HOSTED BY: The Candy Apple is a part of the All Belong Collective, a local small business dedicated to providing 5 star stays. Our team will take good care of you!
NEIGHBORHOOD DESCRIPTION: Daniel's Hill is a beautiful, historic neighborhood within walking distance of downtown Lynchburg's shops, restaurants, and events. At the end of the street is an entrance to the Blackwater Creek Trail system, which provides guests miles of paved (and unpaved) walking, hiking, & bike trails.
In our neighborhood, you'll find some brick-paved roads flanked with historic lamp posts, a bustling community center with a fenced-in park and playground, sidewalks in both directions, and architecturally impressive homes built from the 1820's to the early 1900's.
The people in our neighborhood are just as beautiful and diverse as the houses themselves, ranging from residents who have lived in the neighborhood for 50+ years and others who are new to Lynchburg. On the block alone, there are families with young children, single professionals, and elderly folks. It is a "front porch" neighborhood where everyone knows everyone and they watch out for one another. We love this neighborhood and are proud to call it our family's home.
POTENTIAL FOR NOISE: The home is located in historic Daniel's Hill and has beautiful views of the James River. Also situated on the river is a historic iron pipe factory and a railroad. It is fascinating to watch trains go by on occasion and watch the workings of a 24-hour factory (a rare glimpse at American manufacturing!), but please note there is a risk for noise. Our family lives in the neighborhood and is not bothered by it, but we realize it may not be for everyone and some nights work out to be worse than others. We provide a white noise sound machine in the bedrooms should guests feel they need it.

We booked this VRBO in Lynchburg, VA for our son's college track meet, and it couldn't have been a better choice! The house was wonderfully spacious, offering plenty of room for our son, a couple of his teammates, and ourselves. Everyone had comfortable areas to relax and unwind.
The property had a view that included the river, but even better for the guys was the trail they had easy access to for long runs along the river.
The VRBO itself was well-equipped and comfortable. Everything we needed for a relaxing and enjoyable stay was provided. We highly recommend this VRBO to anyone seeking a spacious and comfortable place to stay in Lynchburg.

Extremely comfortable house and very clean. Beds were so comfy.
Neighborhood is older but close to everything we needed. Recommend!

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Candy Apple! From the moment we arrived, we were impressed by the cleanliness and charm of the accommodation. The location is perfect, being conveniently close to downtown and all the local attractions.
Lisa was incredibly hospitable and provided all the amenities we needed for a comfortable stay. The cozy interior made me feel right at home, and I appreciated the thoughtful touches like local guidebooks, complimentary snacks.
Communication was seamless, and host was always quick to respond to any questions I had. I highly recommend this VRBO to anyone looking for a delightful and stress-free experience. I can't wait to return on my next visit!

The hosts could not have been more helpful and kind. The place is enormous with tons of space and is definitely great for kids :)

We enjoyed our stay. There was plenty of room for everyone to spread out. We had four adults and seven children, there was plenty of room and beds for everyone. The house was clean, kitchen was well stocked with everything you need to make meals at home. It was so convenient having some essentials supplied by the host such as coffee, sugar, shampoo, conditioner, paper towels, etc. The beds were super comfy. I had read in some previous reviews that the noise from the factory behind the house was disturbing, we definitely agree. We came prepared with ear plugs but the noise from the fork trucks in the middle of the night woke us up several times. The neighborhood was ok. Not exactly the nicest but we did not have any problems and we did not feel unsafe. The owner quickly responded to questions we had prior to our stay and check in was very easy. Overall we really enjoyed our stay and would recommend this home for a vacation.

In town for our daughter’s wedding. Very spacious, lovely home and close to town.

Property is adorable and spacious. It had a special treat of a gorgeous big Christmas tree. We did have an issue with oven not working but management responded timely and maintenance arrived within a few hours. TV’s only had streaming. No national stations which was not ideal. But overall the house was great.

The Candy Apple was the perfect home for our family to celebrate our son's wedding in Lynchburg, VA. We selected this home to meet the needs of our large family coming from Florida for the wedding. It was extremely clean, had plenty of room for everyone, was perfect for children, and our host, Amy, could not have been more accommodating. She answered all my questions and made our stay wonderful. Definitely will return.

We came to Lynchburg to visit my son and his fiancé. We were close to a lot of great restaurants and enjoyed the space that the home offered inside the house and outside.

We were in town for a wedding. The home was spacious, clean and close to so many things to do. We saw deer on our walks. Super nice people at the community center, which is where we hung out for about an hour before the house was ready. We do plan on visiting again!

We stayed at Candy Apple this weekend and it was perfect for our family! There was plenty of room for our teenage sons, our college daughters, and the grandparents. We were even able to bring our dogs so our daughters could see them! The house was spacious, clean, and extremely pet friendly. The owners thought of everything- from a snack basket on the counter to extra dog treats!😊 We have been visiting Lynchburg long enough to know that most of these rental houses are in “older” parts of town, so we weren’t surprised by the location and the neighbors all seemed nice. After reading other reviews, I wondered if noise from the pipe factory would be an issue, but it wasn’t at all- no one in our family even mentioned it! We will definitely stay here again next time we bring our dogs.

