Three generations had a wonderful time both on and off the water. The kayaks made it nice to explore the lily pads.

We enjoyed many aspects of the property during our stay, but we did encounter a few issues that could be improved for future guests. We found bugs and cobwebs in the corners of several rooms, closets, and behind doors. Additionally, please update the boat dock pictures, as they currently show functional boat lifts, which were either broken or missing during our visit.

Really enjoyed our stay. Lake and dock were amazing. Kitchen was very well stocked. Nice to have 2 refrigerators since we were cooking for the week. We would definitely stay here again.

This home was just about perfect for our family’s needs, with 7 bedrooms to accommodate our large group and a gorgeous yard and dock space for our outdoor relaxing and activities. The only thing we would have liked was an indoor dining space for everyone, there are only bar stools inside for eating, otherwise all dining is outside. Thankfully, we had beautiful weather!

We gathered at the lake to celebrate the life of our Mother. A great place to be with family.

The dock is amazing...had a great time hanging out at the water. The house itself had all amenities multiple families could need.

We are an extended family of 13 adults, some of us who had not seen each other in over 40 years. We were looking for a place where we could relax and have gathering areas where we could chat and reconnect. This house was perfect. It had plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms where we each had our own personal spaces but plenty of indoor and outdoor spaces that comfortably fit all of us for meals and chatting. Everything was very clean, nicely decorated, and both kitchens were well appointed. There were several coffee pots for a large group. The dock had a perfect area with lots of seating where we could enjoy being next to the water. Some in our group used the paddle boards and kayaks. Tammy, the property manager, kept me well informed and gave me contact info if I needed it. The check in was easy and check out duties were quick and easy too. Overall, it was the perfect place and I would definitely stay there again.

Great location, spacious dock, severely lacked basic cleanliness. There were 2 decomposing mice in sticky traps in the half bath off kitchen when we arrived.Inside & outside of kitchen cabinets were filthy. There were no empty cabinets in the kitchen to store food, There was a cabinet across from the toilet in the adjoining half bath. Given the mouse droppings &dead mice we kept our food on the counters in boxes. The toaster was stored on an open cart in the half bath, across from the toilet.
The floors, corners & door tracks were extremely dirty and with an excess of dead bugs. An orange sticky substance had been spilled in several places on the staircase and not cleaned.
Air vents were very dusty & blackish in color. The vent in the downstairs bathroom had paint bubbled around it &dripped water occasionally onto your head. Inside the toilets were black from day 1. Mold? Shower curtains were covered in soap scum & mold. 3 of our family members developed respiratory issues the first day that disappeared when we left.
We contacted the owner when we arrived. Very apologetic, &said the toilets do that and that she had an exterminator in before we came which explained the dead bugs. Not sure what her expectation was for us to do about the decomposing mice. We disposed of them.
Reached out to the owner at the end of visit requested partial refund of ancillary fees. Owner apologetic but declined any refunds, clearly not interested in compensating us. Won’t rent again.

Our family just got back from a fantastic week at Lake Gaston. This property worked perfectly for our group of 12 (which included 3 generations of family). The two kitchens were clutch, amazing location, lovely dock, great bedroom options … it was 5 stars all around. Tammy was also highly responsive and helpful. We’d love to re-book for future LGK vacations!

Our 3 generation family found this house absolutely fantastic! 5 stars hands down with cleanliness upon arrival, fully stocked kitchens, comfortable beds, and for sure one of the best docks around Lake Gaston! (boat space and jet ski lifts provided) Nice community and located near restaurants and grocery store. Can't say enough about our host Tammy. She was so helpful with any questions we had before going, during and after our stay. Highly recommend this home at Lake Gaston. Susan H

We enjoyed our stay and would rent this home again. The dock is a highlight! It was clean with plenty of room for a boat, jet ski, paddle boards, kyaks...all the toys, along with a huge wonderful swing. The dock offers significant shade and sunny areas along with a nice step-down, making it very easy to launch paddle boards, kyaks, etc. We enjoyed the sunsets from both the dock and lower and upper porches. The dual kitchens we're ideal for a large group, and both are fully stocked with everything needed. If you enjoy fireworks, this was an ideal stay for the 4th of July; we had a perfect view of them from the dock/ porches.

My group of several families had a wonderful stay over Memorial Day weekend. The house is well appointed, roomy and comfortable. The dock, paddle boards and kayaks were great to have on hand and used a lot by our group. The outdoor seating options were perfect. Overall highly recommend!

We had an enjoyable stay with family in this scenic and relaxing environment. The owners were responsive from the initial reservation to the departure. Pictures and description adequately represented what we saw in person. The elders of the group were thoroughly pleased, the males stayed up playing pool and everyone enjoyed the relaxing setting.

This place was amazing! A group of 12 of us stayed for a long weekend to celebrate my 40th birthday. The size of the house was perfect for our group and the location was great. We rented a pontoon boat and jet ski, and the house came with paddle boards and kayaks. The only time we left the house was from the house's boat dock to venture out on the lake. We made memories that will be cherished forever. The owners were super responsive and helpful in answering any and all questions we had about our stay! I would highly recommend this property!

Absolutely fabulous home and Great Lake property! The house was perfectly clean when we arrived and the house is just as pictured. The dock is huge and provided hours of fun for all three families worth of kids to jump off into the water, paddle board and kayak! We would stay again in a heartbeat!

