The place was brilliant. Very clean and well equipped. All amenities as advertised and beyond. Matt is awesome.
Message for Matt:
Hi Matt. We messed up one thing; we broke your coffee table. We kept a heavy bag on it and one of the legs gave way. Please feel free to reach out to me as I want to compensate you fully; my number is five-four-zero-nine-four-seven-one-two-two-three and email is chaturhar-at-gmail-dot-com. My humblest apologies.

Pretty responsive host and a great location. The apartment is very near to the Journal square PATH station. No complaints other than some minor cosmetic things that need to be taken care of at the apartment.
Would definitely stay again if I'm in the area.

Good place to visit thanks to PATH. Matt answered very quickly. a significant defect for us regarding the cleanliness of the accommodation. pet hair everywhere.

It was a great experience. The apartment was clean and very well equipped. It had a really cute 'Jersey vibe'. AC worked great. The neighborhood is older but never any issues. People of the neighborhood were very friendly. Parking was more difficult, but expected. It usually depended on the time of day you were trying to park. I believe the description said the apartment had a dryer but it didnt have a washer or dryer. We were walking distance to the PATH transportation system which was very nice. A really good Mexican restaurant right around the corner. It was a very nice experience and we would definitely return.

Great little apartment. However listing needs up dated. There is almost NO parking on the street and you will get a ticket if parked for more than 2 hours. Towels are provided but only towels- no wash clothes. Also if you are sharing a bed and you or your partner are blanket hogs, the only thing on the bed is a fitted sheet and a Thick comforter. No throws, blankets or flat sheets. Also only one TV was signed in Netflix- one of the spare rooms. Living room and master bedroom were not. I messed Matt about it and did not get. A response, so up until then, Matt was excellent at responding to any questions and concerns. Overall, very very satisfied just a few things. I wish I’d known before I got there.

Cute apartment in Jersey City that maximized space. Worked well for us as it gave our adult kids their own space at the end of busy days in NYC.
It is a relatively quick easy walk to PATH train into the city. Had a cute little eat in kitchen area and sofa seating area with tv.
Building and neighborhood are older and it shows, but as long as you expect that going in, you should be able to enjoy your stay and appreciate the more economical option .
It is light and bright…bring a sleeping mask if you wish to sleep in! Towels and linens were good, but would have liked a few extra hand towels.
Check in process was easy and great information shared about area.

I stayed from December 29, 2023, to January 1, 2024.
On December 31, as I was getting ready to head out to New Year’s Celebrations, I reached behind the kitchen sink to pull back the curtains. Little did I know, there was a broken glass window that extended below the rear of the sink, where I couldn’t see the broken glass. The broken glass was still embedded in the frame, and sticking up from the frame. When I reached behind the sink, I cut open a finger on my right hand. After two hours of trying to stop the bleeding, I decided to go to Urgent Care. The first Urgent Care did not accept my VA Insurance. The second one did not either. The third Urgent Care did accept my VA insurance. This third Urgent Care numbed my finger with pain shots, and put in four stitches. I was given a tetanus shot, and a week’s worth of antibiotics. I need to go back to my local VA after 12 days and have the stitches taken out. I am still in pain.
This property was not in a safe condition, and it wasn’t worth the money I spent, considering the whole affair ruined my New Year’s Eve, and caused me a lot of pain.

We really enjoyed our stay at Matt’s apartment in Jersey City. Great location, easy access to Journal Square PATH station to the City. Clean apt with ample space. Matt was a great host, and offered some good recommendations for nearby coffee and pizza.
There are a lot of stairs to walk up, which wasn’t a problem for us - but should be considered for anyone renting.
Nice touch with Christmas decorations in the apt for the holidays as well! You won’t go wrong with this apt for a trip to NYC.

The rental unit was very well placed for access to the PATH train into NYC. The neighborhood was nice enough. There were lots of services close at hand. The unit was clean and comfortable. Everything worked. Truly enjoyed our stay.

We had a very nice stay in Matt’s Jersey City property. The updated condo allowed every member of our family to have a little space after a day in the city. We also chose this property because it was close to the PATH into Manhattan and was reasonably priced. Together this allowed for an extended stay. Matt is an attentive host who strives to make his guests feel at home. Any guests visiting from smaller cities or suburbs should be prepared for a stay in a urban setting and older property. This does not detract from the stay if you have informed expectations and keep an open mind. Our family felt safe, comfortable, and had a blast.

The space was clean, pleasant and just as described. I had a couple of questions and they were answered right away. Close walk to the PATH and a very safe neighborhood. I would definitely recommend!

Just back from a great week at the house in Bergen area of Jersey City. House is exactly as advertised; clean, all amenities available and spacious enough for accommodate us easily. PATH train station is an 8 min walk away for routes into NYC and Jersey City.
Time to 33rd street approx 35 mins.
Communication from hosts excellent at all times and very helpful.
Highly recommend.

Perfect for a family of 4 with 2 teenagers. We took the PATH each day to Manhattan, it’s a close walk from the appartement. We left our car at Bob’s garage for our entire stay and had no problems at all.

