About this apartment rental
An ancient canal-side palace within minutes of St. Mark’s Square.
Hidden away on its landside within the secret courtyard ‘Corte Rubbi’, on the Castello/San Marco border, this once forgotten building has been magically transformed by restorers with vision and interior design savoir-faire.
Standing at the gondola-busy T-junction of the San Zulian and Bareteri canals, and encapsulating 10 dazzling apartments of varying colourway and size, the newly launched Corte Rubbi is but a stroll to some of Venice’s most iconic attractions and countless beguiling vistas on which to feast your eyes!
Easy to find (when you know the way!) from the shop-lined Campo San Bartolomeo and Salizada San Lio on one of Venice’s canal-encircled ‘islands within an island’, these imaginatively furnished apartments offer Wi-Fi and a communal laundry room and are spread across 4 floors with all upper floors reached by stairs.
Highly contemporary in style, air-conditioned** throughout and ranging from a charming studio for 4 to a fabulous penthouse with rooftop terrace, Corte Rubbi’s 10 apartments sleep up to 42 guests if booked exclusively and include:
Corte Rubbi 9 – on the 3rd Floor reached by stairs – sleeping 4 (+1). Upon previous request we can organize a porter service with a surcharge.
A vibrant and easy-living 2-bedroom apartment with sublime canal views comprising:
A main living / dining area delightfully decked out in shades of teal blue, taupe and Cole & Son’s Procuratie Con Vista wallpaper with warm wooden flooring underfoot, wooden beams overhead, a double sofa sleeping one guest and a pair of windows with decorative balustrades facing the water enjoying a view of the bridges over the charming ‘Rio dei Bareteri’ canal (Canal of the Cap Makers) and the little balcony of the secret little Casino Venier – an 18th-century ‘ridotto’ (today a cultural institution well hidden from the tourist crowds!)
Also in this room is a kitchenette to the rear, well equipped and suited to light cooking
2 gorgeous double bedrooms each with a double bed, Cole & Son’s Fornasetti Acqaurio wallpaper, and windows with decorative balustrades offering canal views to the fore (one with a direct view onto the ‘Rio dei Bareteri’)
Two luxurious bathrooms in marble, one with chromotherapy shower

OUR COMMENT
A characterful and easy-living canal-view apartment in a vibrant, central and endlessly fascinating part of town.
A few steps away from the 18th-century church of Santa Maria Della Fava and close to a host of famous sights and attractions including the atmospheric Venetian time-capsule that is the Querini Stampalia, the fabulous Palazzo Grimani just off Campo Santa Maria Formosa, the Church of San Zaccaria with its crypt and wonderful Bellini altarpiece, and Vivaldi’s La Pietà on the sunny Riva degli Schiavoni waterfront…
… A short stroll towards a very sedate pace of life lived out amongst the tranquil calles, canals and green spaces of Castello with its laid-back and very genuine neighbourhood vibe…
… Or rise with the lark to embrace the atmosphere of St. Mark’s Square (‘the Piazza’) gloriously near-empty before its visitors arrive… or visit at night when the orchestras of Quadri and Florian play*, the bells of the Campanile (bell tower) toll, the marble of the Doge’s Palace glows, and the mosaics of the Basilica shimmer in the darkness…
Close to a host of shops, restaurants and bars including the much-lauded Alle Testiere, the upmarket Bistrot de Venise and Alle Corone of the nearby Hotel Reali, the charming Osteria Al Portego (delicious cicheti!) and Osteria Ae Sconte, plus Ristorante Santa Maria Formosa with its tables on the campo.
Also within easy reach of 4 well-stocked supermarkets – a Despar at Calle al Ponte de la Guerra, a COOP at Salizada San Lio, and a COOP and a Despar on the Riva del Carbon (near the Rialto Bridge), along with a ‘Vino Sfuso’ (wine on tap) shop on Calle del Mondo Novo and a greengrocer’s stand at Campo Santa Maria Formosa.
Within a short stroll of the vaporetto (water bus) stop at Rialto for exploring the city, the ‘Traghetto’ gondola ferry carrying passengers across the Grand Canal between the Riva Del Carbon and San Silvestro in the San Polo district and the vaporetto (water bus) stop at San Zaccaria for trips around town, visits to the Lido beaches and to the Biennale Pavilions at Arsenale and Giardini.

We couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay. Check in process was easy, beautiful apartment, large rooms…. And air-conditioning worked perfectly. Don’t hesitate to book here!!

We loved our stay, from the view to the comfort to the (wonderful) air conditioning during a heat wave in Venice. A nice quiet spot still in the heart of everything, and our hosts went above and beyond to make our journey comfortable and make recommendations on how to best use our short time in the city.