Spacious, clean, and comfortable ... this house has everything! We loved all the special touches: themed fun rooms, snacks in the kitchen, Wii in the basement, and especially the growth chart marked on the trim in the kitchen. It reminded me of my own kitchen where our son's growth is marked .... the perfect memory for our stay as we leave him at college in Lynchburg. We enjoyed the neighborhood with deer in a nearby backyard, view of the river, and the sweetest neighbor across the street who greeted us with a smile and a wave from her porch every day. The only reason I couldn't give five stars for the location is due to the factory noise behind the neighborhood. Forklifts with beeping sounds took some getting used to. It wasn't super loud, just a regular and present sound. All in all, such a wonderful experience. We will book again if the opportunity arises!

We loved this house! We were gathered as a family to attend daughter’s wedding. The house suited our needs perfectly! We appreciated the generous space to be able to spread out, the lovely unexpected extras, the kids area downstairs, the Christmas decor that made the house so festive as well as the normal decor. Thank you for a great stay!

When these homeowners decided to rent their property, they understood the assignment!! Huge living room with sectional to hang out on, kitchen has everything you need including creamer and sugar. All bathrooms have shower gel, shampoo & conditioner…very well stocked. And the beds are so comfy. Very warm and cozy house to stay at with family and friends. Located within walking or short driving distance to DT Lynchburg which has a ton of restaurants, bars and things to do. Will stay again!

We rented your house for our sons wedding who was on leave from the Navy. Our family and 3 of his best friends came in from Texas. All of us had the best time. Your house was perfect. We had so much room and everything we needed. We even had enough room in the living room for a mother/son dance before the wedding. You truly thought of everything. If we ever come back to Lynchburg we will definitely stay again. Our grandkids enjoyed the tree house out back. Thank you for your hospitality.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Candy Apple house. It was a great location, close to a walking path and a playground for the kids. We enjoyed watching the trains go by and the work being done at the pipe factory and for us the noise was not a problem. The furniture and beds were very comfortable and we really appreciated all the extras that were provided for our stay (snacks, toiletries, paper products, laundry detergent, etc.). Thank you so much for allowing us to stay and enjoy your home!

Family lodging at its best!
Our family was so delighted with the accommodations and extras that Candy Apple offered. The children loved the play area in the basement, the bunk beds, toys, tree house and skeeball! We were delighted that the youngest settled right down in the crib without any problem. The many bathrooms and many bedrooms were just what our family needed. We were able to all eat together and found items in the cupboards that helped with our meal prep. The neighborhood was quiet and peaceful and Amy was great to work with.. We can't say enough good things about Candy Apple!

An easy weekend getaway
This property was perfect for my little family and friends. We were lucky to have locals to give us a tour but the spot couldn’t have been any better. They were really thoughtful about making it easy to go right in (shampoo, conditioner, body wash, kids games…).

I honestly have never stayed at a VRBO property as nice as this house. Hands down an amazing place to stay. Beautiful property. Clean, comfortable, high end furniture, wonderful additions (like the Wii), and beautiful neighborhood. The house is so well insulated that we did not notice any noise from the industrial park in the valley below the house. It was actually a fun thing to watch the trains come in and the pipes being loaded. The back of the house views are stunning looking down the river valley. Very easy access to the downtown and a quick shot to the major Lynchburg areas. We 100% recommend this house and will definitely stay here again the next time we are out.
This house has the quality of an actual home, not a rental. This is THE place you and your friends should stay if you are anywhere near Lynchburg.

Needed a large house for family gathering with conveniences nearby. With several of us having to prepare for wedding, the four bathrooms made this much easier. We made more memories as we all gathered around the large dining room table and shared stories and laughter. We were even warmly greeted by neighbor across the street. Took advantage of walking from house along historical trail into downtown Lynchburg. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Our family chose the Candy Apple because it seemed to fit the bill for a nice family getaway. Inside the home was beautiful, clean and stocked with snacks, keurig supplies and so much more. The Wii was a huge hit with the kids. The back yard was nice for our dogs. The only complaint would be the area was a bit sketchy, a factory was nearby with trains coming and going and one king mattress had quite a dip in it. We thoroughly enjoyed the Children's Museum nearby, the Liberty Station for an amazing meal and a great afternoon of shopping at a nearby mall. All in all, it was a nice weekend that was enjoyed by all.

We absolutely loved our stay here! The home is decorated beautifully, very clean, and had more than enough space for us and our 2 dogs. The pups thoroughly enjoyed the fenced in yard and we really enjoyed the space and view as well. We loved walking to get delicious bagels for breakfast at Bacon St Bagels, just a few minutes away. The hosts were thoughtful and responsive. We will have to come back with family next time!
