A beautiful country house with 2 pools situated among the olive and cork groves. Very spacious accommodation which included a small kitchen which came in handy as we didn't realise that the location was isolated and we didn't feel like eating out. A nice outdoor terrace, perfect for sundowners. Vidigueira is just a few kilometres away. I particularly appreciated the absolute silence surrounding the property, no noise except for birdsong. Perfect for unwinding. Beautiful views from the pool areas and lots of space to lounge about outdoors. Generous breakfast.
Unfortunately no evening meals are provided.

The exceptionally well cared gardens and the delicious breakfast is the best, all done by a wonderful couple you lives and work there at the houses and are caring about cleaning, maintenance, reception and cooking. They are not the owners though. They get fresh bread in the morning from some km away, they prepared fresh orange juice, cakes and coffee. The garden looks like a mini botanical garden, which requires a lot of daily work with olives and oak trees and other plants.
Room is as shown in picture but it would need some mending.
Locationis ok to visit some wine makers around
No WiFi provided anywhere in the full location although it is announced so. The router gave an error that SIM card was not inserted, which made us think the owner aware of error. There is mobile data connection but also not in the house. Regular calls also only outside the room in the garden at certain points. This makes my overall review fall as it seems the owner is not caring although the 2 people working there work hard to keep it at its best.
The window to the balcony was almost impossible to open, as it is stucking in the frame.
In November the bed was feeling a bit wet because of weather and using aircon is making the room a bit warmer but not very confortable to sleep.
The bathroom is opened to the bedroom and that also makes that smells and damp goes directly into the room.
The toilet's sitting part is moving and makes it very unstable

This is a unique, out-of-the-way bed and breakfast. We were charmed by the place and the kindness of the non-English-speaking caretakers. Breakfast was exceptional. There are two beautiful swimming pools, which we did not use because it was cool and drizzly.

I liked the location of Monte do Mato because it is isolated from any noise and light pollution ( perfect to appreciate the stars at night). Moreover, I liked the staff ( really helpful), the facilities ( rooms are really well thought and designed , two swimming pools etc) and I loved the breakfast ( mainly fresh local products).

The breakfast was perfect and has homemade cakes, the staff was incredibly helpful and kind. The rooms are quite big and comfortable, the pools and surrounding areas are perfect to stay and get some sun. Wifi is available only in some areas so you can unplugg from your daily life and just enjoy the sun and nature
Strange sewage smell in some areas

We were with a group of 9 people, five were teenagers and the staff especially Dona Ana was so accommodating of all the room changes. We had a wonderful time in the property barbecuing, swimming and enjoying the local cuisine and wines.

The Wi-Fi wasn’t working.

The location was quite good and the surrounding nature is beautiful. The only person working there really tried her best to meet everyone expectations The breakfast was quite good.
There was no reception at the property. There was only one person taking care of the whole place, including check-in, prepare breakfast, cleaning of the rooms and so on, but that was impossible for one person only. The smell of our room was nauseabund. After complaining, the lady said that it was a problem from the pipes but that she could not do anything about it. For the price we paid, we found that extremely disappointing. We contacted the property afterwards and never got a reply. There is no wifi connection in the room. The room was full of candles but nothing around to light the candles.

Location, property, breakfast
Air conditioning in our room and in my parents room didn’t work, we had to ask for changing rooms as our first rooms were too cold.
