment) but it wasn’t very clean. We found old water bottles around the house, dirty wash clothes in the bathrooms, bathtubs were dirty, dirty linens, and other random trash. Not sure if the cleaning service isn’t taking care of things or that’s how it is. I did contact the owner to let them know but never heard back.

It was just right for what we needed. However, one of us left an aero-bed blow up mattress in the lower level by the ping pong table. Is it possible if we can swing by and get it in a few weeks. One of the guys will be in the area. Please let me know. Thank you very much for allowing us to use your rental location. It was a great time.

The house is great and is in a great location, but needs a little attention / updating. Besides our challenges we made the best of it and had a great time. The manager was very responsive and accommodating.

This is the 2nd year we have stayed here for HOA. The house is old but has a story and i like that. There is plenty of room for the whole group to have our own space. The kitchen has everything we needed to cook our own meals. The view of the river is nice. We love the driveway to the house. Its filled with cows and lots of wildlife. Never know what you will see. Town isnt to far away. Overall this is a nice place to stay for our little get away. We enjoyed it.
On the downside like last year the tub in the upstairs master bath does not drain properly so your standing in ankle deep water as you shower. The 2nd bedroom down the hall had an infestation of bugs on the window that somehow found their way into the room. Again like last time the grill was filthy so my husband spent time cleaning it so the next people can enjoy it on the deck. There was also a cast iron skillet that wasnt properly cleaned so we had to work on that to be able to enjoy our eggs.

Beautiful view of water. Felt secluded from neighbors which we enjoyed. Plenty of rooms and space for family. Loved large kitchen and blackstone. Justin was responsive to concerns/questions. Negatives: old AC units/musty, both showers upstairs had trouble draining, coffee pot very slow. House definitely could use some updates but being right on the river and the views definitely outweighed any negatives.

We enjoyed our stay at this property. It was exactly what we were looking for for a peaceful weekend getaway.

Well stocked pantry, lots of toys for the river available for use. The river was a big low so the water wasn't moving much. Bathrooms were upgraded recently and clean. Some of the beds could use new mattresses. The firepit was excellent and firewood was available for use. The kitchen had all kinds of gadgets and serving ware. Had wifi and cell service. Beautiful hardwood floors upstairs. We met the manager while he was getting an estimate to redo the dock and clear out the view to the river, would like to see the transformation when it is complete.

The house is as described. The kitchen is stocked very well. Lots of towels and bed linens. The upstairs rooms have window unit air conditioners, which worked very well. The basement rooms don't have air conditioners, but it was cool down there since it's a basement, and there were plenty of fans. Plenty of life vests, inner tubes, and floating mats. There is a neighborhood boat ramp down the street where we put the kayaks in the river. However, the ramp has a chain with a lock, so a boat can't be entered there. We liked that there is a gate at the top of the steps inside the house and outside on the decks. The boat dock is not level and very warped on the one side. Also, be aware that there is poison ivy everywhere there isn't grass, even creeping onto the steps going down to the dock.
Overall, we enjoyed our stay here. We had pretty much everything we needed. We had fun playing ping pong, kayaking, fishing, and just relaxing.

Wonderful river house with plenty of room for everyone in your group. Loved the kitchen! Even the knives were sharp! Well thought out amenities with ping pong, lots of games, boats and lifejackets of all sizes, including for pooch. Great host who was very responsive to our questions. Would definitely stay again!

We enjoyed our stay at the river house. We were pleasantly surprised by all the cookware, kitchen gadgets and well stocked "pantry". We enjoyed the fire pit in the evenings and spent a relaxing Sunday watching the Indy 500 and painting porch leaners on the back deck. Was a nice relaxing weekend.

We used the house as a base for a long weekend of golfing, and with its location on the river it was great for our group of guys! Wish we would have planned for more time on the deck and utilizing the river! Great bunkhouse/summer camp feel, and perfect for large groups, can't wait to return with the kids and family!

This charming old home was a perfect setting for our long-planned Thanksgiving weekend. Family had plenty of room to cook, eat, play, chat and exchange hugs. Two giant dining tables and plenty of chairs. Appreciated two refrigerators. Everyone had a comfortable and private sleeping room.
Everything we could have wanted was made available. Lots of dishes, glasses, cups, utensils. Games and cards. Extra blankets and shawls. All the lights worked. Appreciated light in hallway. The home was clean and nicely decorated. Temperature was comfortable. River access a walk away. River view awesome.
Although the dirt road entrance was nearly 3 miles long, there were services just beyond.
If I could rate this destination at more than perfect, I would.

