About this house rental
Brownies Beach House is situated on a quiet avenue on a large sheltered block (3,500 sqm). With a large deck & open plan living it is the perfect place to retire to after a long day experiencing all the wonders of Fraser Island.
You can spend your days driving some of the best beaches Australia has to offer with an endless supply of ideal fishing locations, fresh water creeks and magestical scenery that takes your breath away.
This house has just undergone renovations with new owners Cliff and Brie. With new internal and external paint completed, new floorings, power upgrade and much more to come in the near future.
This well appointed house caters for all your holiday needs. Brownies Beach House comes with a fully equiped kitchen, 4 spacious bedrooms with built ins, 1 bathroom and 2 toilets.
Two of the bedrooms have queen beds, one has two sets of single bunks, and the other has one bunk set and a single bed. This is a total of 9 beds (sleeps eleven). No bed linen or towels are supplied throughout your stay.
Two BBQ’s are supplied to cook your favourite holiday food on the veranda, or you can use the 4 burner gas stove or oven. There is a large fridge inside, with a deep freezer for your use.
A fishing table and water is available at the front of the property for filleting your holiday catch. The block features large grounds, easy access and ample parking for large groups and those with boats. We also provide 24hr power for free.
For those who enjoy the feeling of camping we have a fire ring to sit around on those cooler nights.
Any enquires please contact Cliff or Brie regarding the house, the amenities surrounding or any locations to visit. Both have been coming up to the island for many years, with Brie a former local to the area.
What do I need to bring?
You will need to bring your own personal items such as clothing, shampoo, conditioner, soap, toothpaste, sunscreen, toilet paper, etc. Make sure you bring ALL your food and drinks (that includes the morning coffee), depending on the season, the local shop may not have backups of what you need and you won't want to be left short if you can avoid it.
Don't forget your bath and beach towels, first aid supplies, medication, dishwashing liquid and cloths, washing powder/liquid, paper towels, tissues and other cleaning products. We'd love to be able to supply these items but unfortunately due to the fact we're based off the island we are unable to keep track of the inventory of these items and we would hate for anyone to expect these items only for them to have run out without our knowledge

Property was as described however there was no BBQ (as listed) to cook on which made cooking of our food we had prepared for difficult. Hot water on demand was great.

We loved our stay at Brownie’s Beach House. Two families with 6 teenage children, it was very comfortable & had everything we needed. We enjoyed the outdoor deck & BBQ area. Very convenient location, close to all our favorite Fraser Island spots.

The house itself is in a good location but on the whole that street is down low so there isn't much of a breeze, there are ceiling fans in 2 rooms but only 1 worked properly, the third room had a great wall fan but the 4th room that can accommodate 4 had nothing. It was extremely hot in there at night. We were unaware of another holiday house at the front of the property. They were very noisy at times.
The condition of the house needs a lot of work, it was very dirty, had holes in alot of the fly screens which we had to cover with tape to have windows open. There are baby cockroaches in the kitchen cupboards with no fly spray to kill them. We were not told about bringing our own everything as well as toilet paper. We were 7 people and they only supplied 1 roll of paper. No mention of this on the website. The 2 bbqs weren't clean, the floors and the lounge had sand on them on arrival, the supplied mop and dustpan were in a terrible state we couldnt use them. Only 1 small dishcloth and 1 tea towel supplied.
The owner has just changed cleaners and we did meet the new lady, she was lovely but she really has a lot of work to do and not much. time between bookings to get it all done. The washing machine is on a timer and the available time is ridiculous in a place that is tide dependant. 11am is not great.
We love the island but will do a lot more research on accommodation next time.

House was well set out for a group of 10 , however very disappointed with the condition of the property. All fly screens had holes that we needed to duct tape up, we had blow flies everywhere which resulted in maggots all in the kitchen bin . Ceiling fans did not work appropriately to circulate air, no breeze or airflow throughout the entire house , house was uncomfortably hot and septic tank must have been full as every time someone showered the stench was unbearable , vacuum provided did not work and bathroom was not clean . Overall extremely disappointed.

