This is a rural setting with many farm animals on the property. The accommodations were very simple but adequate with everything available that we needed. With all the animals on the property, this will probably not fit with everyone but we loved it.

The Farmhouse was everything expected and more! The previous reviews don’t do it justice. The place is adorable and Sharon and Alan are gracious and welcoming. The animals however, stole the show! Lucy, the dog is absolutely precious! She greeted us at the car made us feel right at home. The 5:00 Goat Walk with Alan was a true highlight. In the morning, we woke to a beautiful sunrise and the sounds of the farm coming to life. The goats Pocket, Pea Knuckle and more hanging out in their “PaGoata” house was just too adorable. It was so relaxing getting to spend time with the horses, watching the chickens, roosters, ducks, egrets, playing with Lucy and Buster, it was a truly memorable experience.

This was such a wonderful place to visit! Everything was perfect and the animals were just lovely. Loved the linens on the bed — could have slept all day. Thanks for this beautiful experience!

Amazing charming farmhouse about 10 minutes drive from Hana. Very clean and nicely furnished. Had everything you could need. Fresh farm eggs was a nice touch! Cute farm animals and very welcoming host.

Sharon and Alan are excellent hosts, and it's so fun and relaxed at the farm. All the animals are so pleasant and friendly, and the goats are a hoot. Our kids were in hog heaven...literally....with a lovely pig named Lincoln! Great place to see several gorgeous sites from on the east side of the island.

The guesthouse situated in a portion of the property was quaint and well appointed. The unit was spacious and contained a full kitchen. We throughly enjoyed the fresh eggs left by the host. The linens were of great quality which really added to our comfort and made us feel at home. Observing and interacting with some of animals on the property was an amazing experience. We took morning and afternoon walks enjoying unique foliage and architectural style of the neighborhood. The hosts (Alan and Sharon) showed us lots of Aloha and really impressed upon us the spirit of community.

Great location, cute, comfortable, spacious-feeling cottage with lots of windows & light that was perfect for my teenage son & I. We loved having the animals on the property around the cottage, and Sharon, the host was great.

Sharon and Alan were amazing hosts. They were very friendly and waited up for our late arrival, which we were not expecting. The animals are awesome and a fun thing to come home to after some long days exploring! The goats go on a walk with the hosts and it is fascinating to watch all the animals get in line to go. We are so glad we stayed here and if we come back, we will stay here again. Thanks again Sharon and Alan!!

Staying here allowed us to take the Hana Rd at a nice leisurely 2-day pace, not rushing to get back to the other side of the island.
My wife and I are animal lovers, so this was a joyous place to stay/support. It's not luxurious but the cottage has everything you need to be comfortable.
Goats may well be on the loungers outside your door at any time lol. We loved it.

This was an incredible place to stay with our kids! We only wish we could have stayed here longer. Alan was so kind and accommodating, and also didn’t seem to mind the chaos and noise of traveling with two little kids. And our kids LOVED the farm and getting know all the animals. The location was perfect and the quiet neighborhood was exactly what we needed. Our kids were in tears when we left because they wanted to stay on the farm “forever!”

We had an enjoyable time. Really nice accommodations, very friendly interesting hosts that show a great love for their rescue animals. They were very generous with a well appointed kitchen and super hospitable. We hiked during the day & it was a lovely comfortable place to crash at night.

The owner recommended a delicious pizza restaurant. We were very hungry.
She told us all about her farm. She also left nuts and fresh eggs for us.

Wonderful cottage tucked away near Hana. Alan and Sharon were very welcoming, and we enjoyed getting to meet their rescue animals. Especially Lucy the dog! If you are okay with animals, including roosters crowing, this is a great find.

This is a truly exceptional getaway location for those who love animals, quiet beaches, and country living. The hosts are wonderful and the dogs, the cat, and farm animals are very sweet. The nearby village of Hana isn't Waikiki or Wailea so plan on doing some cooking (and shop in advance) but that is what makes this a very special part of the islands and why we'll be back.

The animals are so friendly - From sweet goats to a pig who will chat with you to the nicest cat that I’ve ever met. The guest house was big, clean, nicely decorated and had all the amenities you could ever want. The owners were so kind and took time to answer all of our random animal and Hana questions. Highly recommend!

If you want to feel like you are staying with family, and you are a huge animal lover- this is the place you want to stay. The animals are so sweet, the property owners are wonderful. We loved the sounds of the rooster in the morning, with faint waves crashing in the distance. We enjoyed fresh eggs, and macadamia nuts from their property. The cottage is set with everything you need. It is a great location for sightseeing the Hana area. We will definitely look them up when we come back to the area.