Absolutely loved this gorgeous canal apartment! Best part of our 3 week tour of Italy❤️

Property management was very communicative and helpful. They even had a representative meet us at the vaparetto station and walk us to the apartment. The apartment building was beautiful and we loved the apartment we rented. It had wonderful canal views. It was updated with nice touches like the bathroom lighting and usb outlets. There wasn’t an elevator which was fine for us, but if you have mobility issues, it could be a problem. The washer and dryer was conveniently located right outside the apartment. It was a shared laundry room, but worked out fine for us. Everyone seemed to be thoughtful of others use of machines. The location was great. We were close to St Marks, but didn’t have the insane crowds. It was close to the Rialto Bridge and easy access to other areas of Venice. We would definitely stay there again.

I don't know where to begin. This apartment was absolutely beautiful. This 2 bedrooms/ 2 bath was completely updated. The main reason I picked this place was because of the view of the canal with the gondolas. I would just stand at the window admiring the view. the floors, ceilings just everything was so modern, I loved it. The building is very safe, and each floor landing was so unique. There was a washer/dryer on our landing, but I didn't use it. The location was close to everything. We walked to St. Marks Basilica, The Rialto Bridge, St. Marks Square, the Grand Canal, The Bridge of Sigh and so much more. We got on a gondola right in front of where the windows face. Marco was so helpful with arranging a private boat service to the apartment and he also arranged the boat service when we were leaving. The boat picked us up a few minutes away from the apartment and drove us straight to the Marco Polo Airport. I highly recommend this apartment; you will not be disappointed.

Beautiful apartmwnt with everything we needed: comfortable bed, great water pressure in showers and close to everything but nice and quiet. They even arranged a water taxi for us on our departure, which was very helpful.

Property was very clean and comfortable. It would not have been easy to find it on our own but Marina greeted us at the ferry and walked us to the property. She also made sure we had everything we needed, answered all our questions and even booked an early morning water taxi to the airport for us. Just a note that there are a good number of stairs to get to this unit so if you have an issue with stairs you should try to book one of the lower units. Overall, it was a good experience.

Wonderful apartment, gorgeous building interior - note there is no elevator but stairs are wide and easy. Great view of canal from the living room, just as you see in the photos. Would definitely return!

Location is good. Quiet and well insulated apartment. Beautiful view of the canal. Apartment has everything you need for a short stay.
I think it’s good to put some entrance mat (door mat) on the ground floor entrance. As when it gets wet in Venice and you come back with wet umbrellas and wet shoes, the marble stairs can get slippery

Thank you so much for the fantastic stay. The apartment was very well located and Christina who picked us up to give us the keys was very kind and helpful!

The apartment was all we needed. It was very clean and the host that met us was Great. We reached out to her a couple of times and she was always pleasant and helpful. She ordered the water taxi for us to the airport. I would definitely use this company again.

What a beautifully styled Venician apartment, it was peaceful, clean, nice and cool. We had all we needed from the little kitchen to beautiful soaps in the bathroom. The beds were so comfortable and it was quiet with the double glazed windows. The view down to the canal was so special. We loved our stay!
It was perfect 5 stars

Perfect for our family of 3 visiting at the end of May. Very close to everything yet so quiet you wouldn't know it. Seriously terrific location. Wonderful views of the canals from all 3 rooms. Hosts were efficient, friendly and helpful. The apartment was clean, modern and tasteful. It was a little more expensive than we were looking for but the quality of the apartment, comfortable beds, generous showers (we were wishing ours at home was as nice), air conditioning for all three rooms. We would definitely love to stay again. It is a 3 flight walk up the stairs. I would suggest that the bath towels be refreshed, many of the ones we received were a somewhat worn and thin. However, they were clean and dry and that's what counts. We really enjoyed our stay.

The apartment is an amazing location that overlooks one of Venices most photographed bridges. The rooms are tastefully furnished with high end modern finishes. The two bedrooms are identical and the two bathrooms are very clean and modern. The kitchen was stocked and you can sit on the couch with a glass of wine and look down at the bridges below. The on-site laundry is great with separate washer and dryer for those with longer stays. This is the place we will stay every time we visit Venice!
None of this is something to improve just some things customers should know before they rent. The location is a hidden gem and we will stay here every time we visit Venice.
There is no elevator, if you are on floor 4-5, you will be climbing a lot of well lit stairs over the trip.
Don’t sleep with the windows open at night, even in January, there are night time mosquitoes that will get in.
This is an old, and beautiful Venetian building, you may hear the bumps and murmurs of other guests, but not excessively so.

