Nice place - good central spot for exploring the coast of Maine!!

We really enjoyed Father's Day weekend at this very well appointed home.
4.7
The property was beautiful. Excellent location, had everything we needed, so comfortable. We absolutely loved it.
4.7
Our group of friends loved staying on the water! We especially loved the living room with a big window to the river, and the outdoor seating around the fire pit. There were 5 of us and we felt comfortable.
Some of the furniture/decor/toiletries was a bit basic but it worked so well for our needs. The driveway was a bit tough on our (low to the ground) cars. But no dealbreakers at all, we totally enjoyed our stay!
We love Maine and we will likely be back!

We absolutely loved this home and didn’t want to leave! The view of the water was serene and tranquil. We found ourselves gazing from the windows for hours and watching the wildlife. The bedrooms are perfectly placed with sunrooms attached to two of the rooms with thoughtful amenities provided throughout the home. The coffee and tea pods for the keurig was a nice touch. I spent a few days working remotely, and the wifi was strong and the samsung monitors were a great addition. Boothbay harbor was about a 25-30 minute drive. Damariscotta was about 22 minutes away, another picturesque, seaside town to explore. We hope to come back in the future.

We 4 friends enjoyed our stay check-in was easy with more than adequate communication from Vacasa. Appreciate the ok for early check-in but I got the ok too late for us to really take advantage of. Great views from rooms facing the river. very comfortable bedrooms. Compared to previous reviews-the bathrooms appear to have been recently updated; very nicely done tho shower curtain in 1 was not well secured to wall. We suggest additional towel bars and clothing hooks in both bathrooms.
Kitchen appliances were good for our needs. Might be helpful for guests to have instructions for using the multi-use toaster/oven/fryer. We had to defrost the ice maker in fridge to get it working properly.
We enjoyed the quiet setting and would rent here again.

Lovely water view and outdoor seating made for a peaceful visit.

Great you had a generator!!!

It is a very quiet location with beautiful views and an equally beautiful house! Clean, spacious and close enough to the conveniences but not too close ;)
4.7
The location is perfect and the views are breathtaking. Sunsets and sunrises are the best!
4.7
The property is beautiful and in a gorgeous location. Would stay again in a heartbeat.
4.7
Everything! House, comfortable, great view, the awesome fire pit, and pet friendly.
4.7
This residence is lovely, well equipped and provides easy access to the Wiscasset area in Maine. Nights are quiet and the view from the windows was a wonderful way to start and end the day.
4.7
Home has beautiful views of the river and a great fire pit! As mentioned in previous reviews, there was poor water pressure in the guest bathroom, evidence of mice in the kitchen and dingy rugs in the living room and master bedroom, all of which we addressed with the rental company after our stay. Despite those few things, we enjoyed the home, and would definitely stay again.
4.7
Great vacation! Easy access to 3 state parks, Boothbay Harbor, Damariscotta, Georgetown! 10 minutes to Wiscasset, restaurants and groceries. Property is private with great outdoor space, beautiful views of the Back River! Kayak in the river, boat launch nearby, but lakes and ponds nearby. Check in with the Deedee at the Town Hall for other great places to visit. Vacasa was great!

Loved this house. Breathtaking views from every room with lots of extas. This house was exactly as pictured and was perfect for 3 couples.
4.7
Clean, comfortable. Only thing i would suggest is that you replace shower head in small bathroom and have more water pressure.
We had a very relaxing time.
4.7
The water would last for 3-4minutes and then disappear...This posed some inconvenience. Otherwise the property was lovely.

This was a beautiful property located on the banks of Back River in Wiscasett, Maine. The large window looking out on the water made for such a relaxing time for my husband, our dog, and me. The house was emmaculate! The owners have plenty of lighting indoors, and they have placed labels with each switch so we knew what the switches went to. Instructions were available on how to use the household items and where things were located. A little "Welcome" bowl was even waiting for our fur baby! This property was convenient to a full-service grocery store, gas stations, as well as local attractions. We would love to stay here again if we travel to Maine again.

This has been our second summer at this fabulous house on Westport Island. Great house, great mid-coast location.
4.7
Well-equipped, comfortable, contemporary hideaway on the river, in the woods. Remote quiet setting within half an hour of shops and restaurants. We sat and watched the river, went to pet the alpacas, drove to Lands End, walked to the boat landing, and talked and talked and talked.

