Enjoy family time in an open kitchen with a large pantry stocked with the necessities such as coffee, coffee makers (two 12 cup drip), and Keurig pods, cookware, large serving pans, silverware, wine/regular glasses, blender, basic seasonings, paper towels, toilet paper, dish soap, etc. This should be enough to get your stay started off comfortably, and possibly for the entire trip. The home has two washers and three dryers which is great for large families. High speed internet, three large TVs, ESPN and other streaming outlets.
We want to be considerate of all of our guests so we do ask if you bring pets that they don't sleep on the beds please.
The home has beautiful tile and hardwood. The balcony, upper-level porch (unscreened) and carefully designed places within the home are a delight to sit back in a comfy chair, sip your drink of choice and enjoy the lake. The upper balcony has two picnic tables as well as chairs with gas grill (gas provided). There is a foosball table upstairs as well for the kids. The lower-level porch (unscreened) has a hammock swing with chairs and tables to sit back and listen to the birds chirp. Cornhole bean bag toss boards and horseshoes are also available.
If you like smoking meat, a giant smoker is on the property. Feel free to bring your favorite flavor of smoking wood and have fun! It’s perfect for vacations or football weekends to watch your favorite teams by the water.
One canoe and one “John Boat” (similar to a canoe) are included for you to paddle around on the beautiful water. Dock is attached for you to swim around and sunbathe. We also include a giant floating mat you can attach to the dock, as well as inner tubes to float on. Beach towels are included for your stay.
Pontoon boats for cruising or tubing, as well as bass fishing boats are available for rent. Tubes are also available for rent. The boat rental owners are super nice and helpful. The boat can be picked up at the marina or they'll deliver to the house for a small fee.
You are welcome to bring your own boat or pontoon and tie up to our dock. You’ll have access to the private community boat ramp.
We are retired restaurant owners so the house has pictures of some of our menu items which we took out of our old business. They brighten up the home and will probably make you hungry! 😊
We leave our Christmas tree up all year long because hey, every day is like Christmas morning at the lake (also great for weekends around the holidays!).
The main floor of the house has a large open room with high ceilings. The kitchen with granite countertops and stainless steel appliances is fully equipped for your stay. Everything you need to whip up a great meal is there. Large gas grill is just outside on the porch.
A breakfast room that’s perfect for breakfast or playing cards and boardgame while you look out over the lake. Across from the kitchen is a full bathroom.
The dining room seats 10+. A sofa and flatscreen TV are also in this large area.
Around the corner you will find the spacious master bedroom with a king bed and private bathroom with a shower and bathtub. Large flat screen TV in the master as well.
The guest bedroom on the main floor is a full-sized bed and very cozy.
A large laundry room with two washers and three dryers is downstairs.
The downstairs den has a large flatscreen and big, comfy couches. You’ll also find a second kitchen with a refrigerator, dishwasher and sink here as well.
Around the corner are two guest bedrooms and a full bath… one guestroom has two full-sized beds and the other has two queen beds.
Go upstairs to the third level and you’ll find four more bedrooms and a full bath. The first room has a full-sized bed. The second has two queen beds, the third is a giant room with three king-sized mattresses and one full-sized mattress, a large flatscreen TV and a sink. You can access the fourth bedroom through the giant room. The fourth smaller bedroom has two twin beds inside.
An extra twin mattress is available if needed.
Our cove is residential and has several year-round residents. We ask our guests to respect the peace and quiet our residents enjoy. Loud outdoor parties are not appropriate.
The nearest marina is about 30 minutes away on the water… just past the 48 bridge. They have gas pumps open seven days during the summer months. 6 days in the fall and winter.
Restaurants in town as well, however admittedly scarce. Nearby from two grocery stores in the town of Wedowee (~15 minutes), Roanoke (~30 minutes) and Anniston (~60 minutes).
About Lake Wedowee—
Lake Wedowee, technically “RL Harris Reservoir” was created in the 80’s by Alabama Power. It’s 10,000 acres (1/4 the size of Lake Lanier north of Atlanta or Lake Martin near Montgomery) and was formed from a deep river channel of the Tallapoosa River. The water is very deep, and very clear. At our south end of the lake, hundred foot depths are the norm.
Alabama Power lowers the water level about 8’ staring in early October until late April. It does affect the appearance of the shoreline somewhat. Our dock does remains floating. The lake in the winter is special. Incredibly quiet and peaceful.
We welcome you to our slice of paradise!