The apartment comfortably housed 4 people (two couples). There were two separate full bathrooms which made getting ready easier. The windows are overlooking a side canal so you get a great view in the morning. The wall separating the two bedrooms are thin and you need to ascend three flights of stairs to access the apartment but they do not take away from the overall experience. We stayed in early October for three nights, the apt temp was well controlled and comfortable. The wifi reception was also strong and reliable. The apartment location is great, not on a busy street but if you walk 5 minutes in any direction, you’re suddenly in the heart of the action. Piazza San Marco is a 6-10 min walk away and Ponte Rialto is 3-5min away. The property management team was easy to work with and are able to meet you upon check in. They can also assist with arranging private transport from piazzale Roma (for roughly 70 euro) directly to the apartment. When departing, be mindful of the tide as the boats are unable to enter the dock at campo de La Fava when the tide is high so you need to walk 5 min with your luggage to a meeting point in ponte Rialto. Overall, it was a great experience and I recommend staying at this apartment.

This was my first visit to Venice and I was unsure of what to expect staying in an apartment, the service from the start to finish was exceptional. The apartment is impeccable with all mod cons. The location is ideal and easy reach to the main tourist attractions. I would highly recommend booking with VOV and would like to say thanks for a memorable visit.
Late checkout should be complimentary if there is no booking.

Beautiful apartment
Loved our stay in this apartment! The apartment was clean it is beautifully decorated and we had wonderful views of the canal. In addition the beds were very comfortable. The check-in process and communication with the manager were also very good. My only recommendation and I feel now I’m being picky since everything seemed perfect is to add cable I tend to like watching the news in the morning while getting ready. Other than this everything was great and we would stay here again.

Wonderful apartment
Clean, modern. Plenty of hot water. Incredible view. Well-equipped. Located in beautiful and safe building. Close to everything. Fantastic rental.
We confirmed with Views on Venice when they booked our private water taxi to the train station that the taxi would take credit card. Views on Venice said that their taxi service would accept credit card. When we arrived at the train station, the taxi driver refused a credit card and we had to run inside to get cash because we did not have enough! It would have been better for VoV to tell us to have enough cash just in case. But this was a small matter. We loved the rental, we loved Views on Venice, we loved Venice and hope to be back one day. It was a magical visit.

Needs Soundproofing
The Villa is in a great neighborhood in Venice, and the building itself has incredible old world charm, with gorgeous views of the canals, and the passing gondolas. One thing we were not expecting were the daily trek up many flights of stairs, which took their toll on my 70+ mother's knees.
However, but the apartment itself is beautifully decorated, and was clean with the exception of the microwave and fridge. The two issues we had were with the noise from the upstairs guests. They were speaking at a regular volume, and we could hear conversations clearly, which means they could probably hear ours. This could be remedied with carpeting.
The barrier between the rooms had the same issue, and it could have used some insulation in the building process to avoid intrusion of privacy.
The other issue was the lack of air-conditioning. Situated at the top of the building where the heat collects, our only option was to open the windows to let the heat escape, and invite the hoards of unwanted mosquitos, which we did when things got unbearable. This could be fixed by wiring the existing air conditioning units which are there, but apparently not operational yet. Had we known they didn't work, we would have chosen another place to stay.
Overall, the hosts were professional, and very responsive and seemed genuinely helpful. My issues were with the property itself. Although picture perfect, it's not exactly comfortable when you're there, which was disappointing.

Fantastic apartment in the heart of historical Venice
Our family of four had a fantastic stay at Corte Rubbi 9. The apartment was spacious with two bedrooms and two bathrooms. Both bathrooms and the kitchen have been recently renovated. The kitchen was well stocked. Great views of the canal and a short walk to all of the sites in Venice. We would highly recommend this apartment to all of our friends visiting Venice.

Amazing Apartment in Venice
This apartment is newly updated and beautiful. The two bedrooms were very comfortable, the two bathrooms are modern and spacious. The kitchen is a nice size with dishes, pots,, and pans and anything else that we needed. Just a few minutes walk to either San Marco Square or the Rialto Bridge. We were given a map of Venice and Valentina noted where we could find a grocery store and several recommended restaurants. Having the laundry available was very helpful too. There are a few flights of stairs to reach the apt, so be prepared to haul your luggage, but it's well worth it to have such a great place to stay.

Corte Rubbi 9
Wonderful place in the heart of Venice. Historic but beautifully refurbished complex, with a spacious apartment facing a side canal. Host was very nice and responsive, from water taxi pick-up to check-in. Loved every minute of it and might be looking to come back some time soon.