Magical Memorable Maine House
Having rented vacation homes all over the country for many years we can absolutely attest to the beauty and charm of this home on Westport Island. Each and every day the Back River in our back yard presented itself as a slow motion movie dedicated just to us. The close proximity to so many great towns and villages motivated us to take many wonderful day trips. We shall return next summer as it already is calling us back. On a scale of “1” to “10”, this home is a “20”!

Location and view of river were excellent.
While the bedrooms and living areas were attractive, the bathrooms were a throw-back to the '60s and really need updating.

During our arrival of the property, the driveway was full of snow, we almost past the road and the house (neither was plowed.) The driveway is a downslope, so there was sorry that we might slide when we’re coming or going. Wasn’t too thrilled about the extra long number for the code on the door, though I get that the longer the number, the more secure the house is, just that you also have to spend more time out in the cold to get all the numbers punched in correctly. There was also no lights throughout the whole property, upon arrival, so we had to reposition the car and use that head lights and flashlight from my phone to maneuver. I noticed at the end of our stay that the towel rack was broken from the wall and placed back in position as if it wasn’t broken and it was sturdy (which it wasn’t.) Also wasn’t thrilled to learn that we weren’t supposed to flush the toilet when we’d pee, but only when we pass our bowels, AFTER we paid for the stay. The bathroom sink did not disperse any hot water, which was also never mentioned to us. Everything else about the house was great. However, our trip was ruined because in Valentine’s Day, which was the purpose of our trip, I left my girlfriend sleeping as I went to gather the last items to surprise her with a romantic Valentine’s morning. Instead, I receive a frantic call from her stating that someone was in the house and I was a ten minute drive away. My girlfriend (who’s usually still sleeping at this time,) stated that someone opened the bedroom door while she was still in bed and when she looked up thinking it was me, the person closed the door. Then proceeded wandering through the house to then go in the veranda, which is on the side of the bedroom, exposing the whole side of the room with the two big windows and a glass door, which once the intruder began walking through, my girlfriend locked eyes with the woman as she casually walked by. My girlfriend gets up startled and walks out the room in a panic wondering who else is in the house, and she sees the wet footprints tracked through the house as it shows her intruder clearly passed by all of our luggage and shoes, and even took the time to start cleaning up around our belongings. I couldn’t get back to the house fast enough. The property manager eventually informed me that it was the housekeeper, who’d arrive way before our checkout time. Our Valentine’s surprises each, were ruined. Even the breakfast outing I planned.

Beautiful location on the river. The fire pit and deck are nice private areas to sit and enjoy the view. The kitchen and baths are dated but clean. House is otherwise nicely appointed/Marriot touched. Rooms are big and spacious. Pictures don’t do the property justice.

Nice Place to Stay
House had a beautiful view, comfortable beds and 10 minutes from charming village.

The setting and the house were lovely.
There were a couple of areas that we felt somewhat unsure about. Since the property listed a pellet stove as one of the features, we felt confident that it was there to be of use for renters. However, more explicit directions would have been useful. Also, we were unsure about what to do with the trash, as we did not find clear directions to outside trash cans. Other than those two things, communication about entrance and directions were clear. Thanks,
Adele

Nice property in great location
Great stay with some caveats. The house itself is very comfortable and nicely equipped; the location, on the water, is fantastic with outstanding views... even a public boat ramp extremely close by (wish we owned a boat). The two sun rooms are nice but not heated at all which was unfortunate as this was one of the major "selling points" for this property. For our stay in November, it was a bit too cold to use either one. The management company, while extremely responsive to text messages, seemed to be a bit disjointed. We had a couple of questions which were answered incorrectly by the first contacts who then had someone more familiar with the property get back to us with the "real" answer. Unfortunately, one of these interactions resulted in our not using the wood stove (in the listing) the first night when we really could have used it. All in all, we'd recommend this property but would advise to try to get property details ironed out as much as possible before your stay.

We had the best time staying at this property. We lit fires, did puzzles, saw wildlife, and cooked a lot of meals. The house is impeccable and just as you see it online. Will be booking another stay next for next year.

The house was in a great spot, views and outdoor space was awesome! The house is well furnished and has everything you need for a relaxing stay. The management company was very responsive and helpful whenever we needed them, not something you typically get when renting a private house, so that is an added bonus.