Orchid beach is a great spot, house was big enough for 2 families with 2 rooms at either end. Great to have 2 toilets. Lots of room inside and out for families to sit and eat together. Easy to find key and check in.

Communication with owner was excellent. And all issues reported were rectified quickly.
There was plenty of room for us all and we had a comfortable stay. Plenty of cleaning products supplied.
The house just needs some maintenance and TLC. Some fans don’t work and there’s holes in screens.

Stayed here with a group of mates while Tailor fishing.
Loved the 2 bbqs and the huge dining table.
Huge chest freezer for fisho’s and really comfortable place to relax.
As a bonus, it’s not out the front and for the week we were the it was blowing a gale, but Brownies was tucked away out of the wind and so was lovely.
Will be booking here for next year if available.

good sized house to fit 2 families. great location and Clifford was a great host.

Was a great stay, overall cleanliness was a little off. Was pleasantly surprised to find a gate on the stairs and to not have to worry about my toddler falling down them.
The washing machine was a little inconvenient as it says it can only be used between the hours of 11am and 1:30pm which your generally not at the house at that time as your out exploring the island
The fire pit was great and everything in the house worked as it should. Would recommend to bring a power board as there are minimal power points in the house which makes it hard for everyone to charge there devices
Overall it was great and would definitely stay again!

Nice simple property that you can use as a base on your Fraser Island adventures. There was an issue with the cleaner before we arrived which resulted in us having to do a basic clean before we could settle in. We were advised on two occasions during the week that a cleaner would attend but they never did.
Some furniture needs to be upgraded.
Owners were good to communicate with.

Great place and cheap with a superb location
House was a bit sandy but suspect that was from previous tennants. Nothing a 10min sweep couldn’t fix.
Spoke with owner a top bloke 👍

The property is in a great location. However, cleanliness of the property needs to be better and notification that toilet paper and towels are not included in the stay and you must bring these items yourself.

Brownies Beach House
When we arrived to the house we were happy with the location and layout of the house, however the house itself wasn't very clean (maybe from the previous holiday makers?) That was not the major issue for us however. We were told once we arrived that the home was reliant on solar panels for power and we couldn't plug in any appliances except for our mobile phone charges. The first two days and nights it rained and we were left with no power on the second night. We called Cliff who gave us instructions on how to start up the back up generator however there were some major issues with it and a couple of locals were called to come and fix it but to no avail. We had two families including young children and a baby and were not able to have hot showers or cook dinner as there were no lights due to no power. Fortunately another island holiday home owner offered his property which was available for the rest of our stay and we packed up and moved so that we could enjoy the rest of our holiday. Sadly we won't be staying back at Brownies Beach House again.

Good value hut for Fantastic Fraser
Property is as described, a few bugs but that’s to be expected in a bushland setting. House has everything you need, great fridge/freezer space and well-equipped kitchen but let’s face it, you don’t go to Fraser to stay indoors so it is a good value option to come back to after an amazing day outdoors. Comfortably fit 2 families and we all had a ball.

Awesome
Great little shack perfect for families. Cliff was nothing short of exceptional to deal with. Fully kitted out with every possible utensil, pot or pan you could ever need. Just bring food and clothes and enjoy the island! No hesitation to recommend brownys beach house or stay again! See you again soon I hope 👌🏼

Great spot
The house is as described, a few issues with cleanliness but spoke with the owner about that, couldn’t be helped. Great location, everything required for the stay was there, just a pity other guests in the area had no respect for others.

Brownies Beach House
Very good value for money for a short family holiday, had a great stay and was happy with everything in the house. Had some issues with the power on the 4th night and Clifford was very quick to respond and the cleaner was able to get the generator working for us quickly.
Other than that it was a great stay, good location, nice house layout.