The layout of the house was perfect for my family (with kids downstairs) and Grandma, Grandpa, and Aunt upstairs. I loved having all the refrigerator space. And the dock is great. It would certainly be on the short list of return to properties.
4.0 / 5.0
The house was beautiful and furnished nicely. There was more than enough room for the 13 of us. Perfectly located on the Lake convenient to Marina to rent boat or do dinner. My only complaint would be that it did not appear to be cleaned at all. Dirty dishes in the cupboards, debris on counters and in refrigerator and toilets. Otherwise we had a blast. Communication with owners was great as well.
4.0 / 5.0
I’ll start with the good. The location of this house on an open, fairly quiet cove was ideal. The dock and water around the dock were really enjoyable. The bedroom/bathroom situation was perfect for our multi-generational family. The house is nicely decorated.
There are improvements that need to be made. The house was pretty dirty. After walking around while unpacking the bottoms of my feet were black. The carpet needs a good shampoo. We contacted the hosts and they were apologetic and offered to clean it but didn’t get very far. The appliances are old and the dishwashers seem to be on their last legs. The biggest drawback for us and along with cleanliness, the reason we would not rent again, is the lack of an area for a family to enjoy a meal or game time together. It was hot and stormy during our stay so eating at the outdoor tables was never an option and that was problematic.

Nice summer rental
Very accommodating house. Not a lot of common space for capacity crowd. Two kitchens with ice makers in fridges is nice. Excellent dock with full fridge as well. Great central location on lake. Can start skiing and tubing right away.

Family vacation 2022
Property was very nice. Outside sitting areas were amazing and plentiful. I can’t say enough about the dock area! Spent most of our time there together as a family!! Wonderful! The pictures of the house made the rooms look much larger than they actually were. Only suggestions would be is that the mattress pads were stained and looked dirty (needed to be replaced), and cleaning crew didn’t do a great job at cleaning. Would love to visit again.

Comfortable, stocked and amazing dock!
This property was wonderful for our group of 10! Communication with the management was quick and easy. Beds were plentiful and comfortable and the dock was amazing. The kitchens were stocked with all the gadgets we needed to cook and the dock toys (paddle boards and kayaks and awesome swing) were a hit! We would highly recommend this property and will be back.

Great house with Wonderful Dock!
We had a group of 12 adults stay for a getaway weekend. It’s hard to find a house that would fit 6 couples and this house does that. The bedrooms were decently comfortable. The house was pretty clean, but the inside of cabinets and drawers needed a good cleaning. The best part about this house was the dock. Extremely comfortable with ample seating that’s both shaded and in the sun. The large porch swing on the dock was an added bonus. We loved using the SUPs and even went swimming off the graduated steps into the water from the deck of the dock. Our only word of notice for potential renters is there is NO dining room. If I had brought children, this would have been a disaster. With adults, we made it work as there were 5 seats at the counter, a table of 6 on the porch, and couches on the porch. But it rained nearly all weekend which rendered the porches unusable and made eating inside for 12 very difficult. (There is a second kitchen downstairs with three seats at the counter, but this split up the group when we wanted to eat together.) We also enjoy “family” dinner and game nights and there wasn’t a table to be able for us to all sit around and play games. My suggestion would be to put two tables on the covered porch so it could seat 12 and move the porch couches elsewhere. Otherwise, we enjoyed our time very much!

Great option for large family get togethers
Most of the bedrooms connected to a smaller room which made set up nice for those of us with smaller children. Likewise, there's a kitchen on each floor so no need to run up and downstairs for various things.

Huge fees that are way too steep for what you get
We arrived to find only two rolls of toilet paper for five bathrooms, and none in stock so we had to take an immediate trip to the store 15 min away. They had a dirty oven that smoked the whole upstairs when preheated, there were many dirty dishes in the cabinets all despite the steep cleaning fee we paid. The TV downstairs wouldn’t work no matter which remote we tried and even when we checked batteries. We all know that the convenience of a designated “kids” TV is very important. (No help from the owner other than suggestions we already tired.) Some rooms appeared very dark because the ceiling light bulbs were blown out. There were only two washrags and two hand towels in the whole house. There were dirty sheets and stained towels, all despite the huge nonnegotiable linen fee we paid in advance. And they didn’t include a picture showing the front of the house, probably because there is still a lot remodeling is left to be done. All we could get from the owners to compensate was an extra two hours added to the checkout time. We do not have an issue paying fees for cleaning and linens, but in exchange, the house should be clean and well stocked. We got very little response from the owner once issues started to add up and no real help resolving our problems. All four families in our group were very disappointed. It’s really too bad because the deck is awesome and the inside of the house is redecorated nicely. There is potential if the owners can get the kinks out. But for our experience the fees were way too high for what we got in return. This is the first negative review we have ever left on a rental.

Great stay at Lake Gaston
Beautiful property. Accommodating for 6 families comfortably, 7 if you have kids. We came in the winter so didn’t get to fully enjoy the lake but will definitely return and recommend.

Lovely, clean house
My group enjoyed staying at this property. There were a few, very minor repairs that needed to be done, but overall the house is very clean, nice furniture, well-stocked kitchens. The dock is a great spot for enjoying the lake.