Our stay at Matt's house in Jersey City was a pleasant experience. The listing is true to description and pictures. The host were very hospitable and welcoming. We really enjoyed having all we needed already provided in the house. This includes nice dishes, plenty of soap and clean towels. There's a nice little grocery store a block away for anything else you may want or forgot. The apartment made it easy to prepare our meals and sometimes dine at home. We usually enjoyed 2 meals a day prepared there.
The apartment was just a few minutes walk from the PATH train that takes you over to New York. However, if you have a car, the parking is limited but not impossible to find. But with the location's proximity to the train. Who needs it.
The only thing I'll say about the apartment is that is on the third level. So there is a number of stairs to go up which is probably only a concern if you have an elderly person with you or someone with difficulty climbing stairs. Other than that this day was perfect and would definitely recommend!

We stayed in this VRBO for a few days to visit New York. The unit was well taken care of and had everything we needed while we stayed. With two teenagers, having separate spaces for everyone is hard to find in big cities, so this unit met our needs perfectly. It was a fraction of the cost of a hotel room in Manhattan and gave everyone their own bed and bedroom.
To get into New York, we took a short, 10-minute walk to the PATH station, which dropped us off at World Trade Center or 32nd St. From there, you can transfer to a subway or walk to where you need to go. The PATH ride is about 30 minutes and cost $11 for a family of 4 each way. This is significantly cheaper than trying to Uber, which can be $40+ to get into the city.
From the unit, there are a few places you can walk to for basic needs as well as a few restaurants. Downtown Jersey City is less than a $10 Uber ride away and has quite a variety of places to eat. We took an Uber from this unit to Liberty State Park to catch the ferry to the Statue of Liberty. Very quick ride and easy access to the monument, and later downtown Manhattan via the return ferry.
All in all we had a nice experience in this unit. Matt was very responsive and accommodating as well. If you are looking for an affordable place for a family to spread out while they visit NYC, this is a great option!

Very comfortable beds and pillows! Great shower! Nice to have 3 bedrooms! Close to a nice grocery store and close to Path station. A downside was that we could hear street noise at night.

Beautiful place and the blue stairs and twinkle light made it much easier to find! Matt and Chloe were great with communication and could not have been better hosts. It was a perfect location for those wanting to be near NYC an was very quiet in the evenings. Cannot recommend enough!

We attended our son's wedding in New Jersey, but wanted a few days afterward to enjoy New York City, and some sights in New Jersey and this was the perfect location! We had a car, so we needed somewhere that we could park it, the parking garage was only a couple of blocks away. The PATH train into NYC was only a couple of blocks away. The apartment itself was very adorable and well suited to our needs. When we needed more toilet paper, the owner was very accommodating and on top of getting it to us immediately. Loved it and would definitely book this place again.

Great communication with the host, just a few minute walk to the PATH train taking you directly into the city, great coffee down the block, a central market on the same block, and the property has all the amenities you’ll need during your stay!

Matt was amazing to work with, responsive and prompt. The property was just as you see in the pictures! Clean, nicely decorated, cozy and quaint.
We had 4 adults, there was plenty of room for us to relax after a long day in the city. It was a short walk to the PATH, which we used everyday. There are plenty of stores, restaurants, bars and shops within a couple of miles. Hoboken and Grove Street had a lot of options. There is a liquor store around the corner, a grocery store up the street and a convenience store just a few minute walk away.
We felt safe walking around no matter the time of day. It was a very quiet neighborhood, and the police station is up the street.
We had the best trip, and would definitely stay here again for future trips!!

We were in JC for the NYC marathon. Leading up to the trip Matt was great and very responsive including providing extra information as we prepared for our adventure.
The location was perfect. Short walk to the Path station allowed for easy access to/from Manhattan; grocery stores and other shops were nearby and easily accessible. The area is quite eclectic which we enjoyed.
Although the place worked well for our needs, unfortunately, it was not very clean when we arrived (there were several clear indicators of the past guests). As well, some of the included amenities weren’t stocked (shower soap was empty and no coffee for example). This was both disappointing and surprising since the listing indicates the place is cleaned/sanitized between guests (as well as previous reviews praising cleanliness) and also provides a list of the included amenities. I contacted Matt right away and he was very responsive and extremely apologetic. He worked to rectify things as best he could; coffee, extra bedding and some tasty snacks were dropped off. Matt also offered to have the cleaners come back the next day but we declined since we had all of our personal belongings in the space at that point (there were 6 of us) and didn’t feel comfortable with folks coming through (no safe to lock valuables).
Overall our stay was good. We are willing to chalk our experience with the lack of cleanliness and supplies as a one-off (perhaps the cleaners were having a bad day) but, in reviewing our stay, I felt it was important to include this in case it occurs again.

Attractive, comfortable place
Very attractive and comfortable place. Nice to have the train nearby. Had problems with parking on the street. And if you’re not used to urban settings the neighborhood can be a little intimidating. We had no problems.

Perfect Space for Us
This was a wonderful, charming top-floor apartment that looks exactly as it does in the pictures. The 3 bedrooms were perfect for our family to spread out for a week. The kitchen and bathroom were well-equipped for our stay and the couch and beds were super comfortable. We loved being close enough to walk to restaurants and the PATH train to go into NYC. The host was excellent with communication and went above and beyond to make sure our stay was everything we hoped for. Highly recommend--10/10-- and hope to come back some day!