We loved our time at this house and on Lake Wedowee. It was perfect for our large family. We enjoyed the easy access to the community boat ramp, the steps leading to the dock from the home were not too steep. The house was roomy for our family of 20. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Our church group rented this property for a weekend retreat. The place was beautiful and accommodating. We had a great time. The host, David, was communicative and helped us fix a booking error we had made.
Perfect for what we needed and the host was super helpful. Highly recommend!

This property is perfect for big family gatherings! It was wonderful to have the long table in the main living room for a big group game times, and meals on the rainy days! The view and access to the lake was great- we were thrilled to be able to use the two kayaks and canoes on the sunny days! Our family also enjoyed the fire pit and a long morning walk around the neighborhood! We made wonderful memories and plan to come back when she turns 100!

Stayed at the house this past weekend with 15 people in our group. We were down for a game weekend in Auburn and the drive is manageable (about 1-1.5 hours). The house is fantastic, tons of room and right on the water. Highly recommended for large groups and we'll definitely be back

We thoroughly enjoyed out stay! Everything was as described, and the host was very responsive in helping us with some of the very minor issues we encountered (finding extra paper towels, etc.). We'd definitely recommend this location to anyone!

We had a wonderful stay at Lake Wedowee. The property was perfect for our family reunion. Everyone had a wonderful experience at the lake swimming, boating, kayaking, and paddle boarding during our week long stay. The hosts were very responsive and were great about checking in to make sure our needs were met.

Couldn’t ask for better place for our family of 12. Something for the youngest to oldest. Everything you would need for a real “foody” family. Host was very helpful and quick to respond to questions . Would certainly recommend this property !

We had 23 people stay and this house was perfect! We had an absolute blast during our stay. The host was communicative and easy to get ahold of. We had from age 6 months to over 60 years and it was comfortable for everyone. Would recommend this house to anyone.

The house and grounds were just as we expected and more. The seclusion of the cove fit us perfectly. The children could play in the water without the worry of a jet ski or boat flying thru. The host was phenomenal. He rapidly replied to any questions or concerns. Fantastic vacation.

PARADISE FOR LARGE GROUPS
The surroundings are private and beautiful. The house has everything necessary for a large group such as a multi-generation family reunion. The kitchen has PLENTY of plates, bowls, glasses, flatware, etc + every cooking utensil/baking dish we could think of.
The miltiple living areas made it possible for different age groups to do their own thing. Morning coffee can be enjoyed on one of the porches overlooking the lake and trees. Bird watching is great; a great heron visited the dock for a couple of hours one day.
Our group loved the fact that there was room for everybody at one table. Also, Christmas in July was our theme this year so the Christmas tree was great for our Chinese gift exchange and singing.
This property can't be beat for a beautiful setting offering everything a large group needs .

Family weekend at the lake
We had a great time with our extended family. The house had plenty of room for everyone and we loved that there were ample towels and beach towels. We used the boat and canoe and had a blast in the water. We also loved using the smoker for a family bbq. David was so great answering questions prior to our trip and also checking in with us to make sure all was going well. We would definitely come back!!

Yearly Family lake weekend
Great property, excellent response time with owner. Garage with ping pong table needs attention otherwise discription of property is accurate. I let Me Thomas know and he said he would attend to it. Absolutely beautiful and plenty of room. I would encourage others to schedule their stay!!!!

Nice
Our family enjoyed staying on this lovely property. The spacious house is beautiful and the features of the dock, fire pit, hammock and lake are a bonus. Although there are neighbors near privacy is not an issue. I would recommend this home for family gatherings and celebrations.

