About this house rental
Nestled within the heart of St Issey, a hamlet just outside Padstow, you can find our ARC – an 18th Century build restored to its original plan by Parti Architects. In a moving assembly of light, material and space, the interior of ARC Padstow exhibits the honesty and authenticity of the building’s past through the use of exposed Cornish slated walls, original beams, restored historic fireplaces and other raw materials that combine the cottage and the contemporary together. Crafting decadent forms alongside a peaceful, contented spatial ambience, there is something special found within its walls. Something lively, something poetic and something familiar. But really, it's hard to call The Arc of Padstow anything other than a home. A home made just for you.
Formerly a listed Manor House, Courthouse and Mill, the building is united together by the characterful garden sat at the heart of the property, rigged with garden rooms, an oval sun lawn, outdoor kitchen and electric hot-tub. Entertaining 26 guests spread across 12 en-suite king rooms – fortified by five reception spaces – there is plenty of room to relax, recover, dance and dine.
As you enter the entrance hall, there are two living spaces to welcome you, both with open fire places and logs to get you started. A delightful playroom offers children some interactive space of their own with a door out to the garden.
The kitchen is state-of-the-art, with four ovens, pizza oven, Braai and much more, there is ample opportunity to explore your culinary skills, taking advantage of ARC’s Lobby to fuel your stay and kindle your time spent together. The focal point in the room is the wood burning stove, traditionally complimenting the period features and original stone work of the room.
The dining room is a stunningly designed space connecting outside and in, with an entire glass wall which slides open to the patio and hot tub, a bar area and wine storage, and a catwalk entrance for the ultimate arrival.
Across the first, second and third floors are eleven out of the twelve bedrooms and bathrooms; all wonderfully calm spaces with gentle décor and a relaxing ambience. Four of the rooms have king-size beds, the other eight super-king size. Three of the super-kings have the option to be configured as twin rooms, and one has 2 additional trundle beds, suitable for 2 additional guests where necessary. All bedrooms are either en-suite or have close access to their own private bathrooms, finished with Italian carved marble basins, deep soak tubs, and walk-in showers.
To the side of the Manor House is a parking area for 6 cars with EV charger, and further space for 4 more cars available nearby. Coach transport can be arranged (fees may apply) if required for group trips out with no driving.
From its scenery and sand to its Seafood and Sauvignon, Padstow epitomizes a serene sanctuary abundant with the simple pleasures we’ve fallen accustomed to living without in the bustle, hustle and tussle of modern life. Tucked west of the River Camel, the balmy fishing port and harbour town has become ubiquitous for its delicate dining scene and remarkable trails, dutifully set within stone’s throw of the Seven Bays, and the accompanying dramatic coastline and awe inspiring pastoral landscape of North Cornwall.
ARC is a curated and crafted collection of the most remarkable homestays, from the minds of London-based architecture studio Parti and design studio Regular Practice.
Designed to be shared, ARC effortlessly combines the charm and attention to detail of boutique hotels with the repose of rural life; embodying a modern luxury that replaces glitz, glamour and bling with an architectural elegance, comfort and purpose.
Comfortably hosting up to 30 people per house, our ARCs are curated experiences like no other; furnished with all the creature comforts and convenience needed to make your stay as easy as possible.
Guests can plan as much or as little as they’d like, using our online Lobby to curate their stay; from the best local breakfast delivered to your door, and a private bartender for cocktails night, to in-house yoga and a personal photographer to document the getaway.
Throughout the homes you’ll find the latest extraordinary work from our ARC Salon, an ever-updating inhouse cultural program exhibiting the artwork of emerging talent – created to support the greatest local artists, designers and thinkers. There to admire and inspire, all pieces are also available to purchase as a lasting keepsake of time well spent, together.

Second visit to The Arc Padstow, fabulous property, very well equipped, good location for accessing Padstow, camel trail and beach at Trevone. Jackie is an excellent host and looked after us well. Thanks again.
Larger facilities for washing and drying, lighter plates.

