The home was perfect for my crew. We didn’t get to use the house as much because we were at events all day throughout our stay.

Stayed here while a group of us were showing horses at the Houston Stock show. The house was perfect- everyone had their own bathroom! The house was nicely updated and clean. Lots of room for everyone

This is a heritage house in a central neighborhood, close to many of the attractions of the Museum District and activities for kids and families (many of which we visited). The location was good if you have a car, it was not the most walkable neighborhood. As with any historic house, minor issues with the plumbing, electrical, HVAC, etc can be expected but the owners do a good job mitigating these issues. Space heaters and air conditioning in every bedroom, seems like you need one or the other running at any time depending on the weather (was quite cold when we visited so we only used heaters). Hot water might take a while to get to further bathrooms but eventually it does if you keep it running. Noise from the nearby freeway was variable; I only noticed it at night but some adults in our party thought it was a nuisance and others didn't hear it at all (all six kids slept through the night). The kitchen was well equipped with enough dishes and coffee makers to keep everything running smoothly for our group of 12 people. Owners were very responsive by txt msg to the provided phone number but the VRBO messaging system through the website seemed to have glitches: sometimes the owners would not get my msgs and sometimes their answers to me appeared in the thread before questions I'd asked (often delayed).

It was over all a very pleasant stay except with the trouble of getting in the house. We ddnt get the code clearly in numbers i dont know why. We normally get the instructions days before the arrival. Very close to freeway and of course you can hear all the noise upstairs. We enjoyed our bonding nevertheless and the separate bathroom was great. Thank you Helen for your prompt reply to all the issues that came up.

We chose this home because it was large enough for everyone in our group to have their own bed & bath. Based on the pictures and description we thought the neighborhood would be more walkable and the property would be more updated. Our main problem was with the old house/mildew smell that we couldn't get rid of, even with the numerous odor absorbers, air fresheners, and candles we bought. Also, there's no central AC and the window and floor units were quite loud. There was only one small TV in the living room - none in the bedrooms. Just not what we expected.

We had a wonderful time at the White House! Excellent location close to lots of restaurants and everything we wanted to do in Houston. It was so nice for everyone in our group to have their own bedroom and bathroom and we appreciated having one bedroom downstairs for my husband's grandmother. Although the house is very close to the highway we did not notice any noise inside the house. Helen was a gracious host and responded quickly to all my questions. We would definitely stay here again!

There is so much to like about this older house. Would definitely recommend for large groups. The architecture is awesome, inside and out. Updates like the showers and kitchen were attractive, but at the same time nooks and oddities of the house were retained. Every bedroom was wonderful, and each had its own bathroom. Also, large living and dining areas were great places to congregate. Although close to the highway we only really heard noises when we were outside in the beautiful backyard, another place to gather. And although just within the gentrification region around the museum district, we never felt unsafe.
We went just as the weather started to heat up, and the window unit ACs had to work constantly to keep the place cool, but we started comfortable. Other travelers suggested issues with the showers, but we didn't have any issues ourselves.
Hostess was friendly and helpful, although communications sometimes arrived later than we would have liked: I couldn't find that the entry code was provided until after agreed upon entry time and check out instructions arrived after we had left

This house was perfect for a recent weekend trip with friends. Each bedroom has its own attached bathroom with shower and the the common spaces were large enough for us to gather for meals and conversation. Walkable to museums and restaurants.

This home was exactly what we needed for our stay in Houston for our son's wedding. The house was very clean and comfortable and had most everything that we needed. A beautiful older home with modern updated bathrooms and kitchen. Loved the wood floors and staircase. Each bedroom with it's own bathroom and small table and chairs was a nice amenity and the beds were comfortable. This arrangement was perfect for our family - traveling with our adult children and grandchildren. We all enjoyed the privacy of each individual 'suite'. It was hot in Houston and the individual air conditioner's in each room somehow kept up to keep us all comfortable after the initial arrival. We spent a lot of time in the living room playing the provided board games. We were within walking distance to a brewery and museums though we chose to drive to museums because of weather. The only small issues were that the ice maker in the refrigerator couldn't keep up for our large group which is expected. We simply purchased ice and put it into a large bowl in the freezer. And we felt that there needed to be more dish towels and dish cloths. Sponges we're provided but no towels to dry hands or dishes. Also no hand towels for the bathrooms. The backyard was untrimmed and overgrown so we didn't get to enjoy that space at all which was a bit disappointing. We couldn't find details on checkout and the final communication was not sent until early morning on the day of departure (a day late) when we were packing up so we didn't see it until after we left. It is always helpful to have this ahead of time to assure all requirements are met during the busy time of preparing for travel days. But bottom line is, we loved this house and recommend for any large group or family.

Good Location for our Venue
We had four families represented during our stay which the property worked perfectly for us. We had everything we needed during our time there.
The communication with property manager could’ve been much improved. The arrival location and access into the property was not included with the confirmation of our booking even though she said it was. The messages I sent, I did not feel like she was actually reading based on the “replies” I received. I finally got the information I needed after I made a frustrated phone call to her. Then I felt like she was trying to back petal by sending a message that was patting herself on the back. Two messages from her would’ve answered me and I would’ve been satisfied with her response One would’ve been that the entry code would be activated at 4:00 upon arrival time. That’s all I needed to know in addition to the address. Getting this information was like pulling teeth! It was not included with our confirmation at time of booking! That would have simplified the whole process.

We needed a rental with 6 bedrooms to accommodate our BBQ team and families. All bedrooms had en-suites where no one had to share bathrooms. Plenty of sitting room and the lovely wood floors and bannister were just beautiful. The pictures on the listing do not do justice to this old beautiful home. The owner responds quickly.

Lovely home, great hosts
We booked the house for a weekend of team building and marketing strategy. 6 women and each had her own bedroom and bath. It was a very cold weekend and the host came by the first night and brought more heaters for us. They were so responsive. It was the perfect house for what we needed.

Loved the 100 year old house…..but we had to flip breakers at least 10 times outside because no central air. Space heaters and window units in each room, kept over loading the system. Even with space heaters, it was a bit chilly downstairs.
For a house with 6 bathrooms only one 50 gallon water heater. Not enough hot water if more than 2 people staying in the 6 bedroom/6 bathroom house.