Wonderful family getaway lots of room for everyone
We hosted a 79th birthday party for my father here with all of his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. The house was wonderfully stocked with towels, linens, toys and plenty of seating. The upper porch quickly became a great hangout, second only to the dock. There was plenty of space for all 21 of us! We are working out the details to book again for next year.
The owner communicated well and was super responsive to all my questions prior to arrival and checked in with me once we were on property.
If you are reading reviews to decide if you want to book this property - book it! We will definitely be back!

This is an amazing house with awesome owners! They were so helpful with everything. The house was the most well stocked house we have ever stayed in. There was plenty of towels, washcloths, soaps, dishes, spices just to mention a few things. We had 21 people and fit very comfortably! Our family will certainly plan on staying here again!

Happy on the Lake
We had a family gathering of 13 in total. We had so much fun fishing, canoeing, and cooking meals in a gormet kitchen. We enjoyed football on several TVS, not everyone there enjoyed watch the Tide wash over LSU! We caught so many fish on the dock we kept 3 poles busier than expected. My nephew, 3yrs old found toys to play with in a cute little unexpected play space, and enjoyed the safe upstairs balcony watching chipmunk and squirrels chase each other. Comfy beds, lots of bathrooms and hot water for 13! Very excited to do it again in the spring.

Gem of a place to stay with a large family! 3 levels allowed us to have plenty of space and not feel crowded. The 4 full bathrooms made wait times to shower brief. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook & feed our crowd. We didn't need the 2nd kitchen downstairs. There were more than enough beds with a variety of firmnesses to meet everyone's comfort. (I found a perfect memory foam upstairs & an aunt her perfect firm ground level) Upper porch was relaxing with such a peaceful view of the lake, with is an easy short walk to dock from the lower porch. We did not use the smoker, grill, canoes, boat dock, or swimming due to the fact our 2 night stay was for a family funeral in nearby Roanoke. Over & over the whole weekend, everyone commented on how perfect this house was & what a blessing for us all to be together during this sad time. This home & owner met every need we had so there was no added stress. (we needed an iron, which most lake vacationers don't need. The owner had someone bring us an iron & board that night.)The only bad report any of us had to give was the cleanliness level & a poor GPS direction. I have chatted with the owner over what we found unsatisfactory. He was surprised & apologetic over the poor cleaning job. He immediately requested details so he could remedy all issues for future guests. I have given that and he responded with gratefulness. As for the GPS directions, avoid County Road 803! It is a dirt road that will cause you to waist more time than the saved milage. Stay on paved road til you come to Dam Road.We will be back! We all expressed the desire to return with the rest of the family for a full stay in the near future.

From the very beginning, David was quick to respond. He thoroughly addressed any questions about the property and surrounding area. We had a group of 20 and were very comfortable. Any cooking utensil you could think of is readily available.Paper towels and tissue are available, but bring your small back-ups. We left an air spray in each bathroom.....a must have. Towels are plentiful. Plenty of seating. The 2nd fridge came in handy. There is a massive cooler under the breakfast bar....very useful in keeping the fridge for food only. I can't say enough about the comfort level. Beds and pillows were PERFECT.If I could give the host more than 5*s.... I would. We drove from northern IL (12 hrs). Other family from north GA. David was able to accommodate our request to check in a little early. We were able to stagger arrival to avoid a rush all at once. Last note...be sure to assign rooms and have someone grab ice and drinks for the large cooler on the way in.....especially if you're there for more than 2 nights. We never had to leave Friday -Sunday. We loved your home.

We will be back!!
We had 5 families with dogs evacuating from Hurricane Ida. We booked the house on Friday and checked in on Saturday. David was very accommodating to us and answered all questions very quickly. Cannot say enough good things about the house itself or our time there. We were able to escape all the madness that comes with a hurricane for a few days. The house can definitely fit 30 people comfortably, the view of the lake is amazing and we had a great time on the canoe and jumping off the dock. We are already discussing how/when we can go back for a vacation instead of an evacuation.
