I arrived to a slightly older cabin than expected. But it was peaceful and quite. I woke up to the road being dug up at 7am. The construction kept me from leaving for hours and when I was able to get out, i couldn't get back in. This lasted 2 of the 3 days i was here. I contacted the owner, his answers was i didn't know. Not very likely as this is a large utility repair through the whole neighborhood. And even people in town were aware of it.
And the master shower in fact backs up almost flooding the bathroom. I could only use 1 of the 2 shower heads provided

Needed additional space for family to stay near our home in Pine for a family get together.

Just the two of us celebrating our anniversary. Our only complaint was the porch stairs and railing! The stairs are very weak and we were waiting for a step to break through. Also the handrail is all peeling and you have to grab the side to avoid getting wood or pain splinters. We are if an older age and we needed to hold on to not only go up the stairs but to be cautious in the event a stair tread broke through. These definitely should be fixed before someone gets hurt and the owners are sued. I’m not the only one who has commented on this. I thought surely it would have been addressed before we went up. That’s why I couldn’t give it 5 stars and also the back yard could use some sprucing up.

Where do I start? First, the backyard was completely overgrown and the area between the screen door and back door was filled with cobwebs, dirt and debris. The kitchen sink leaked every time we washed dishes or ran the dishwasher and flooded the cabinet and floor. The master shower didn’t drain and filled the pan with several inches of water. Some of the windows did not open and all but the bathroom window had no screens. The bathroom window was so dirty that you couldn’t see out of the bottom half of the window. The front deck paint was peeling and the steps leading up to the front door were loose and rocked when you stepped on them. The family room rug was absolutely filthy, as was most of the carpet throughout the house. Several lamps were missing the parts that turn the lamps on and off. I could go on! Many of these issues were reported to the Owner and Evolve by our 2nd day in the house, yet the owner failed to even respond or acknowledge our concerns. We rented the property for 7 long days! DO NOT RENT HILDA’S RETREAT unless you don’t mind living with the conditions listed above.

Pros:
House is really nice and very clean
Furniture and beds were really comfortable
Quiet and nice neighborhood.
WiFi worked very well
Saw elk one morning
Kitchen had everything you needed for cooking
Cons:
No AC. Has portable ac units that are loud so you have to listen to those run all day and night. Was hard to enjoy the peace and quiet. Living room was still warm with that and fans going.
Skylight in master bedroom made it hard to sleep in or take a nap because it’s so bright in there. No way to block out the sun.
The steps to the deck are sketchy. Was worried I’d fall thru one of them. Handrailing is splintering so had to be careful not to touch it.
Backyard is small and was very overgrown so didn’t bother going out there.

Hilda’s cabin was perfect for a weekend getaway in Pine! It had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Easy to find and a great neighborhood with elk strolling thru the yard! We would definitely stay again. I offer just a few suggestions: refinish the hand rail on the steps - we got a few splinters; replace the memory foam mattress in the first bedroom; and indicate on the listing that the grill is charcoal so guests can be prepared. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

The home was beautiful and clean. We stayed for 4 days. Location was amazing and we saw several elk and deer in the yard daily. The spare bedrooms need to have bedside lights for reading at night. The septic was overflowing and needs to be pumped. We would stay here again.

The living area was large and offered plenty of space for everyone to spread out. The cabin was extremely clean and the location superb with stunning views of the forest and wildlife. Beds were quite comfortable and the decor was charming. Everyone in the family said they would definitely stay there again.

Excellent property. We had two issues. The first was that we couldn't get the heat come on. It wasn't freezing. but it was chilly. They do have space heaters available. The owner called and tried to help us get the heat on. She was apologetic and the local property manager was out of town. We were fine, but the heat would have been nicer. The second issue is a bit more important. The entry from the garage front or garage side, the walkway is made up of odd shaped rocks. Very difficult to walk on and concern for twisted ankles. The walkway needs to be flattened and possibly concreted. We are 4 people in our 80's which made it a bit more interesting. Would revisit this property again and am very satisfied with our stay.

Our family had a great getaway to Pine! We loved the gas stove that heats the home, it gets nice and cozy quickly. The landscape is beautiful, and it was a short (1.5 hr) scenic drive to the red rocks of Sedona. It snowed a little while we were there- but thankfully it was warm enough that the roads were still passable and it added a magical glow to the setting. Host even provided a bottle of wine! Thanks for the lovely stay.

The 4 of us greatly enjoyed the comforts and space and peaceful location of this home. The kitchen was huge and well supplied with cooking implements. The front porch was a great place to be outside, do yoga, watch elk, and just relax. The location was very quiet, except for occasional atv’s and side by sides. Great place to relax and enjoy nature, and yet close to town.

My wife and a buddy were in Pine to run a race. Came in a day early, the plc was available, so Yvonne was kind enough to go out of her way on short notice to accommodate us and check us in. Great plc to stay, great little town, phenom hosts. ❤️

Spent 3 nights in Pine for our anniversary. Home was very cozy and roomy. Visited frequently by elk. Quite with beautiful breezes.

We Enjoyed our stay at this cabin. It was just the right size for our family. It was clean, nice and bright and had everything we needed. Plenty of items are supplied like shampoo and conditioner, toilet paper, paper towels, bug spray, sunscreen, games, cards etc. It’s in a nice neighborhood in the woods, good for walking and fresh air. We saw elk and deer. We stayed at the end of August with daily highs in the low 80s and lows in the low 60s so we didn’t need the A/C.
We couldn’t figure out the TV and decided we were fine with that. I know if we had asked the contact she would have been happy to help us though. We recommend this home for a comfortable stay.

Great place to get away from the city.

Private getaway good for family
Overall a good experience, however there were several issues we could not overlook. ac is not central, they are window units and it doesn't do much in the great room when it's 90+ outside. The keys are not properly labeled so we had to fumble to figure out what was what. There were bugs in one bedroom and a dead roach or cricket in the entryway. The oven let out a strong gas smell when we first fired it up but then it was fine. Despite this things, overall it was a great place and had kid friendly items. Great location and wonderful deck/private yard.

Loved it!!
The house was absolutely beautiful and the owner added so many special touches like a sweet note, wine, and lavender soap to welcome us. She went above and beyond to make sure we had a wonderful stay. We loved the house and location. It was warm, cozy, cute, and comfy with an amazing porch. It was decorated so beautifully. We will definitely be back and stay longer so we can enjoy the house even more. This is one of our favorite house we’ve ever stayed at. And the owner is absolutely wonderful! She was very quick to respond to any questions I had. We can tell so much love was and is put into this house, making sure guests have the best experience.

Special getaway
We visited this property for our family Thanksgiving and had an amazing time. The host was extremely thoughtful and left gifts, a personalized welcome card, and ideas of places to go. The property was beautiful inside and out. We saw a lot of elk and squirrels on our walks & had fun exploring the small shops around town. We thoroughly enjoyed our time there and are already planning our next visit!

We had a wonderful week at Hilda’s cabin! We didn’t want to leave. It was such a nice peaceful neighborhood, there’s wildlife all around. Elk and deer walk around throughout the neighborhood. The cabin was clean, and had everything we needed. The owner left a lovely welcome card with a bottle of wine and some lavender soap from a local store. Communication with the owner was great. We can’t wait to come back!

Perfect
The cabin was so cute and cozy. Had everything you’d need: well stocked kitchen, plenty of bedding and towels. Owner left a gift and big spray which was so helpful. Neighborhood is great to walk around in. Walking distance to lavender shop and a mile away from THAT brewery if you don’t mind the walk. Saw lots of elk, deer, and raccoons.