This cottage on the Jahn's small farm was a perfect fit for me. Surrounded by birdsong, nature and the rescue animals all my stress just floated away.

Loved being greeted by chickens and goats every morning and when returning from outings. Host told us everything we needed to know and pointed us to cool local spots like the Kahanu Garden and trail to the Red Sand beach. East Maui and Hana Town are so mellow and quiet, different from West maui in all the best ways.

After the long trek on the Road to Hanna, found that the owner had double booked the VRBO. No place to stay, we had to make our way back down before dark (5pm). We had park reservations for the next morning that had to be cancelled. If you are going to use two rental platforms, please do your guests a favor, and keep track of your reservations. You ruined our Hana trip!!!!
Btw - as we exchanged emails twice the week prior, there was no excuse for this screw up.

We couldn’t have loved our stay here any more! Sharon and Alan were the most gracious, friendly hosts and truly welcomed us into their way of life as well as their rental cottage! We were greeted upon arrival by Lucy the dog, got to feed and pet Lincoln the pig, and accompanied the 6 goats on their evening walk with the Jahns. Sharon’s passion for her animals was so evident in the way she cared for and spoke about them! This stay is truly an experience, not just a bed to sleep in in Hana, and we are so thankful we were able to have the time to appreciate it!

We had a wonderful stay at this property. Wish I booked more days at this farm house. The owners were very accommodating and went above and beyond to make us welcome and comfortable. My kids enjoyed all the animals on the farm. The place was very peaceful. Enjoyed every minute of our stay.

First I apologize for the late response to review. All we can say is if you do not book this little farm as a weekender in Hana or for a break in between your Hana trek, you are missing out. We found it to be super charming. Alan is an incredible host, as are all the animals living their best life there. Lucy the dog came to greet us when we arrived, you will fall in love with her. The accommodation was spacious. At first we were a little concerned that there was no AC (sorry we’re from AZ…lol) but we quickly realized it was not needed. They do provide fans but really just open the doors and the breeze will flow through the screens, plus it rained in the evening and the early morning. There is a friendly gecko that hangs out in the unit, don’t be alarmed, he’s simply there for critter control. The morning we checked out, there was a gentleman there trimming the coconut trees and we were treated to fresh coconut. The farm is perfectly located & a short drive from Hana highway & places to grab coffee if you’re on the go. I/we could go on and on about this place but do yourselves a favor and go check it out. We can’t wait to return.
Aloha,
Pablo & Melissa.

Although we were only at the farmhouse cottage 1 night, it was very well equipped, very pleasant hosts, and very comfortable. We would stay here again if our travels take us back to Maui.

Set in a beautiful area, this was a treat after a day of adventure, driving the road to Hana.
Really enjoyed meeting the four legged and winged family.
Really comfortable and well appointed space inside and out.

My boyfriend and I had a lovely one night stay at the Farm House Cottage in Hana! It was quiet, wholesome, and sweet even for just one night. Sharon and Alan did a wonderful job making us feel right at home in their cozy cottage. We loved talking to Sharon and getting to learn about her rescue animals who both my boyfriend and I agree are some of the nicest animals we’ve ever encountered, especially the horses and cows! The cottage was clean, and had everything we needed for our one night stay. The bed was very comfortable as well. Highly recommend staying here in Hana even if it’s for just one night!

We were so excited to stay in Hana for the night and not do the trip all in one day. We were equally excited to stay at a place with animals. We really admire the work the hosts are doing, taking care of animals that need help. We aspire to be like them some day. The cottage was cute and had everything you need to feel at home. The property is beautiful.

The cottage is so nice and the property was so peaceful. The owner was so welcoming and inviting. We had the unique opportunity to help feed the animals that they had rescued. We even were able to take a walk with the animals and the owner, what a wonderful memory we will made on our trip to Hana! Don’t miss this opportunity! This place is better than a hotel.

My husband and I had a great time at JJ’s Hana Hale! Closely located to fun, yummy food trucks and just off the Hana Highway. We enjoyed seeing all the animals and being greeted by Bear and Lucy (sweet doggos) on our arrival. We both had some of our best nights sleep on the comfortable bed with the fresh Maui air surrounding us. Sharon is lovely; she made checking in a breeze and ensured we had a comfortable stay. If you’re looking for a place to stay in Hana, look no further!

We loved the uniqueness of this property for our one overnight in/near Hana so we could visit all the sites along the Road to Hana without rushing there/back in the same day!
Loved meeting al the animals on the farm. Sharon was so warm and welcoming! She even lent us beach chairs for our reservations at black beach the morning we checked out. (We just dropped them back off on our way out of town).
Highly recommend for a unique stay!