We had a family reunion here for we were all attending a wedding close by and had a wonderful time. The lake is just beautiful!

Everything was just as expected from what we saw of the listing photos. It gave us plenty of room for quiet reading by the fireplace or playing games around the table. The beds could use new mattresses or toppers for better sleeping. The three mile long dirt road was interesting with cattle and wild life. We may be back next year!

We had a great time. Kitchen was large enough for large crowd meal prep and serving. Could use more plates, though.
Family played ping pong. Went tubing and kayaking. Having a second refrigerator for drinks while gathering on the deck and patio was very convenient.
Everyone was very happy with this vbro

Wonderful location!
We loved being right on the river. We loved that we were close to town but you could not tell. It was quiet and peaceful. The owner did have all of the items to have fun on the river. There was plenty of space for us all and there were so many activities to do in the area. We would definitely go back. Only downside was the living room furniture was not as comfortable as we would have liked. But we knew that beforehand because of the pictures.

Week of celebrations
We had a wonderful week at the river house. We came for our oldest child's high school graduation and celebrated three family birthdays and fathers day morning at the house. We had family come from PA and AZ to stay with us. The house was roomy and had all the things we needed for a comfortable stay. We really enjoyed the kayaks, fishing and grilling on the griddle. Great location for large families!

Great River Property
Clean property with plenty of beds. We booked for 8 bridesmaids and they had plenty of space and a lot of fun on the River!

Great for playing on the river.
We came for our son's wedding and had other family members join us there. The number of rooms gave us several options for sleeping arrangements. The owners were quick to respond to questions except that we couldn't get the exact address until about a week before our stay, so instead of the 20 minute drive we thought we were going to have to the wedding, it ended up closer to a 30 minute drive. Unfortunately, we didn't have time to play on the river, but this is a perfect getaway for that and I would consider it again for that purpose. The comforter in my room and the extra blanket both looked dirty, like something had been spilled on them. We could only find 3 washcloths for showers, and towels were in poor condition; they really need to invest in enough new towel sets to accommodate all their guests. Overall, I would consider it again.

Shenandoah Serenity
We enjoyed our stay at this rustic location right on the Shenandoah River. Our party of 7 ranged in age from 25 to 80 and all had a great time hiking, driving Skyline Drive, and enjoying the fire pit and the river. The owner was very accommodating and responsive. If I had any constructive criticism, it would be the neatness of the outside area - the grass was a little tall in places and there were lots of yard equipment and gear on a concrete pad out back. Had we had children, it might have been a concern.

Spacious riverfront home with great outdoor spaces!
Older, family river home with views that can’t be beat. There are lovely decks and porches to enjoy all the beautiful Shenandoah has to offer. There’s plenty of space/bedrooms for large families. It could have been a little cleaner and there were bugs.. even in December. But the good far out way the negatives. Would definitely stay again!

A nice Thanksgiving stay
This was a comfortable and relaxing property. Very quiet. The bathrooms have been remodeled. The rest of the house has an older decor, but that was ok with us and our dogs. The kitchen can seat 16. There were lots of family pictures in the home and we liked that. Given our Thanksgiving stay, we did not go in the river but that is a great warmer weather benefit. Close to lots of other outdoor activities if you want them.

Great Experience
This was a great place for our family. It was affordable and the location was great. It was a very short drive to the town of Front Royal and Skyline Drive. The view of the river off of the private deck was beautiful. Even when I was inside making meals for my family I could look out the large picture windows in the kitchen/dining room. It is a big space - a lot of bedrooms, bathrooms, and living space - we never felt cramped. It was a bit dusty, but the bathrooms and beds were clean. There were a lot of bugs, but they were not harmful, mostly box elder bugs and stink bugs. The kitchen was a bit primitive, and hard to use. The outdoor space was great. The deck was so nice, the enclosed porch was a plus. There was plenty of seating. Overall, we were happy with our stay. It was a nice getaway spot.

Perfect Family "Glamping" Trip
It's a beautiful location and a charming home. We had a great time fishing from the dock and visiting the attractions in the area. The home is well stocked and Brian was wonderful to work with!