We were a group of 26 and had a great time there. Weren't greeted by the house keeper as she wasn't feeling well but the whole house was in perfect order. Wifi wasn't working but was fixed very quickly - used arc staff network. Kids had a great time in the jacuzzi outdoors and had delicious wood fired pizzas. Parking space for 6 cars. Plush towels, rain ponchos and Arc fleece jumpers were also provided. Huge kitchen with all facililties for a large group. Didn't get to use the bicycles as we were walkingtravelling by car, good option if needed. Would highly recommend ARC Padstow.

The house is spacious even on full occupancy it does not feel cramped. The kitchen is well appointed with lots of crockery, serving dishes and cookware. The outside space works well and the local team are just super. Beds are super and everything works well. Lots of outdoor and indoor spaces for break outs.
It is in the centre of a village so you have to move inside at 10pm, strict. The neighbours are very close, but friendly

Jackie, the house keeper, was very helpful and accommodating

Jackie was very friendly and helpful just a call away the facilities were excellent
The kitchen floor was difficult to keep clean concrete steps to dining area are unforgiving and the dining chairs would benefit from soft pads to deaden the sound but it’s a super holiday base thanks for creating it.

Beautiful house and excellent facilities although we did not get to use them all. The housekeeper Jackie was very friendly and super helpful with any problems we had. Lots of added extras included in the kitchen which was very welcome and loved the welcome bottle of Negroni. Facilities in the kitchen excellent. Bedrooms were lovely and clean and beautiful en-suites with fluffy towels and shower gel etc. loved the extra large sweat shirts to use as a dressing gown. We didn’t need to use the rain ponchos but they looked very handy to use in bad weather. We all loved our stay at the Arc Padstow and would highly recommend.
There were no instructions for using coffee machine and other kitchen equipment, I know you can Google it but some written down instructions would have been helpful. Also some additional instructions for using the fire panel, the smoke alarm went off and although there were instructions there they were not easy to follow on the unit. Just a thought fir the lounges, we all found the sofas a bit too deep and uncomfortable some additional large cushions for us shorter people would help(maybe it’s just our age!)

None of us could get WiFi until Tom said to use the ARC staff connection but that was on the last day and the alarm went off most days around 8.30am

Jacqui is a huge asset to your business and made us feel completely at home and welcome.
The beds are wonderfully comfortable
Outside entertaining space is exceptional
Minor items:
Kitchen fridge/freezer door handles are almost impossible to open.
Lack of hanging and storage space inside bedrooms ( Jacqui and Tom arranged for temporary corridor hanging space)
Lack of a coffee machine and only large cafetières (you need several small ones) made morning coffee a challenge

We had a wonderful 60th party with friends and family. The house was perfect for 3 nights and accommodated 26 of us really well. The kitchen was very well equipped and we managed to cook several meals without a problem. Located just outside Padstow we had plenty to keep us amused. Would definately recommend for a large group.

We were a family of 24 staying at the Arc in Padstow to celebrate Christmas as a family. The accommodation didn’t disappoint. It’s finished to a very high standard throughout and there is plenty of space and bathrooms for everyone. The lounge areas are very comfortable as are the bedrooms. We took our dogs with us and the garden was perfect. I can’t recommend Arc Padstow enough. You really won’t be disappointed. It was also lovely to meet the housekeeper - Jacqui who welcomed us all with a glass of bubbly. Thank you :)
I honestly can’t think of anything. We will be back.

Where do I start…. The description of the house is very misleading
Games room: it’s very small with a TV that does not connect to the internet so is not available to use! Not much space for games. The hot tub: is just a hot tub, no bubbles and takes a long time to heat up using a fire to do this (you do have to pay for the wood because you need so much to heat and the house only provide 5 bags free of charge) bedroom: 50% of the bedrooms are very small. No wardrobes so if your staying for the week (like us) it is very frustrating living from a suitcase as there was no space in the bedroom. Also, one of the bathrooms had a leak (even with the shower curtain in the bath).
The location is ok but the locals are not very friendly. I found the South of Cornwall were a lot more welcoming. You do need a car if your staying at this location as nothing is local. Lastly, we were charged ridiculous amount for damages to a door (that was done before we arrived!) be sure to take photos when you arrive and when you leave as the place wasn’t thoroughly cleaned when we arrived as there were sandals under a bed that was clearly missed.
